JULES SMITH: ‘NEW MOON’ INSPIRED JEWELRY COLLECTION

Posted July 20th, 2009 By: Team Switzerland 12 Comments »

Gina Nigrelli, the designer for the popular brand “Jules Smith” has hopped on the Twilight train. As a result of her love for the Twilight series, Nigrelli has created a New Moon inspired jewelry line which includes a few “fanged” pieces. The names of these pieces are Twilight themed as well, with everything from “Edward’s Smile” to “Jacob’s Nemesis”. Kristen Stewart herself is even said to be a very devoted fan of the Jules Smith brand.

View and/or purchase the entire collection here.

I know, I know: Stephenie’s vampires don’t have fangs. I still like this jewelry line though. I love that Twilight has inspired yet another person, and I have a feeling these pieces will be a big hit.

What do you think of the jewelry line? Will you end up purchasing any of the pieces?

I don’t really care for the jewelry pieces. I was really hoping for some nicer pieces of jewelry for the “more mature” Twilight Fan. I have several friends who would also like to see some nice jewelry on the market. I don’t like the “fangs”. Our vampires don’t really have fangs. I would like to see a nicer version of the Cullen Crest or the charm given to Bella from Jacob or the diamond given to her by Edward. I’d like to see the pieces keep in line with the books.

I’m not crazy about these pieces either.Actually, I kind of made my own invention for Twilight[the 1st book.]I took the apple from one of the Twilight bracelets, and put it on this really cool chain, that looks like it’s linked together with pins. The bright red in the apple really stands out,and everyone I meet asks me what it means, and why am I wearing an apple.I tell them it’s the ‘FORBIDDEN FRUIT’ in Twilight. Some don’t understand, and they think I mean, I’m the forbidden fruit, and I say no Edward is,and then we get into this whole conversation. It’s great because,if they’re a Twilight Fan,I’ve just made another friend. SOOOOOOOOO MUCH FUN!

I agree with the other two posts. I do not care for these. They have nothing to do with Twilight, they don’t make me think of Twilight, fangs are not Stephenie Meyer…. If I was going to wear something that had to do with Twilight, I would want it to be more sophisticated and adult.

Eh, not impressed. I like the jewelry out there on Etsy or even my own creations that I have posted on my blog better than this offering.

I have to agree; I’m not crazy about these pieces either.
RHONDA, check out http://www.etsy.com and go to norianes bijoux-she does some rally wonderful Twilight inspired jewelry that, as she says, doesn’t scream “Twilight Fan”. I’m also one of those Twilight fans who does NOT fit into the under 30 crowd and I’vE placed several orders with her. Noriane has some pieces that are fun and tasteful while others I can wear with suits, etc. I can wear something from her everyday and they always get loads of compliments. She rocks and you should definitely check out her stuff.

I like the fangs but $65 for this? Uh I think I am going to have to pass on this.

What do fangs have to do with Twilight? Nothing. Why is TA even talking about this? This designer has obviously never read the Twilight books…

I agree with the previous post, norianesbijoux on Etsy has some great stuff. The Twilight connection is obvious if you’re a fan, but her stuff is subtle if you don’t want to be too obvious about it.

Definitely won’t be buying the fang jewelry… I like my Edward with regular teeth, thank you very much!

BAHAHAHAHA!!! lol that is funny! i wudn’t buy one though!

While these don’t really remind me of twilight I think there great as far as vampire jewelry goes. These should be True Blood necklaces!

I simply don’t understand how these fangs have anything to do with the Twilight saga. It is made extremely clear that the vampires in Stephanie Meyer’s world do not have fangs. They have perfect smiles with normal human looking teeth.

I also think the price point is quite high for fan jewelry.

If these are “approved” by Summit and the whole Twilight franchise, I don’t get it… like everyone else said, these have nothing to do with Twilight (other than the names the designer gave them) and they aren’t even attractive. They’re kinda gross really.

I don’t understand how Jules Smith can put these things out there, slap a “New Moon Collection” label on them, and get away with it when someone else who makes Twilight-inspired jewelry that really does echo the books (b/c she is a fan)… and she even makes it clear that it is not official merchandise, just inspired by the series… SHE is forced by Summit to take her store down.

    It’s not right.

  • Erin

Just looked for Norianes shop… she, like eternallyoung, has had her etsy shop shut down by Summit.
