E ONLINE: KIDS CHOOSE TWILIGHT FOR NICKELODEON KIDS CHOICE AWARDS

E! Online: Kids nominate the darnedest things..

Proving that the odd scandal has nothing on blind adoration, the recently scandal-tinged Miley Cyrus and Michael Phelps, not to mention the unwitting feuders BeyoncÃ© and Twilight, have all nabbed nominations for the 22nd Annual Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards.
And it’s shaping up to be a battle of vampires vs. wizards when the Twilight series and Harry Potter series compete for Favorite Book.

Dwayne “Don’t Call Me the Rock” Johnson will host the slime-happy awards bash, to be telecast live from Los Angeles March 28.

As always, kids will vote on the winners of each of the 18 categories online beginning March 2.

I see the kids liked the books but not the movie. LOL. At least Twilight was nominated. What do you think of the nominations? Do you think some of the cast will show up at the awards?

wow…Harry Potter and the Diary of a wimpy kid ….

well my son is 11 and loves the diary of a wimpy kid…so is going to be a tough one I know a lot of his friend love it too

but is not popular with the girls so I think HP is the one to watch out, because girls and boys love those books

Ooh, yes, HP is one to watch out for. Diary of a Wimpy Kid? Never heard of it. *Shrug* :] Twilight FTW, though. ^^

Oh gosh…. HP and Twilight?? Of course I like both but my vote is Twilight. Twilight has more “big kid” issues?? I don’t know how else to put it, LOL…it’s gonna be a close one!!

I have heard of diary of a wimpy kid; but only in articles about twilight and its immense popularity.
all i know is that it was fairly successful.
but i still reckon harry potter will be the biggest competition.

Twilight series has my vote all the way…It rocks.. Im a little disapointed the movie wasn’t nominated though, I love it too!

I think Twilight’s a bit beyond the demographic their aiming for. I can understand Harry Potter being nominated, not that Im dumbing it down at all, it’s just a non-threatning book series. Twilight deals with a lot of sexual, hormonal urges verses Potters wand waving, no pun intended, LOL! But I think Twilight may just be over their ten year old heads..sorry.

Meh. I honestly find it disturbing that kids have read the Twilight series. There are so many themes in the series that kids just won’t get until they’re older. It’s all very underlying.
How do they even understand some of it?

Its nice to see twilight get nominated. As the mother of School aged children I’ve noticed the popularity of the books among the Junior High kids. It will depend on the age group of kids who do the voting. Twilight will be more popular with girls ages 11+. Boys that age might go with HP. Younger children will go for the diary of a wimpy kid books. It will come down to which children do the majority of the voting.

Kay. I have personally read diary of a wimpy kid and let me tell you, it is a waste of money and paper. It is dumb and VERY pointless. Twilight or Harry Potter is definatly going to win. I hate to say this but since Harry Potter has won pretty much all of the kid’s choice awards, im afraid for Twilight.
