TWILIGHT COUNTDOWN – DAY 2

Posted October 23rd, 2008 By: Team Switzerland 29 Comments »

For the second day of their “Twilight Countdown”, The LA Times has given us an exclusive picture of Robert Pattinson (Edward).

Here is the picture and what they have to say about it:

29 days left…

In today’s gift bag we have this exclusive shot of Robert Pattinson taken earlier this month for an upcoming story about “Twilight” in The Times. Publish date: Nov. 2. Write it down.)

You’re welcome.

I now welcome your thoughts on it. The facial hair, I think, is very un-Edward. (Could Bella’s marble prince even grow facial hair? It seems unlikely). But do we like it just the same? Does it make Robert sexier? More smoldering?

Or just too Wolverine?

One word for that picture: glorious. I think Rob looks great with some wolverine scruff.

What do you think? Beard or no beard?

not a fan. the mountain man looks is gross imo.
    he looks really tired too.

  • http://twilightersanonymous lori

The beard and mustache does nothing for me or for Rob…I like the clean cut look to see his face!

  • Tippy

That man is gorgeous. He could wear a suit of bees and still be beautiful. SO not fair! He’s beautiful, he can act, he can sing and he has the cutest laugh AND a British accent….the Lord blessed him with both hands…that’s all I’m saying…

  • Emmy

Yeah I’m not a fan of it either.
Not a fan of beards or as Dawn phrased it “the Mountain Man Look”. lol.

I think he looks better clean shaven.

  • Nikki

I’m not a huge fan either, but who knows, maybe he’s doing another movie. Maybe, he’s just trying to hide. He did say he doesn’t like to shave. Maybe he just doesn’t want to shave. Doesn’t really matter. He’s still unbelievably goodlooking.

  • VanessaC

I have to say, I love Rob, and I’ve heard he hates to shave, but I wish he didn’t… Im TOTALLY not a fan of facial hair, and although there are definitely some ppl that can pull it off and still look gorgeos, Rob (imo) isn’t one of them… no offense, I love him no matter what, but I just don’t like the beard… the only good thing about it is HotHoboLove, b/c you GOTTA love HotHoboLove… and now it’s dead, b/c Tom and Rob have both shaved… tear. In all honesty though, I’m pretty much celebrating the death of HotHoboLove, since Rob and Tom both look a million times better w/out their hobo beards… although I have a feeling HotHoboLove will come back from the dead b4 too long (as soon as Rob and Tom don’t have to shave for movies/promotions, etc.). Anyway, SO glad Rob shaved b4 the Sex Drive premiere… such a beautiful face and jawline, why hide it behind a scruffy hobo beard? (although, maybe there’s some inside joke behind that… like w/the infamous “green plaid shirt”… lol I really hope some ppl watch Tech/ToujOursPur on YouTube, b/c otherwise this post will seem like complete nonsense… oh well. sorry if this is nonsensical, but you really should check out ToujOursPur’s vids on YouTube. They’re hilarious.) So, although I love this pic (b/c it’s Rob and he always looks great), I think it’d be like 50 million times better minus the facial hair :)

I like Rob with a little scruff… but this is just a little too Wolverine for me. Count it in with his ‘unicorn forest’ of hair and you’ve got some major hair craziness going on.
But, honestly, no matter what he looked like, I’d still find him incredibly attractive. Really, what woman wouldn’t forget to breathe around him? XD

  • Val

I think he looks great either way. With the beard he looks a little older, I think. But he also looks amazing clean shaven. His eyes look very intense in this shot.

  • Leann

Me likee. Of course, I’ve always liked men with facial hair… :)

  • sarah

yeah .. he looks too “mountain man-ish” but i will give him this , he looks very mature !

  • http://www.twilighters.org Hollie

i think that he looks sexi lol but it is very un-edwardish but i luv rob anyway he is very hot both ways i cant wait till twilight the movie…

  • Beth

see I totally disagree! I think it makes him look hotter!! I think he is a cute guy without the hair but man is he hot like that!!!

I think the extra hair on his face helps with his HUGE eyebrows, they do not appear as noticable.

  • Lauren_Cullen

A little too Wolverine for my taste, but still cute. He could probably do just about anything and still look cute.

  • Ana

I kind of like it. Remember this is Robert Pattinson picture NOT Edward Cullen. But it’s kind smoldering I like it. I still prefer clean face though, but a change every now and then is good to me :)

  • jen

hHe looks gorgeous with or without the beard. I do love to see his famous jawline though. I love the intensity in his eyes.

  • S. Cullen

    i think its VERY un-edwardish.
he doesn’t look nice and clean that way.lol
don’t turn him into a dog!

  • kerri

I think he looks sooooo hot! Beard or no beard. We all learned he hates to shave thanks to his co-stars. I wonder if it’s for a role or rebelling against the vampire look? Whatever the reason he is always gorgeous. Im ashamedly admiting, he is the only man that makes me blush and get dizzy just looking at him. Im not kidding, am I alone? Rob is the only one to dazzle me, ever! I always admired Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom but theres somthing…beautiful about Rob.

  • Kytanna

Im not a fan of the beard/stach….he’s let it go too long. But when he’s a few days scruffy, he looks good. My husband doesnt like to shave either (he has to for work, but on weekends he does the scruffy thing).
The thing i noticed first off is that his eye looks puffy! Whats up with that? The other eye looks fine, but the left in the pic looks really puffy on bottom lid. hmmm.

“Are you afraid?” NOT ME! I’ll take him any way he likes! /giggle

  • Melissa

No thanks…last time i checked he was a vamp in twilight not tom hanks in castaway.
But still, its hard to go wrong with that amazingly gorgeous face of his.

  • Jen

I hate facial hair with a passion… but… Rob does pull it off pretty well. I would still vote no facial hair, but I could live with it on him. He seems to be able to pull off anything. ;-)

  • Sabrina Cullen

    EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

  • http://twilightersanonymous.com Wolfsbane

How would you even shave superstrong vampire stubble? =p

  • runs with vampires

I agree Wolfsbane, how would you? Even better – this would be Edward’s look when he left Bella for her own good to run off to track Victoria (IF he could grow facial hair). He’s being a Mr. Man, it’s a guy thing. My ex-husband used to do this every year from beginning of December to New Years Eve; not shave…. yeah I know but that’s not why I divorced him. But back to handsome Rob — isn’t he preparing for a new movie? He’s one of those deep actors that really likes to get into character BEFORE the movie right? ***remember how he flew out to Portland like a month before Twilight started to isolate himself to get all “Edward-like” — So maybe that’s what the facial hair is for? And he is still Gorgeous, how can he not be?

  • Rach

Naw.. not to my liking.. Too much Ned Kelly-esque.

  • rochelle

while i adore the polished edward look more, i still like him even with facial hair. it’s scruffy, sure, but he’s soo sexy alllll the time. i bet if you met him looking lke this his beard would be the last thing you’d be thinking about… your heart would be tripping over itself just the same.

  • Jan

I think he’s handsome either way. But I prefer the clean cut look on him.

  • Trudy

I love it!!!! Of course I:m not a 13 year old girl and i like my men to look like men… so I thinks it’s super sexy!

  • Ali

lol yea i think he needs to shave…alot!!
    but hes still cute lol

  • Tina

Reminds me of Ewan McGregor as Obe-Wan Kenobi (Star Wars Episodes I, II, and III)
