HOLLYWOODCHICAGO: LUCY HALE AUDITIONED FOR NEW MOON?
Lucy Hale, the star of The CW’s “Privileged,” revealed this week that she too has auditioned for a role in the upcoming sequel to Stephenie Meyer’s “Twilight,” the highly anticipated “New Moon.”Twist Magazine broke the scoop after speaking to Hale on the phone and hearing straight from the TV star that she has officially auditioned for the role of Jane in “New Moon”.
Hale told Twist: “Well, I did read [for the role of Jane]. We had some talks about it. But I think they just offered it to Dakota Fanning – the role I was interested in – which is great. I’m a huge fan of her! So, I think she’ll probably take that. And I mean, as of right now, I’m not sure if it’s going to work out. But I’m definitely still going to see it!”
Twist also asked Hale if she would take any part in “New Moon” – not just the role of Jane – to which the young actress said: “I’d take any role! Leah Clearwater, but I think there’s already talks with somebody else. I think they’ve already offered it to someone. I mean, we’ll see. If not, it’s all good.”

l just looked up lucy hale on imdb. she would be an interesting jane l believe, but at least she was nice about saying that dakota might’ve got the role she wanted instead of complaining.
i read somewhere that the screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg did not include leah clearwater in New Moon when all the vanessa hudgens rumors were going on she said if she read for the part she didnt know how because leah will no be in New Moon since leahs part is so small in New Moon she didnt add her in but that she will be in Eclipse of course

I think Dakota would make a better Jane. And Lucy looks too young to play Leah. But maybe she’ll look alright by the time Eclipse comes out. She’d make a good leah

I FOR SURE think that Lucy should get it, i am REALLY bummed that Dakota is doing it, i just pictured Jane so much different, and one of the most attractive things about Twilight for me was that it was all of the stars were pretty much unknowns,(at least to me lol) i don’t want to watch Jane trying to be menacing and be thinking of Charlotte’s web the whole time, it just doesn’t fit, i love Dakota fanning but i think she is all wrong for the role
Lucy Hale would definately work…and probably not wreck the budget either! No offense to Dakota. I do not want this movie to turn into “her” movie…
i think she’ll be better as Leah Clearwater or Emily or another Volturi member, but i can see Dakota Fanning as Jane.

I hope she gets the role of Jane. No offence to the Dakota Fanning fans. She’s the right age that I imagined Jane would be. I just think Dakota Fanning is a little to young to play Jane.

I’d personsally rather see Lucy as Jane. I don’t picture Jane with blonde hair, I picture her with darker hair. I think both actresses are too old looking to play her, anyways but that’s just me.
haha, i like this Lucy Hale. she gets good vibes from me. but, she looks a little too old. i always pictured Jane as being like a 10-year-old, dark haired girl lol.
IDK why she would think she would get the role for Leah or why she thinks Vanessa is getting it. It was announced awhile ago by her agent or whatever to JustJaredJr that Vanessa hadn’t even audtioned and also Melissa Rosenberg confirmed that Leah isnt even in the script and wont make a debut until Eclipse because her role is so miniscule in New Moon. Other than that, I can’t really see her as Jane or anyone else in the cast for that matter, IDK why.

I always imagined Jane as a brunette so, I think she would be good, but don’t get me wrong, I love Dakota Fanning, but I think Jane should be a “little” older then Dakota.
