HARRY POTTERS GETS LOVE FROM ROBERT PATTINSON
It’s Harry Potter’s 10 year birthday this week. MTV asked musicians and actors how HP has impacted their lives. Robert and Kellan’s answer below:
Robert Pattinson (Cedric in “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire,” Edward in “Twilight”): “Does it make me a traitor? ‘Harry Potter’ was what made me become an actor. I credit ‘Harry Potter’ with everything else that’s come since for me. I didn’t know what I was doing before that. I hadn’t read the books before doing the movie, so at first I read it just as an acting exercise. But I really enjoyed it! But I think Edward would kick Cedric’s BLEEP, to be honest.”Kellan Lutz (”Twilight”): “I love ‘Harry Potter.’ I actually wanted ‘Harry Potter’ as competition for ‘Twilight,’ because you’d be seeing the wizard side of fantasy and then jumping into the vampire life. Everyone I talk to is so obsessed with it. I always wished I had powers. I always wished I had a stick and a broom! It’s a great story. It’s so well-written. I think ‘Harry Potter’ hit everything. It set the precedent, that peak of Mount Everest, and we all want to climb that mountain. I just wish there were as many books to make movies of in ‘Twilight’ as there are in ‘Harry Potter.’ “
Robert is right to be grateful to Harry Potter - that movie was his big break. I have to agree with him, though. Edward Cullen could kick Cedric’s bleep. Are you a Harry Potter and Twilight fan? I am, I love both series (I love Twilight just a tad more). I hope the Twilight movie turns out to be as well done as the Harry Potter movies. What do you think? Will Twilight be true to the book?

Hey, I love you Harry but um…….Edward would break you in two before any spell would leave your lips………He’s faster, stronger, and HOTTER. Sorry darling. I’ve a new love. And he……………sparkles.
I agree with you, Tink. I love Harry, but Edward’s WAY better- for all the reasons you mentioned. And, as you said, Rob is right- Edward would definitely kick Harry’s ass- he would kill Harry b4 Harry would have any time to do anything about it. And I agree w/dawnnoelle 2- I love Harry Potter, but I love Twilight more- only Twilight has ever inspired such an obsession w/me, and im not exactly sure why, but whatever the reason, I was NEVER anywhere NEAR this obsessed w/Harry Potter, so I definitely have to rank Twilight above it on my list. I do have to disagree with one thing dawnnoelle said, though- I hope the Twilight movie(s) turn out BETTER than the Harry Potter movies, not “as well done as”- b/c you see, i only really liked the first two movies- the second one is my fav (ironically, b/c the 2nd book is my LEAST fav), and the third movie was only all right, and i positively HATED the 4th movie (no offense 2 Robert Pattinson of course), and therefore never did see the 5th movie. i think a better hope would be to hope Twilight’s as well done as the Lord of the Rings movies- since LOTR is tied w/Twilight (Twilight might edge it out just a smidge) as my fav books of all time, and the movies were some of the best book-to-movie adaptations of all time- so yeah, THAT would be my hope. If they did as good of a job w/Twilight as they did w/LOTR, we would have it MADE.
as much as I love twilight AND edward/rob (to be..he’s a single entity lol)…I DO have my doubts about the twilight movie. Because, if u compare harry potter 1st book movie to twilight 1st book movie, the movie length itself is like what..almost half an hour less? and HP book was like..half the size smaller!!. As in, harry potter series tries as much as they can to stay true to the book, not adding scenes, but rather modify them so that it still stay true to the original books without having to completely make up new scenes….even if its made or approved by the author Not that I’d mind it so much..but..it didn’t go though the same rigorous thinking process as the original manuscripts and I’d rather see the original scenes than a new made up one to replace the same thing.
