KRISTEN STEWART - ‘KIDS HAVE BEEN SO MEAN TO ME’
Independent.ie has a very interesting, if not slightly sad, new article about Kristen Stewart. They talk a bit with her about the lack of love she tends to get from fans in comparison to her co-star Robert Pattinson, why she never went on ‘kiddie’ auditions, and more.

Below is a portion of the article:
KRISTEN Stewart is not unlike any 18-year-old you might see sifting through the rack in a second-hand clothes shop or nodding her head at an indie gig, but the difference between Stewart and the average teenager is that she not only performs on screen, but is also expected to be articulate and engaging as she fields questions from the media day-after-day in countries all over the world. The round of interviews to promote a movie and help make millions for the studio can be demanding and it is easy to forget just how young some of the stars really are. Stewart is learning all about those demands with Twilight, the first film adaptation of the book series written by Stephenie Meyer. “It is the hardest thing,” she says of the levels of press attention now focused on her.
If you have a daughter aged 11 to 15 you may well be aware of the Twilight phenomenon. The books (four in total) have sold more than 17 million copies worldwide, and are the tale of the love between a vampire with a “Blue Steel” pout called Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and a slightly offbeat schoolgirl, Bella (Stewart). It’s The Lost Boys for the tween generation, minus the fangs and blood.
While her co-star Pattinson has become the latest teen heartthrob, Stewart is learning that not everyone wants to be her friend as they compete for the attentions of her on-screen love interest.
“We have to do autograph signings occasionally and usually everyone is so nice and excited but sometimes they just walk by and if their expressions spoke they would say, ‘We’re not here for you, we’re here for Rob. Don’t think you’re so special. We don’t even want your autograph’.”
She’s aware that doing a movie with such a huge following as this, and the sequels that will follow, brings with it a pressure that she hasn’t experienced before. “Normally if you do a movie and it touches people or says something to somebody then you say, ‘Great; cool; we did that for a reason’. And if it doesn’t then you say, ‘OK, we’ll go and do another one’. In this case that’s not an option. If people didn’t like it, then it would really be a big failure.”
Stewart, so small she appears almost to be engulfed by the large sofa she’s sitting on, seems to be your classic indie-girl. She’s extremely pretty, but doesn’t have on much, if any, make-up. She has a wry, self-deprecating sense of humour and talks of her guitar playing (”I’m not good”), her love of the Beatles and her fondness for classic literature rather than teen books like Twilight. “But this isn’t really a teen novel. It appears to be but it’s not,” she makes sure to clarify.
Like Ellen Page, who was nominated for her performance in Juno last year, Stewart is part of a new brigade of young actresses who are seeking to be taken seriously for their acting rather than being some glitzed-up marketing package.
She began performing as a young child and claims that she “fell into acting” in the way that only someone who grew up in Los Angeles really can. She was spotted singing at a school concert by an agent and was encouraged to go to some auditions. “I was vehemently turned away from all of the kiddie auditions,” says Stewart. “I never got any commercials or anything on the Disney Channel. I was always much too serious.”
She started to get some movie roles, including playing Jodie Foster’s daughter in Panic Room. Foster is the actress she is often compared to, but after starring alongside her and studying her every move, Stewart then had to return to school, which she discovered had now become an uncompromising world.
“It was terrible. I hated going back to school. I did Panic Room when I was in the sixth grade. Even though it was just one movie and wasn’t a big deal, people would come up and scream at me in the halls. People were actually mean. They weren’t nice at all and I got all this attention and so I just changed schools. I thought it was people who I’d grown up with just being rude, but it still continued. Kids are mean. It was terrible.”
Aside from Foster, Stewart has worked with Sean Penn on Into the Wild and recently played Robert De Niro’s daughter in What Just Happened? — established figures who, she says, she watches to see exactly how they operate. Despite growing up in LA, as the daughter of an assistant director and a script supervisor, she is still learning what’s on offer as an actress.
