RUMORSHollywood is always full of rumors and sorting them out can be a daunting task. However, it can be done. Journalists can cut through a lot of rumor by asking the people involved to confirm or deny.
The Movies in the Twilight series are producing rumors all over the internet. So, I have checked with the people who actually know. The entertainment company who is involved with the films and their management and publicity people and here are the facts, and just the facts.
There has been no director signed for Eclipse, none at all. Their are talks going on, but no names are being released as this is a critical time in negotiations and that info will not be released until a person is signed. We may never know who was being considered besides the person who is signed.
Drew Barrymore is not being considered, and in MY OWN OPINION was never being considered. As talented as she is, as much as her name means in Hollywood, it would not get her through directing this film. This is another Hollywood rumor. The director will be someone who is capable and experienced. Some fans might not like who is signed, but it will be who the production people believe will do the best job and the job that the studio wants done. Bottom line.
I appreciate sorting fact from rumor. It’s near impossible to do with the hype surrounding Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse. I honestly cannot tell anymore. I’ve decided most information is BS unless it comes from Summit.
I think half the rumors are marketing ploys so others can cash in on the attention relating to Twilight.
We do the best we can at TA. Mostly we report what other journalists are reporting. It’s a difficult job to sort through it and decide what is news worthy.
