HIT FIX: CHRIS WEITZ CONFIRMS ARTISTS FOR THE ‘NEW MOON’ SOUNDTRACK
HitFix has confirmed with Chris Weitz at Comic Con that Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and Bon Iver will be contributing to the New Moon soundtrack.
Director Chris Weitz has confirmed to HitFix.com that Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and Bon Iver will be contributing all-new tracks to the film “Twilight Saga: New Moon.”“I selfishly want to put songs in by artists I love. And some the cast and crew also happen to love,” says Weitz. “I think [Bon Iver] is fantastic. He says he wrote it for the film, but who ever knows if it might just be something laying around in his cupboard.”
Weitz mentioned that he will be listening to Yorke’s new track tomorrow (July 24) and “unless it’s sounds of him belching, I think I’ll put it in.”
The comments came during the “Twilight” sequel cast and crew interviews at Comic-Con in San Diego, the multi-day fest at the Convention Center.
British rock group Band Of Skulls — who have lately been opening for Spinnerette — will also be included and Weitz still is “hoping to get Kings Of Leon.”
As previously reported, Alexandre Desplat will be scoring the film, the sounds of which Weitz describes as “lush. That’s how I wanted the cinematography to be.”
Ooh, I’m excited to see Thom Yorke is going to be involved. I’m still crossing my fingers for Kings of Leon though, I’m a huge fan.
What do you think of these soundtrack confirmations? Are you glad to hear some of the artists, beyond the composer, will be original?