“Recently, I had a meeting with Warren Beatty about a movie that he wants to do and he said a brilliant thing to me, which he said he had told Jodie. He said, ‘Access. You have access to everything now. Use it. Do something. Don’t just be an actor.’

This article actually made me fairly sad. Obviously a large number of Twilighters are obsessing over Rob, but Kristen doesn’t deserve to get the flip side of that. I’m hoping that the Robsession will die down and people will appreciate Kristen for her hard work and talent.
What did you think of this article? Were you surprised by anything of the things she said? Did you learn anything new?

I don’t understand why some kids can be so mean. I’ve watched the movie alot of times and think she did a great job playing the part of bell. Even though I didn’t read the books until after watching the movie, I still think she did a really good job. When I started reading the movie I’d still picture her as being bell. Plus all the other people whom played a part in the movie. I hope she’ll be in the next one long with everyone else who played in the first movie.
I can’t wait for the obsession around Rob to die down, too. I mean, ENOUGH already! Kristen did an amazing job on Twilight and she’s an amazing actor. I’m sure that she’s not envious of the amount of attention Rob is getting, but she definitely doesn’t deserve ill treatment from the fans. She is just as important to the movie as Rob is.
People are really going to see her acting prowess at its best in New Moon.
I loved this line in the article “The plus side is that as soon as Twilight’s hardcore following find out, she’ll no longer have to deal with those jealous fans.” You better believe it. Some people are mental. Why the heck would they be so rude to her? She is such a great Bella. She understands her character. I also love how she clarified this is not a really a teen novel. She gets it. We, as fans, are really lucky she took the part. We need to respect her, and Rob.
What I love about Kristen is she really seems to know who she is. She knows what she wants, and doesn’t want. She would be happy doing low key movies after the Twilight Saga movies. She is mature beyond her years.
Now for the smoking marijuana, I thought it came out that was from a movie. Even then, I don’t like marijuana, but it isn’t like she is killing babies. Give the girl a break! She is a good hearted person, you can tell.
In honesty, I thought Kristen did a much more amazing job at playing Bella than Rob did at playing Edward. I discovered Rob is definitely not my Edward, but Kristen fit as Bella so, SO well. She doesn’t deserve what she’s been through. I think she’s wonderful. This article made me so sad
I believe Kristen did an “excellent” job in the movie Twilight. The movie wasn’t a success without her. Now, whenever I read/re-read the four Twilight books, I always picture Kristen as Bella….she’s perfect for the role. With the kids obsessed with Rob situation, I think that’s the way it is….an obsession and it’s going to be tough to “reason” with it. But I firmly believe though that this is not the same sentiment with the whole hardcore Twilight fans. We love Kristen in this movie, she did an amazing job and as important as Rob in the whole Twilight Saga. To all the die-hard fans that were mean to Kristen, please be kind girls….Kristen(”Bella”) is important to Rob(”Edward”), you don’t want him to be disappointed right? Kristen, you have lots of fans too…so hang in there!!!
This movie is bringing out irrationally strong emotions in girls! Weird. Someone should do a psychological study about this reaction. Kristen I’m sending out warm loving vibes to you!
I have to say though that you don’t just walk around looking “serious”… you look, well, mad and disgusted with everyone. I want you to know because that really draws the mean responses toward you.
Kids can be awful sometimes but she needs to try to ignore those people and be very proud of what she did. I think she played Bella perfectly, in fact whenever I was reading the books I would picture her as being Bella.
First of all, I want to say I am not on any one’s side However, I don’t know why she is bothered about the fans/kids. Come on, in interviews she doesn’t smile or I mean show any emotions that she is happy to have gotten this far. In show business people can either hate you or like you and if you want people to accept you, you’ve got to start acting nice. I know she is quite young!! But we need some warmth at least.
She is a good actress and so is her co-star so let it be.
I love Rob and all, but if I went to a signing I soo would pay attention to Kristen. She did a freakin awesome job as Bella! People are just jealous of her because she got the closest to Edward Cullen as any person in the real world will ever get. If I was her I would laugh at all the girls who did that! That is just immature. Kristen is amazing, ok!!
