They list Catherine Hardwicke as the director, Melissa Rosenberg as the screenplay writer, and Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart among the cast.

I don’t mind if Catherine directs. There were parts I really enjoyed, like the baseball game! Not sure how I feel about Melissa, though. I felt that there were scenes that were unnecessary and more of the banter between Edward and Bella was missing. Plus, compared to the book, I thought Edward’s character seemed a little harsh. Not that I have any complaints about Rob, himself. I think he did an excellent job with what he was given. I just felt he could have been given a little more. (If that makes any sense!)
i’m truly happy that both catherine and melissa are working on new moon for the simple reason that they both care a lot about making the movie as close to the book as possible, and i know that some people weren’t thrilled with the movie but i think it was really close and of course no way as good as the book but still great
I’m happy about Catherie, as long as she doesn’t try to work Edward into it more than he’s supposed to be. And, I guess, the same goes for Melissa…
I hate that they kept CH & MR. This movie will be another Twilight botch job. A lot of things will be left out and they are going to keep Edward throughout the movie. This movie will suck. CH & MR don’t have the right vision for this movie.
I’m happy that Catherine is directing, but I’m not sure about Melissa. I’m hopeful that with a bigger budget and more time this movie will be fantastic. I loved Twilight, but I know it could have been better. I hope New Moon is 3 hours long!!
It isn’t 100% confirmed that Catherine Hardwicke is returning, though it’s looking dangerously likely! The New Moon screenplay is already complete, so we can’t oust Melissa. But we can still petition for a new director (check out www.savethetwilightsagamovies.com to sign the petition!). Hardwicke isn’t bad for some things, but she proved that this material needs a better eye and intuition. What a disaster Twilight the movie was! If something significant doesn’t change, the next three movies are going to suck! What a heartbreak that would be!

None of this info is true or confirmed because the studio itself have been thinking about maybe changing the director giving to the terrible slams and some scenes in the movie not looking so very well directed,
but in my opinion they should just think about changing the make-up department people(yuck!!!),oh and that terrible hairstylist they got that totally man slaughtered Rob’s(Edward’s) hair(I personally think that is a worldwide shared feeling)(LOL!!!) and at last that not so very good writter that made the movie get some really nasty critisizement.
i cant believe i have to wait for 2010 to see new moon. now i know how everyone felt as they waited for twilight to come out. but then again at the time you didnt know that it was being made into a movie untill later. but still DAMNNNNN!!!! i really cant wait! lolz

It’s almost 2009 so it won’t be that long at all. it will come out in 2010, so its going to acually come a lot sooner then it should.
I’m confused. That page listed Catherine as the director of New Moon, but it also had a news release saying she was fired by Summit and not returning to direct.
Which one is right?
I’m kind of torn. I like Catherine’s style of movie, but there was some stuff lacking in Twilight. Personally, I could do without Melissa returning. Why don’t they consider asking Stephenie, herself, to write it? At least she would make sure all the pivotal parts are left in the story.
Wow i see some crazy harsh words towards a few people. I think it’ll do perfectly fine with catherine and melissa twilight was amazing i mean just look at how much twilight made in it’s opening weekend!!! Not much can top that. Also i hope rob “edward” isn’t put into the movie more than the book shows him. Im a huge Rob “edward” fan but the come back in the end of the book is truly amazing and i think the movie should go by the book. Also i pray they keep the same cast because really a seqeual isn’t that great with new characters it’ll totally ruin it. So hopefully they pull them all together for each book. I think it’ll be totally amazing and perfect. Twilight is the $#@!!!!

OMG I can’t take reading anymore about how great twilight the movie was. Nothing could be further from the truth. Its tied with being as far off from the book, as “queen of the damed” was. Isn’t emit’s hair curly? Rosely’s face was pudgy, nothing like the goddess the book makes her out to be. Adding scenes with no relevance and taking away moments that made the book such a hit. The wonderful love story got lost in horrible dialogue and rushed choppy acting. If it wasn’t for the idol prone teeny boopers, or desperate SWF’s, the movie would not have made as much money as it has. Thank god I didn’t waste any money on this ridiculous adaptation and viewed it via bootleg. I have no hopes what so ever for the sequel. Of course they will change the story around yet again to include “edward” in more of the movie then the book. Do you really think they would pay him 12 million for half of the movie. But, he sells the movie, so to hell with the original story! Who cares about the millions of fans that made the book to movie possible in the first place. As long as everyone gets paid, author included, they will continue to shovel out the same second hand nonsense.
I heard that they are changing the movie drastically from the book, that they are not allowing Edward to leave as he did in “New Moon” the book? Is this true and why would they change this. It very unsettling to us the fans. I’ve read the the series twice and the breaking dawn 3 times already, if this is true. i will not go see the new movie.
well i heard that the new moon movie is uspossed to be coming out this year, 2009!!! like it said like on november 20th? someting like that, but thats just what i have eard recently. but they better get to steppin on the movie! cuz they all ganna be getting old! just imagine how old they will be once breaking dawn the movie comes out! lol imagine how old we will be! :O haha. AND I AGREE THEY NEED A NEW DIRECTOR REALLY BADLY!! i liked the twilight movie but the directing of it was pretty bad to be honost! but yea thats just my own opinion
