EW’S SHELF LIFE: ‘TWILIGHT’ TO BECOME GRAPHIC NOVEL
EW.com’s Shelf Life is bringing us the exclusive news that Little, Brown will be publishing a comic book version of Twilight:
For those of you who can’t get enough Edward and Bella, EW can announce — exclusively — that Little, Brown will be publishing Twilight in graphic-novel form. Though Korean artist Young Kim is creating the art, Meyer herself is deeply immersed in the project, reviewing every panel.Take a close look at the biology-class sketch we’ve obtained (that’s an empty dialogue bubble between their heads, if you’re wondering). What’s interesting to me is that it doesn’t look simply like an artist’s rendering of Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson. In fact, the characters seem to be an amalgam of Meyer’s literary imagination and the actors’ actual looks. The description of Edward from biology class: “His dazzling face was friendly; open, a slight smile on his flawless lips. But his eyes were cautious.” And Bella: “I was ivory-skinned …. I’m excited to see how this turns out, I’m really glad that Stephenie is so involved with it. I know this is something I’ll buy. Personally I disagree with the article, I think Kristen Stewart is a fantastic Bella and Rob Pattinson is a perfect Edward, but I’m excited to see how the characters all turn out in animation.

This reminds me of the movie commentary when Rob says he looks like an anime character and Catherine says they’re actually making Twilight anime.
So… Bella and Edward are blondes now?? I sure hope they add color… and then maybe I can be more excited. It’s a great idea though.
I’ve never been into comics before, but yes, I will definitely get into this one. The fact that SM herself is involved is enough for me to believe the integrity of the series will be preserved.

Soooo awesome! Comics are awesome! I just hope they add color,it’d look better.
The writer was saying that the comic looks better as Edward and Bella then Robert and kristen, which isn’t true. I think the comic represents it in a different way, and true, is more loyal to the book then the looks Robert and Kristen had, but I still think that both Robert and Kristen made a great Bella and Edward!

I’d buy it! It’s exactly as I pictured Edward and Bella.
I’ve never liked Anime because the characters expressions and movments are so stiff that you cant see past the weirdness of it. But this guy gaptured them to the tee!
I love Twilight,Edward and Bella but I don’t think the graphic novel is a good idea.Why not just leave it like a novel or a movie?Graphic novel is just too much…

I love that they didn’t draw the charactors after Kristen and Rob. They are very gorgeous people don’t get me wrong but it does leave more to the imagination if they don’t. I will be looking for the comic books in my area.
