KROQ: MUSE TALKS ‘TWLIGHT’ AND STEPHENIE MEYER

Posted September 15th, 2009 By: Evie 4 Comments »

KROQ’s morning show with Kevin and Bean had Muse on their show to talk about their new album, their upcoming concerts in the US and their influence on Stephenie Meyer and the Twilight world.

You can listen to the fantastic five-part interview with Muse (including their music!) here.

(Thanks to Boo and Emily!)

If you haven’t already listened to this interview I highly recommend it. The guys in Muse are really entertaining and funny. They really had a lot of nice things to say about Stephenie Meyer too. Clearly they are flattered to have had such an influence on her work. I think I fell in love with Muse a little bit more in this interview, and I’m not even sure how that’s possible. Make sure you check out Muse’s new album The Resistance!

What did you think of this interview with Muse? Do you like their new album?

Oh wow! I’m with you on this again!! I don’t know how it’s possible to love them more, but i somehow do! YAY!!! That was one of the longest interviews I’ve ever listened to!!! But it was so worth it! Can’t wait to see them live! Counting the days! YAY!!!

I have loved Muse for several years now. My girls are not fans (though they are of so many others I listen to…) I keep trying to point out Matthew Bellamy has such a fantabulous voice. I finally showed them how hard it is to sing with such exhuberance as he does by singing part of a song in chest voice vs. head voice and how hard it is to sound good in either.

I am so happy Muse as well as Death Cab seem to be two bands among other cool ones on the album coming on Oct 10!!!

I am a HUGE fan of Muse, Death Cab for cutie and Radiohead. So Im on cloud nine about this album! Chris W is my hero! I had Muse’s song Starlight on my i-pod for the longest time, then read Twilight and got the album and BAM I am in awe of Muses work! Their so increadibly unique. As soon as I can Im download their album from i-tunes.

AND, they blew away any other performance on the VMA’s!

Muse says: “no religion or mind virus”, and Stephenie Meyer is a mormon. I just can't understand what they've got in common. Also, Muse is the best band ever (with The Beatles), and Meyer is the worst writer ever… dunno, really…
