EW.COM: TWILIGHT DVD DELETED SCENES RIGHTFULLY CUT???

Entertainment Weekly Popwatch: Do you think the deleted scenes were rightfully cut?

In case you haven’t seen the 3 deleted scenes released by Access Hollywood:

Exclusive Deleted Scene from Twilight: The Forbidden Love Bite!

Deleted Twilight Scene: Danger In The Woods!

Deleted Twilight Scene: Edward’s Bedroom Surprise

If you’ve seen the sneak peek of three deleted Twilight scenes from the March 21 DVD release, do you think director Catherine Hardwicke was right to trim them from the final film? I’d have to say yes, yes, and yes. While in theory, a second bedroom kiss sounds like a good idea, this one would’ve taken away from the intensity of the, um, more stirring session in the movie. (Here’s hoping there are more deleted kissing scenes on the DVD for us to judge….) The bonus woods chat feels like it was in the film (and is therefore boring). And Edward taking a taste from Bella’s finger is supposed to be sexy, but sorta comes off as unbelievable and laughable. Agree?

Excellent question. Personally, I think the “Forbidden Love Bite” scene was rightfully left out. It’s a bit weird to me.

But I think “Danger in the Woods” should have been left in the movie. We don’t get enough conversation between Edward and Bella. It showed how protective Edward is of his new love.

“Edward’s Bedroom Surprise” OME!!! I hyperventilated and watched it over and over again. Back to the point! It does show that Bella was often the aggressor, but it doesn’t show Edward holding back to protect her. I don’t think it fits with the movie.

Have you seen the deleted scenes? Do you think they should have been included in the movie? If yes, why? If no, why?

The bedroom was a dream sequence. And we know from Bella’s one condition of marriage that she does have a libido. It makes sense that it manifests in a dream.

  • Courtney James

I agree that “Danger in the Woods” should have been kept in the movie. I felt that it added feeling which I think the film needed more of. We never get to see them having conversations that show why they fell in love in the first place. In the movie they were just all of the sudden in love and it’s like “whooooa when did that happen??” granted, this seen is after bella already knows that edwards a vampire but still it shows actually feeling and i love it.

the other two, while they are good scenes, didn’t belong in twilight!

  • Melissa

I’m glad they cut them all. You can feel as you watch them that they don’t fit with the movie or mood quite right. Although, I do like the Danger In The Woods because it shows how protective Edward is. They could have kept that one but the scene didn’t feel right. They would have needed to redo it.

  • Barb

The first should definately have been cut…Edward would never risk Bella even innocently like that. But the other two I think would have added to the movie, just to help build the emotional bond between them. Edward constantly was worried for Bella, and he constantly talked about her adolescent hormones. They were good

The “danger in the woods” one should DEFINATELY have been in the movie!!!!

  • capotica

The book is clear to say Edward avoided exposing Bella to his sharp poisoned teeth, which are described as the main Vampire weapon, in the hunting bears conversation. The scene of the forbidden love bite is completely against what the book and Edward stand for. Also the scene of the dream is too far from the book. I’m glad they’re out.

  • Rosemarie

I agree that it made sense to delete the scenes, but I think I would have liked to see the Danger in the Woods scene because they really cut so much out of the Meadow chapter that I really would have loved to see! I can’t wait until I get my DVD!!!

  • Flor

There should be an extended version with all the deleted scenes included why not? I think they where all great, I get that perhaps some parts where edited because thay didn´t really fit to the mooth of the movie but I would really like an extended version.

  • http://all3deletedscenes Cindy

The Love bite one isn’t really in the book either so no on that, but I do LOVE the scene because ANY extra of Edward & Bella together is never enough!! I DO love the dream scene but may have been inappropriate for teens because while this movie supports abstinence …what a tease.. Yikes .. but I loved that one too. although the “Danger in the Woods” would have been perfect because that is in the book and I absolutely LOVE how protective he is of Bella. An extended version of the movie would be a dream come true and probably would be the one I’d always watch since I saw the original 7 times… like I said – can’t get enough of Edward & Bella.
but I can think of worse things to be addicted to.

