KELLY CLARKSON TALKS ABOUT WRITING A SONG FOR ‘NEW MOON’
Earlier this month there were rumors swirling that a song had leaked from Kelly Clarkson called “Did You” which supposedly was her contribution to the New Moon soundtrack. Ultimately, these rumors were proven false. Well, Kelly Clarkson is back, and this time she is talking about how she had written a song long ago inspired by the book called “Empty As I Am”:

I am not crazy about really mainstream artists being on the soundtrack, but I trust whatever Chris and the music team ultimately come up with. I do think Kelly has a great sound though, and I’d be interested in hearing the song she wrote for the film. We’ve heard her say before that she was a big Twilight fan, and I think it’s really cool that she was so moved by the series that she wrote a song about it.
What do you think of this interview? Would you be happy with Kelly contributing a song for the soundtrack? Which band(s) are you hoping are included on the New Moon soundtrack?

When the rumors came out a few months ago about Kelly doing a song on the New Moon Sound Track, I really wasn’t sure. I like Kelly don’t get me wrong, and that she is a huge Twilight Fan is a 100% bonus…..I like her songs, too. I just could not see her on the New Moon Sound Track, for some reason. I think I would like to hear the song first.
She is in Australia at the moment and was on our talk show here called Rove; she is a gorgeous girl and has a great personality, too.
I like Kelly, so I’m not upset that she will be on the soundtrack. I think its pretty cool that she wrote a song for the movie. I just hope they don’t have alot of big name stars. I loved that the Twilight soundtrack had a bunch of smaller bands. I hope they continue with that!
OK, first of all, I don’t like the fact that she’s making anyone who remotely likes the Twilight sage into a “nerd” (as she states). She needs to be prouder of being one of US than that!!! Anyway, other than the fact that she kept saying nerd a whole lot… I like the thought of a song called “Empty As I Am” for New Moon. I just don’t want her to be on the soundtrack. I like the unknowns getting a chance at stuff like this. Also, I hope they make this soundtrack a little harder and more edgy! Then again, I like rock so … we’ll see!

No seriously we’ve been called worse, you know I did not even notice when I watched it the first time about the nerd thing…., maybe she meant it as a term of endearment??? Let’s see if she gets on the Sound Track, I do want to hear the song first.
I would love to see some more Paramore on there. I agree with Autumn, I liked the Twilight soundtrack and the fact that they didn’t go with too many mainstream artists. Although, Kelly used to be my favourite singer

I like Kelly as a singer. I have her albums but I dont feel that she’s fit for the newmoon soundtrack. i’d rather hear less mainstream artist for this soundtrack, or mainstream artist like linkin park but definitely not pop singers or pop sounding singers.
Normally I wouldn’t want a Kelly Clarkson song on a Twilight soundtrack…not that I don’t like her, I do…but her songs don’t seem to fit the mood. With one HUGE exception, I love, love, love “Did You”. It fits perfectly with New Moon and I really wish THAT rumor would’ve been true. I wish the music director for New Moon could listen to that song and would use it.
Um Yah she would be amazing… I made a new Moon mix and put songs on it that reminded me of the Book.. Yes Stephenie Meyer was my inspiration on this one…. I made copies for all my Twifriends any way the three songs that I put on it are: Cry, Haunted and Sober…. You guys should check them out!!!!
I love Kelly, I think she’d be great for New Moon! She can do the whole haunted vibe.