First and foremost, Kristen Stewart was AMAZING as Bella. I don’t think ANYONE could have portrayed her better.
Second, why should people be HARSH to her because they are obsessed with Rob’s portrayal of a FICTIONAL character?! I mean, really, she’s ACTING when she kisses him, IT IS NOT REAL, and therefore nothing to be jealous of!
I don’t get why people would be that way, I just don’t.
Poor K-Stew. We should make her some sort of thank you letter or something. We sent stuff to Rob but not our beloved Bella?:( Yeah, I loooove Kristen but it seems like people care more about the ‘Edward’ than the ‘Bells’. I guess thats what we get for having a female driven fanbase.lol TEAM KRISTEN! GO TEAM KRISTEN! Her acting is amazing and I can’t wait to see her next movies, not just because she played Bella but because she is an awesome actress. She is grounded and the farthest thing away from the next ditzy little actress in hollywood. I love that she can be such a strong person.
Kristen isn’t just talking about how people kind of snub her off because of her role with Bella. She’s talking about in general how ever since she started acting and getting movie roles, the kids were horrible to her. Every young actor/actress has gone through that and I sympathized for her.
It’s to bad that kids are so mean. They are just jealous of Kristen, she did an amazing job as Bella in Twilight. Kristen just has to remember that she is the mature one. Rob is very talented and sometimes gets to much attention, the fans also need to acknowledge Kristen for her talents. When New Moon comes out she can show the fans what she is made of. She is one awesome actress! Rob & Kristen fit in a special category….”one of a kind”. I hope they get a chance to work together in another movie other than Twilight. I can see Kristen five years down the line…she will surprise all!
I totally agree with edalacruz…Yes Rob is stunning and a brilliant actor. However Kristen is Amazing!! She really is a fantastic actor from how much of her work I have seen. People are just too mean in this world and She will get her chance when New Moon is released!! I think the people who are ill treating her an envious of her as they don’t have what she has…which is PURE TALLENT. Keep up the fantastic work Kristen!
GGGRRRRRR…STOP BEING MEAN TO KRISTEN…GGGRRR
That does make me sad, that some people are more eager to see Rob then Kristen. I love Rob, but seriously people, its getting a little out of hand. Kristen blew me away in Twilight (Why people call her “wooden” is beyond me) and sometimes she even out shined Robert IMO. I think we should do a Kristen Appreciation project. Because she really deserves it. I’ve been a fan of Kristen even before she got cast in Twilight, and it makes me sad that people are just looking over her and her talent just because Rob is hotter. Rob is an amazing guy, but lets not forget about Kristen!
I really feel for her! I’ve seen her in a few other things and have always thought she is a super talented actress, especially for being so young! Boo to Hollywood and “Twilight fans” if they can’t see that. I have read all of the Twilight series and to be quite honest Bella was my least favorite character in them…that is until I saw Kristen’s portrayal of her on screen. For me at least, Kristen really brought Bella to life and made me appreciate and identify with her in ways the books never did! In my eyes she deserves just as much recognition for that, if not more, than Rob. Rob did an amazing job too, but really how hard is it to make a super hunky, charming, sensitive guy likable? She captured Bella to a T and I really can’t wait to see her performance in the New Moon.
Its really sad that this is happening to Kristen. Honestly, she did an amazing job, so good that I had to check out some of her other work. Rob did well too. When I first heard about the movie, I watched Harry Potter 4 (For Rob) and Speak (For Kristen). I was impressed with both. I mean, she’s so talented and she understands Bella and her role perfectly. I’m glad they chose her, and I loved the movie. It was extraordinary. I just can’t see why people would be mean to her. I’d be so thrilled if I got the chance to meet her and get her autograph!