  • kijo921

I have to agree with several here… I would’ve liked to see the “Danger in the Woods” scene in the movie! I missed awesome, cute & quaint conversations like that from the novel… like the entire Blood Typing chapter with the pizza/dirt conversation in the cafeteria and him sneaking off with her lemonade bottle cap. I mean, it’s sweet, little things like that that we didn’t get.

  • RachelCullen

the only one I would have wanted to be kept in is “Danger in the woods” because it was actually in the book plus some other reasons.
I’m SO GLAD that love bite one got cut. it didn’t make any sense and was just plain stupid. And the dream sequence one I think was a bit too full on for their relationship at that time. I realise it was just a dream, but it just didn’t fit… i dunno…

And yeah, they had hardly any conversations in the movie, it was all just intensity basically, the danger in the woods one would have been great.

    But I dont really mind. I think…

  • mj

I agree that Danger in the woods would have been good to have in the movie to show more of their growing love.
The other two scenes were inappropriate for the movie and I am glad they left them out.
not that I didn’t think they should have more intimatcy btw the two but both of these just didn’t go with the book or charcters.
It was more Kristen and Rob than Bella and Edward— LOL

  • jackefox

I actually saw an interview with Kristen last summer where she was asked which scenes she was looking forward to in Twilight. She hadn’t seen the movie yet, but mentioned there was this one day where she and Rob were filming in the woods and kind of messing around and they slipped together. She said that’s where she adlibbed the “you want a taste?” part (just to mess with him) and he then went right along with it (you can actually see in the clip he looks surprised!). So I don’t think the part after they slipped was originally in the script – and rightly so!

  • CarlisleRocks

I agree about the Love Bite and the Dream scenes, those did not belong in the movie, they weren’t in the book, and they really made no sense at all. The Danger in the Woods scene was great, was in the book and should have been in the movie. There were several book scenes that were not included in the movie that should have been, like James explanation about Alice and how he justified wanting to kill Bella and the moments with her Mom that would have made her Mom look less stupid! I did not like how they made Renee seem so shallow. I think they could have made twilight 20-30 minutes longer, and it would have been fine, I never heard anyone say it was too long, but I have heard people say it ended too soon!

  • shannon17

I would love a Director’s Cut of the movie with all the scenes added in.

  • http://google maddi

I agree the forbiden love bite and danger in the woods shold have been keept in the movie.

  • edelacruz

I liked the Danger in the woods scene and agree that it should have been in the movie. There wasn’t enough conversation with them – just a few montages with the soundtrack playing over the dialogue. There just wasn’t enough talk and RELATIONSHIP building. It’s like I blinked and then they were totally in love already and it was the end of the movie. The love bite scene was cute, but a little weird..it wasn’t in the book and probably unlikely. Edward would have sucked all the blood straight out of her finger!! The bedroom scene was HOT, but I think it was best left out….too racy for Twilight, but it’s nice to think that that’s why Bella was saying his name all the time in the book.

I always thought that they could’ve shot the Blood Typing scene, the lemonade cap scene, and the morning after Edward stayed with Bella in her room…those would’ve been great!

  • CarlisleFan

I would have liked to see Danger in the Woods scene in the movie, more dialogue from Edward.
The Dream scene, while being very hot, didn’t need to be in the movie..
and thank goodness the Forbidden Bite scene was cut..it was awful and cheesy.
I would have liked to see more scenes with the Cullen Family and scenes added given from Edwards perspective into the Twilight movie.

  • britney

with the kiss one she dosent know hes a vampire yet so he is going to kiss back just a pashonitly as she is so it makes sense to me for that to happen.

  • JakesGurl

Oh wow… i liked the scene in the wooods with the bite… but, i can’t figure out why the Edward in the books would WANT BEllA to bleed.
Its just very fictional.. for Edward.
