IGN INTERVIEW WITH CATHERINE HARDWICKE
IGN UK has posted an interview with Catherine Hardwicke:
IGN: Given the anticipation, could you work undisturbed by fans?Hardwicke: We tried but somehow the fans would always know we were on a mountaintop in the middle of the night! Even when we had a fake title, Transit!
IGN: What involvement did the author Stephenie Meyer have and did you welcome that?
Hardwicke: For me it was important because this was her baby. When we finished the screenplay we sent it to Stephenie, hoping she wouldn’t freak out, and she sent us some notes, change this line or this line, but overall she was extremely supportive and enthusiastic. And she came out three times on set to visit us and you might notice she has a cameo – eating in the diner with the vegetarian plate! And she also came to the editing room and saw the final cut and gave her notes and we tried to incorporate them.