I would feel sorry for her, except that she behaves like a sullen child in every interview, and is actually quite rude to Rob in some. She needs to grow up - she’s 18, and a professional.
i dont see why people are so mean to her i think she is a great actress i wish people would cut her some slack.
aww that was so sad to read. I don’t think people really hate her, but girls are probably just jealous because really, who wouldn’t want to be in her position?
Hopefully people recognize Kristen for the great actress she is. Both she and Rob are amazingly talented. I’ve watched some of their other movies and they are both just incredible at what they do. So, hopefully things lighten up for her. It’s sad to see that she feels that way. She seems like a pretty cool person, people should give her a chance.
i am a bit bias, since i started reading the books after i found out kristen was playing bella, i have seen most of her other movies, and i think she is a really talented actress. Personally i see lots of my self in her, not sure if its because i would like to see myself as such a strong person or somthing else.
and rob .. yeah he is decent looking , but he plays a charator … he isn’t actually like that. And well edward isnt the most AMAZING charator … he’s not funny and how the hell wants to be in a relationship where they dont make you laugh.
Kristen was a horrible Bella. End of story. She didn’t even know what Twilight was until they started filming. She doesn’t even look like how most people imagine Bella. And now her face is everywhere, websites, book covers. Call me what you may, but trust me…there are MILLIONS of people who feel the same way I do. And BTW, she did a HORRIBLE job in the hospital scene. Seriously, I thought she was having a seizure by the way that she was stuttering. I felt embarrassed for her. And people were laughing in that part. She messed Twilight up. And NOTHING will change my mind about her.
aw…that sucks…kristen is so sweet and beautiful…it’s smth about her face that makes her cute and sexy in the same time…and she is right: kids are mean!…go kris:D:*
the thing with me is that like someone else said the way she comes off in interviews is what put me off of her- it’s very rude and kinda b*tchy, almost as if she doesn’t want to be there at all. i’m sure she’s tired of talking about twilight but quite frankly it’s her job to fullfill those obligations! the fact that she was the worst thing in twilight didn’t help things either…her talent is over rated. she plays the same dull lifeless character in everything she in! why be offended that all the girls want rob’s autograph and not hers anyway? i mean surely rob gets snubbed by some who don’t think he’s their ‘edward’…
Delilah, you are so wrong. Kristen was excellent as Bella and got many outstanding reviews:
“The most vivid thing in the film is Kristen Stewart. … she’s better at conveying physical longing than any of the actors playing vampires. She alone suggests how this series was born, in the mind of a young Mormon girl who had to sublimate like mad with thoughts of having her blood sucked.” - New York Magazine
“It’s the pretty Stewart who holds the movie together, bracing the largely passive character of Bella with glimmers of spirit and determination.” - MTV
“Stewart is an ideal casting choice — she conveys Bella’s detachment, as well as her need to bust through it.” - EW
“Stewart brings just the right blend of ferocity and feeling to the role of Bella Swan.” - Rolling stone
I find it really surprising that ALL the fans don’t love Kristen as Bella! She fits what I pictured as Bella perfectly! Rob on the other hand, I’m rather disappointed with…. am I really the only one that feels this way?
I’d like to know how many of you would *not* take it at all badly if you were being run over by people to give credit to the person standing next to you when you had put just as much blood, sweat and tears into the project.
Don’t jump to answer the question…actually think about it.
And by the way, she may be 18 and a professional, but that does not make her immune to feeling like she’s been overlooked, kicked, and/or let down. And at 18, not many people have their game face together very well. So if she shows it, I sure don’t blame her.
Don’t like her version of Bella? Go read your book and keep your arse out of the theater then. I’ll have your ticket.
It just goes to prove that Stephanie gets who Jessica is. There are alot of gals like the insecure, jealous character, Jessica. Kristen is very much the correct portrayal, as is Edward. The chemistry between the two was absolutely awesome. In fact I liked all of the actors. Can’t sit still waiting for the next one…New Moon
I think Kristen is the perfect Bella! I do kinda feel bad for her though, to be 18 and have all that craziness suddenly surrounding you! It takes a very strong person to see it for what it really is and not get carried away. Seems to me like she’s doing just fine!
