‘Privileged’ Star Lucy Hale Auditions For Role in ‘Twilight’ Sequel ‘New Moon’

Lucy Hale, the star of The CW’s “Privileged,” revealed this week that she too has auditioned for a role in the upcoming sequel to Stephenie Meyer’s “Twilight,” the highly anticipated “New Moon.”

Twist Magazine broke the scoop after speaking to Hale on the phone and hearing straight from the TV star that she has officially auditioned for the role of Jane in “New Moon”.

Hale told Twist: “Well, I did read [for the role of Jane]. We had some talks about it. But I think they just offered it to Dakota Fanning – the role I was interested in – which is great. I’m a huge fan of her! So, I think she’ll probably take that. And I mean, as of right now, I’m not sure if it’s going to work out. But I’m definitely still going to see it!”

Twist also asked Hale if she would take any part in “New Moon” – not just the role of Jane – to which the young actress said: “I’d take any role! Leah Clearwater, but I think there’s already talks with somebody else. I think they’ve already offered it to someone. I mean, we’ll see. If not, it’s all good.”

As always, this has not been confirmed, but it’s interesting. She’s really cute. She does look young and angelic. What do you think? Should she have been chosen over Dakota? Why or why not?

    l just looked up lucy hale on imdb. she would be an interesting jane l believe, but at least she was nice about saying that dakota might’ve got the role she wanted instead of complaining.

    i read somewhere that the screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg did not include leah clearwater in New Moon when all the vanessa hudgens rumors were going on she said if she read for the part she didnt know how because leah will no be in New Moon since leahs part is so small in New Moon she didnt add her in but that she will be in Eclipse of course

    Yes! Anything other then Dakota!!! If she accepts I swear I’ll go emo.It’ll give me a huge grudge throughout the hole movie. I DON’T WANT THAT!!!!!!!!!! WAAGGGHHH!!!
    WHY?!!! OH, WHY??!!!! Why couldn’t they get someone unfamiliar so if you already don’t like them it won’t make you unhappy!!!!!!

    Dakota all th way. And WTF?! She CANNOT be Leah Clearwater. Firt of all, Leah isn’t in the New Moon movie, Melissa Rosenberg left her out! Second of all, Leah is NATIVE

    I think Dakota would make a better Jane. And Lucy looks too young to play Leah. But maybe she’ll look alright by the time Eclipse comes out. She’d make a good leah

    I FOR SURE think that Lucy should get it, i am REALLY bummed that Dakota is doing it, i just pictured Jane so much different, and one of the most attractive things about Twilight for me was that it was all of the stars were pretty much unknowns,(at least to me lol) i don’t want to watch Jane trying to be menacing and be thinking of Charlotte’s web the whole time, it just doesn’t fit, i love Dakota fanning but i think she is all wrong for the role :(

    Lucy Hale would definately work…and probably not wreck the budget either! No offense to Dakota. I do not want this movie to turn into “her” movie…

    i think she’ll be better as Leah Clearwater or Emily or another Volturi member, but i can see Dakota Fanning as Jane.

    I hope she gets the role of Jane. No offence to the Dakota Fanning fans. She’s the right age that I imagined Jane would be. I just think Dakota Fanning is a little to young to play Jane.

    I think she’s way cute, but not for Jane. I would like to see her as a possible Leah Clearwater, though. That’d rock. She looks like she has that sass for it.

    really? no leah for NM? WTF? why? I mean.. I know her part is really small.. but ¬¬ I hate that.. that’s why I prefer books! But still… i think dakota can be a relly great jane XD just imagine.. i can see her as an evil vampire (6) but still being angelikal.. ._. I want leah… ¬¬

    I’d personsally rather see Lucy as Jane. I don’t picture Jane with blonde hair, I picture her with darker hair. I think both actresses are too old looking to play her, anyways but that’s just me.

    haha, i like this Lucy Hale. she gets good vibes from me. but, she looks a little too old. i always pictured Jane as being like a 10-year-old, dark haired girl lol.

    IDK why she would think she would get the role for Leah or why she thinks Vanessa is getting it. It was announced awhile ago by her agent or whatever to JustJaredJr that Vanessa hadn’t even audtioned and also Melissa Rosenberg confirmed that Leah isnt even in the script and wont make a debut until Eclipse because her role is so miniscule in New Moon. Other than that, I can’t really see her as Jane or anyone else in the cast for that matter, IDK why.

    OME I just looked her up…Lucy is beautiful! And her last name is Hale (surprised no one noticed/said anything) I’m not sure who i want to play Jane right now…..=[. But Lucy should do something at least. And Dakota is pretty but is she is she VAMPIRE B_E_A_U_T_I_F_U_L??

    I think that Lucy Hale would be an awesome Leah to be honest that is how I pictured Leah! if they cut her from New Moon it would be stupid! I looked her up at imdb.com and thought there were a couple pictures in there that were so Leah! She can pull off the mean look! JMO!

    nooooooooooo pleaz no dakota. shes a great actr bt 4 jane IMPOSSIBLE. its like i dnt want any BIG screen actors tyrning to cash in on our twilight. besides dakota lookks nothing like jane,shes too young, and sh just doesnt fit!!!!!!!!!! this lucy hale grl i google imaged her and aftr looking at her i REALLY could c her as jane, although rihanna will always be the REAL jane to me!

    I always imagined Jane as a brunette so, I think she would be good, but don’t get me wrong, I love Dakota Fanning, but I think Jane should be a “little” older then Dakota.

    I love Dakota Fanning, but as far as Jane goes I think Lucy would play it better
    Lucy doesn’t really get the props she deserves. Because she can act.

    I personally believe that Lucy would make a great Bella. For starters she looks exaclty how Stephanie described her. And she has a certain allure and sparkle about her. If they were ever to recast Bella, Lucy should be at the top of the list and Emily… hahaaha That won’t ever happen though…
