THE HDROOM: TWILIGHT BLU-RAY MYSTERY SOLVED
There’s been a lot of confusion about the Twilight Blu-ray release. Or is that releases? I’m here to set the record straight.As previous reported here at TheHDRoom, Twilight will be released in a special edition Blu-ray Disc package on March 21, day-and-date with the DVD debut. The catch? It will be exclusive to Best Buy and Target (online and retail locations).
Other retailers such as Walmart, Blockbuster and Amazon.com will have to wait until May 5 until they can release Twilight. Rental copies through Blockbuster, Netflix and other companies will be available on March 21.
Though Amazon.com was shut out from the March exclusive deal Summit Entertainment entered with Target and Best Buy, they did manage to secure a different exclusive offer. Amazon has begun taking pre-orders on a Twilight Ultimate Collector’s Set with a hefty price tag of $79.99. Here’s what you get for nearly $80.
This explains why Amazon has the ultimate collector’s set up for pre-order, then it was gone. Apparently now it’s back up again. Amazon has found a way around the deal with Best Buy and Target. Mystery solved, thanks HDRoom.com!

ok, i am confused too….so no dvd until may 5th, or can you still get it at best buy or target( target is non-existent here in canada!)

Ooooooooooh, ok. That’s what I originally thought. Since I don’t give a dang about blue ray, no worries, dvd comes out March 21st, yah!
Dose that mean on March 21st that I can go to Wall mart at Midnight and they will have the 2 disc dvd? that helped but not compleatly =/

According to their websites, Target’s bluray release date is still listed as May 5 & Best Buy doesn’t list bluray at all.
The regular DVD has different extra features depending on where you buy it (ex: Borders will have its own “exclusive” extras).
Does anyone else feel that Summit is being very greedy & needs to pull their act together?

I agree, Summit is being a bit greedy. Are they trying to squeeze more money from the fans by releasing multiple versions? Not cool.
Ok I must be missing something! I do not want Blue ray! I want a DVD that I can just sit and watch the movie. Can I get it on March 21st or not?? This is crazy I do not have a Blue ray player so I just want the basic old DVD.

I want the Blu-Ray, and I’m excited it is coming out in March! I have a Target and Best Buy in my town, and my Blu-Ray player is open and ready! I am also buying the 2 disc DVD the same day. I WANT IT ALL!
I am super excited now that I heard that they “beefed” up the special effects on the DVD. Can’t wait to see that! Wonder how much better it will be? Can’t really be any worse, right?

I ordered the DVD like a month ago off of Stephenie Meyer’s website.
I got the two-disc speical for 26 somethng. and it’s coming in March 24.
So I went out and got the BluRay, because up here in Canada there is no delay, only to find out that some of the special features that are available on the two disk DVD? ARENT THERE! On the BluRay we have Play Movie, Scene Selections, Special Features, and Languages, and when you choose special features? We are missing everything in the second column, we have nothing after the Theatrical Campaign whereas I have seen from the DVD (shown on youtube) Things like “Music the heartbeat of Twilight”, “Becoming Edward”, “Becoming Bella”, “Catherine Hardwickes Vampire Kiss Montage”, “Catherine Hardwicke’s Bella’s Lullaby Remix Music Video”, and “Edwards Piano concert”
This is greatly disturbing, especially since in most places, a single BluRay is more expensive than a two disk DVD set… what a crock