I thought Kristen’s performance in Twilight was phenomenal. The whole buzz around Rob is ridiculous… i mean all he did in the movie was pout. He was good in his own way but honestly Kristen’s performance was what stood out in Twilight. People need to understand that Edward and Bella are fictional. Kristen is a great actress and very down to earth in person and i cannot wait for her upcoming movies.
Oh. My. God. She’s so beautiful.. and talented.. I wish her all the best really.. I’m so sick and tired of these so-called celebrities from The Hills, or 90210, etc. All they care about is being seen on the red carpet or being photographed by the paparazzi at clubs and parties.. There should be more real actresses like KStew.. Granted, she may not have perfected her acting skills as of yet, but come on, she’s 18.. she’s quite advanced at that rate and she will improve some more for sure. People should be nicer to her because she’s down to earth and she doesnt have that “I’m so popular” attitude.
WOW! I have an eighteen year old daughter who is just getting ready to attend collage. I really think that is is quite unbelievable what they expect of this young women. Not only does she have to act well(which she does) she is expected to answer the same questions over and over again. She is suppose to be perfect and let everyone into her personal life. I commendher for what she has done so far. I am sure even at my age(39) I would not beable to handle it, I cannot imagine my daughter being able to do it. Remember that this is her job and she is doing it very well.Robert and her both did a wonderful job of the movie. I think that it is quite sad that she will probably never get to experience young adulthood like most people do
Wow-I honestly never thought that Twilight fans would or could be mean to Kristen.Guys don’t do that. She is absolutely amazing I adore her.I loved her before Twilight, she was amazing in all of her movie, she is such an amazing actress,so talented with such obvious rich inner world, soulful and intelligent-and she is only 18-for pit sake.Plus she is really good person-she’s not stuck up,not superficial, not some fame-hungry wanna be actress.Wow how rude and insensitive do you have to be to just walk by her and be like “I don’t want you autograph”.I adore Robert obviously he is also this incredible talented actor and amazing person in real life but me liking Kristen has nothing to do with her playing love of his life in Twilight-I love her for who she is-and I would never do something so cruel to anyone. How sad.
To be honest, I feel bad for her. Sure, most people go to autograph signings to see Rob, but why not her too? I thought she did quite well in the movie, and if given the chance, I’d like to meet both Rob AND her. People are mean.
Kristen Stewart is an AMAZING actress. I have seen many of her movies and she is SUPERBLY talented.
She and Robert Pattinson make a great pair together and I felt the chemeistry between them on screen.
She deserves as many accolades as Robert.
She should also be more careful of the ‘long-lense”.
Why are ppl so mean to her? Like at signings and stuff when she said
“We have to do autograph signings occasionally and usually everyone is so nice and excited but sometimes they just walk by and if their expressions spoke they would say, ‘We’re not here for you, we’re here for Rob. Don’t think you’re so special. We don’t even want your autograph”
i really don’t understand that… it’s just a movie why be so jealous of her? And if you got nothing good to say then don’t say it! I love kristen stewart and she’s one of my role-models. She’s one of the best actress’s i’ve seen and she’s so nice and so pretty.
I loved her acting from the first time I saw her in “Speak”, and I had read the book first…Kudos to you, Miss Stewart…You have some major fans out in Phx, AZ!!!
I think she really needs a hug, :[
Personally think she is an absolutely superb actress, and is my perfect Bella. And she’s so gorgeous and she seems really nice and down to earth.
I guess if you don’t like her that’s no reason to be mean to her.
I’m certain you probably won’t read this Kristen, but I wish you the best of luck and think you extremely talented and gorgeous and down to earth.
I am a little biased here but I got interested in Twilight simply because I read Kristen got the part of Bella, and once I saw just the first little teaser trailer, I was hooked. Then, I read the books.
I hope she realizes that those so-called “fans” are just jealous of her. That’s all it is-they want to kiss “Edward” and see themselves as Bella when they read the books. It is sad that girls act like this instead of supporting each other, but that’s the way it is.
Kristen is a great actress already and will get better still and I look forward to seeing her win that Oscar or Golden Globe or both, someday. Loved the whole cast but without the right Bella, the movie wouldn’t have even got made. And Kristen picked Robert so all of these so-called fans should be thanking her profusely! And the chemistry between them is awesome.
I feel bad for her, I really do. No one should have to feel as though they are treated like that…but she needs to grow a thick skin and fast in this profession. I agree that she does come off rude and sulky in her interviews so that doesn’t help her. Most of the time we get the feeling that she is irritated to even be there…now having said that, if I had to answer the same questions over and over for months I would probably run away to a deserted island to escape from the constant pressure!
As a drama teacher and freelance journalist, I can say that this: she also needs to be aware that body language and facial expressions are just as important, if not more important, than what she says. That is a huge factor in dealing with interviewers, fans and in acting a role…she really needs more training and experience in that - and she is quite young, so with time she will develop that hopefully.
I will admit she is a good actress…WITH THE RIGHT PART. Twilight’s Bella was NOT the right part for her. She overacted in some scenes (the hospital by far the worst - very painful to watch (embarrasing)), in some she seemed to force her face and body to do what the part required, and in other scenes she was just completely unconvincing as one who is supposed to be completely infatuated and in love with Edward. She came off more like she was tolerating him for some reason rather than falling in love with him. That was something that did not happen with Rob’s portrayal of Edward, while there were times that it may have been a little bit overdone briefly, Rob was overall great with his deliverance of lines and emotional feeling and he had great body language.
I’m sure with better direction and a better editing team, Stewart might have had a better portrayal on screen for all we know…we have only seen what they edited into the film and not everything they shot or cut out.
In my opinion, direction plays a HUGE part in the success of a movie and it’s transiiton to the big screen. While I do like her other films, Hardwicke was NOT the right director for this film and as such the film felt slapped together in parts. She is too edgy for this type of book-to-film transfer.
The relationship development in the movie was whiplash-quick and felt completely disjointed throughout…while some of the scenes that were not even in the book were good transitions, others were thrown in there that made us all feel “what was that for?” - there seemed no reason to have them there, a big no-no in my book.
This might also contribute to the wide fan-base that were dissatisfied with Stewart’s Bella, for - again - we have no idea what things were cut out, what they made Stewart change in her portrayal, etc….
Kristin, you are my pick for Bella. Rob is my pick for Edward. I can’t think of another person who could play the parts the way you two did. You are a beautiful girl and a great actress. Even my son who is a 19 year old football playing, weight lifting jock can’t wait for the next movie to come out.
Kristen - I’m sorry that people can be so mean. I’ve been the butt of mean people stuff all of my life, and it still hurts when I think about stuff people said about and to me when I was younger. I shed a lot of tears, and I still do, when people say mean things. Just remember who you are, and what you stand for, and try to take the mean things people say with a grain of salt. I know, it’s hard. I can’t even take my own advice. But not every body was taught “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all”. Enjoy your success.
Kristin we love you! Don’t listen to those girls. They’re just jealous of you!
Kids are mean, but the only reason they’re so mean to Kristin and people who have success is because they are jealous. Girls are really bad with jealousy and tend to take it too far sometimes.
I hope Kristin knows that we love her and that they couldn’t have found a more perfect Bella!
aww, i feel bed for kstew
i think she’s really cool, i would never walk away from her if i could get her autograph
and i feel bad for her for when she went to school and the kids made fun of her
that would’ve sucked,
:(
Ok, so I watched Twilight on its first weekend showing and was haunted by the story the whole weekend through. So I went out to Barnes and Noble and bought all four books in the series as I had never even heard of them prior to watching the movie. I finished all four books that weekend. Then I went back and watched the movie again in theaters 3 more times. I have never done anything like that with any other movie in my life.
I have to say that I agree with the general tone of the comments here. I thought all the actors were well cast (even though I do still think that Taylor Lautner is too short for Jacob, but who cares! we all love him!), and all of them played their parts very well.
I do feel like the problem with the movie was the script and the direction. It felt like the essence of the story was lost in their attempt to make the movie entertaining. When I read the book, there were moments where Bella’s inner commentary had me rolling on the floor with laughter. Which is why I wish they’d stayed more true to the book. But oh well. Hopefully they’ll do it right for New Moon.
As for the way people are treating Kristen. It’s stupid and childish. Personally, I’m not much into getting people’s autographs or such. If I love and actor or actress I simply express it through a commitment to watching their work faithfully. Which is why I am going to be going to the first weekend showing of both Adventureland and Little Ashes.
Kristen is very talented. She has that subtle and very rare talent for expressing a million emotions through her eyes. The same with Robert. They’re both very good. The only reason Rob is more popular is because he seems friendlier during interviews. If you pay attention to their body language though, both Rob and Kristen are very private people and very uncomfortable with attention. Rob’s defense mechanism is to joke about everything. Kristen’s defense mechanism is to keep quiet. And that’s all there is to it.
People just need to stop judging and being jealous. Envy is fine because it pushes you to improve yourself. But jealousy really poisons you. So I hope these kids who were mean to her get over themselves long enough to grow up.
Roba and Kris, I love you both!!!!
Good luck for the future and I am waiting for New Moon!
Sorry guys, but maybe if Kristen was a little friendlier in her interviews, then people might gravitate toward her a little more…have you ever watched her? She is a complete snob, I have seen her literally roll her eyes when asked a question by an interviewer. I understand that this is all new to her, and she may not know how to handle it all yet - but she comes off as condescending to her fans, in my opinion.
It’s very sad to hear that kids are mean. But they are. To everyone. Not just to people who are actors but to the ones who are poor, smelly, stupid, etc. You name it and kids will be mean about it-they don’t know any better. I have to agree, though, that she doesn’t invite much positive attention with her mannerisms. In most interviews she seems annoyed and put-off. I get that she is 18. But she was also in a movie-a large part of acting is the publicity. She doesn’t do a good job of presenting herself in public. This isn’t all her fault-Summit should have gotten her an image consultant. But, really, if you walk around with a frown on your face all the time…What can you expect?
That sucks that she feels so left out when fans go see them. I would feel the same way if I were her. Heck, I’d give her all of my attention just for her instead of Rob, just to make her feel special.
I LOVE Kristen.I think she’s unique and really talented.I think she’s got a bright future ahead of her and who cares if she’s a “snob” in the interviews? I mean, i never saw that she is,really. In fact, she’s not used to it and tries really hard into giving the best answer to please everyone that i feel bad.And i think in that process she sometimes got frustrated and tired that she slipped a lil. If it was me,i would walk away crying. Its a lot of attention and pressure in a short space of time. Its a shame that everyone expects her to behave a certain way just couse she’s involved in this phenomenon.
She admitted that she’s just not good in all those side stuff besides acting.I can’t see any wrong with that!
I couldn’t think of anyone else would play Bella.Well there is a LOt of good actresses out there, but the thing about Kristen she brings authencity into that character that I never thought would work.
And if I could meet her,I would just die!!!the same would apply to Rob as well!
it was funny
She wasnt meant to act in a teen movie.
Was very talented and should have gone on with festival movies. Even the way she looked, spoke etc were not for these kind of movies.
I guess noone can resist the temptation when offered a huge fame.
Sorry guys, but I really don’t understand people’s obsession with Rob. AT ALL.
Kristen is amazing. Period.
Someone should start a website thanking her for all of her hard work!!!!!!!!
ok…im a huge fan of this series and i love rob and kristen both. however….rob didnt quite fit into the edward persona i had imagined, and kristen fit the description perfectly…in my opinion. Now, this is my opinion, and i agree with the ones who say she seems rude. In her interviews she seems boring and concieted. I dont think shes like this in real life, and she may not be used to all this fame, but when you enter a huge francise like this, you have to expect all this attention. If she were to smile more often and seem more “alive” in her interviews, i think people will gravitate towards her more. On a ending note, she has tons of fans. The reason she hasnt gotten as much attention is because Twilight is mostly written for girls, and girls are naturally gonna talk and obsess about hot guys(fyi….robert), and i think the spoof about him will go down and kristen will get her time in the spotlight. Let me just end by saying that she has an amazing acting talent, and should be praised. =]
I’m far from a teenager..and I was totally impressed by Kristen’s performance..
The chemistry was perfect between her and Rob.. Casting was perfect.. Each actor brought their character alive just like the book did for me.. In my opinion Kristen is a professional.. She knows what she is doing… and I admire that.. Twilight is an excellent film and we are very anxious to see more.. Thank you Kristen.. Just wish there was a way to tell you… Have no fear.. There are more fans in your court than you can imagine..
It’s ridiculous how low some people stoop to show their jealously. Kristen was brilliant in the film, and after reading all four books and seeing the movie many times, I don’t want anyone else to play the part. Robert’s fans are being extremely shallow to the point where it’s pathetic. It’s fine if some people don’t want her autograph, she doesn’t need to know that. I think that Kristen is very mature with her career. She doesn’t really love the media attention (such as the interviews), and she doesn’t label herself as something other than human. I think that people should respect not bash her for that. Just brush those comments off Kristen :]
I dont kno wats wrong with everybody…..Kristen is my fave actress and she does an ausome job. I’ve so far seen 4 of her movies. I dont kno y ppl yell at her…….I mean its supposed to be KRISTEN&ROBERT not ROBERT&KRISTEN. Its “Bella’s” pov (point of view) not Edward’s. Bella’s the main actor. Kristen is so much better than Robert just saying. And I totally agree with all u guyz, ROBERT OBBSESSIERS are really getting on my nerves…..i mean not to be rude or anything but….WE GET IT U LUV ROBERT!! NOW STOP TALKING ABOUT DATING HIM, MARRYING HIM, KISSING HIM, AND ETC.! ITS REALLY UNLIKELY!!! SO JUST STOP!!!!! *Agh*
I think its really pittiful. Yes, Robert is hot, I’m not gonna deny that, but that shouldn’t have anything to do with how they view Kristen. She is talented, and my idol. The “Roboholics” need to grasp the fact that they are too young—and not to mention too normal— for him. He is a great actor, but Kristen deserves some notice too.
man people can be itiots kristen did an outstanding job about pertraying bella. personaly she is the best actor of our time, so far. i know she can seem to have “no emotion”, to me in her movies theirs a lot of intence great emotion so everyone just let it go and stop being jealous of her.
that is so messed-up. i would never say something like that to her if i were jealous id just simply keep my mouth shut. because it feels realy bad if someone said that to u.
I think it’s sad that people would be mean to anyone, period, though I can understand why people might have strong feelings. Since the book was so famous she’s under a lot of pressure to be good, and if people don’t like they way she plays something they’ll be upset. So really stay away from mean people, but understand its just them seeing the character differently or being jealous i guess.
I love you kristen stewart even though i am a girl i think you are a gorgeous actress i wish i could be as gorgeous as you are i am a number 1 big fan i think that people are just bastereds who are mean and nasty to others so just ignore them eventually it will have to stop beleive me i know how you feel even though im not famous so good luck in the future love you have a great year!
Kristen is an amazing actress, she portrayed Bella perfectly i first saw her in twilight and i loved her performance that i actually went to get a couple of movies she played in. Robert is hot and all but i really think Kristen did a better job and she’s so pretty without make up so teenage girls need to get over their obsession with rob “someone who would never actually remember who they are or who they’ll never meet” and appreciate kristen. she shouldn’t let them get her down because she’s someone and they’re not oh and robert likes her too.
