Chris Weitz NEEDS to do Breaking Dawn. I just saw Eclipse and it looked terrible and visually was a complete disappointment. New Moon was perfect all around. WE NEED CHRIS!

I just finished watching New Moon (for the first time) on DVD and I have to say I was simply BLOWN AWAY!!! Chris Weitz, and everyone else involved with N.M., absolutely NAILED IT!! In my experience, and I've been around for 42 years, I've never had a book I've read (5 times btw) and enjoyed so much adapted as perfectly to the big screen. I'm sure many of you have your examples of well done books to screen but in this case this film touched on enough of what I considered critical moments and plot points (even small ones) that made watching this movie one of my entertainment high points of 2010!! If Chris Weitz can recreate that magic for the 2 part Breaking Dawn films then I'm 100% for it at this point. For how long though I don't know, I haven't seen David Slade's version of Eclipse yet....

ACTING-AUDITIONS.ORG is saying they have the name of the Breaking Dawn casting director. This 100% FALSE! There is no director for Breaking Dawn yet and there has also been NO casting director hired for the film. Do not be taken in by acting-auditions.org's blatent scam-like methods.

What about Ang Lee - he made Lust Caution - such an amazing movie - he got just the right tone and emotional pitch for a tragic love story and a fairly heavy sex scene that was integral to the story not gratuitous - he could handle the birth really well

PLEASE NOT WEITZ! a director who read the books and who puts in pivotal parts in the movie and doesn't add things that don't work! Summit is making soo much money! they need to spend it on making a great film! and not just think there making a film to satisfy teenage girls! just because i love twilight! doesn't mean i don't know great film making. lord of the ring trilogy is my favorite movies. Peter Jackson would be my first thought. idk Raimi? Len? amazing list! and Catherine did an amazing job with twilight! that movie made me read the whole book series in a week!

Twilight was so much more intense then New Moon. Catherine Hardwicke's directing created an erotic mysterious edge to Twilight. New Moon did not engage you nearly as much. It was good don't get me wrong, but that was about it, simply good not near as captivating as Twilight. The intriguing way Catherine Hardwick made Twilight a darker but sweet romance pulled people in just as each of the novels did to the point that you could not take your eyes off the screen. Catherine Hardwicke should be top choice for the directing of Breaking Dawn.

Each one of them would simply be GREAT LUCK!! BUT...

By the time we reach the fourth book "movie" the saga will be such a box office that will easily have enough finance to support the max. SFX possible. Therefore I'm not concerned about the effects. What makes these books so unique (and a big success) are neither the werewolves nor the vampires. Is simply the excellent and vivid descriptions of the most basic need of any human (or not as it turns out) to love and be loved. Meyer is an artist when it comes to grounding mythical creatures into the commonest everyday habits, feelings or events. It is essential that the director apart from handling SFX needs to be able to handle all the emotional load of the story without reducing it into a love story. i truly believe that Del Torro would be excellent for the task and I totally understand why some people suggest a woman for director. It makes perfect sense.

Anyone who thinks Catherine Hardwicke should direct Breaking Dawn needs a serious wake-up call!! Twilight was HORRIBLE!!!!! She would butcher Breaking Dawn!

Peter Jackson is incredible, and is my first pick for this position. Breaking Dawn is such a heavy book, and therefore needs a director that has experience SUCCESSFULLY turning a book into a movie. He SHOULD have done all the movies, but of course Summit doesn't want to spend money on a good director.
I think Chris will do much better than Catherine, but I think they need a more experienced director that has done long, detailed movies to direct Breaking Dawn.

I personally think a female director would be best for Breaking Dawn (not to be sexist), but guys probaly wouldn't be able to fully understand and show a womans perspective on wedding jitters, the wedding itself, honeymoon, first time sex jitters, pregnacy (the whole experiance), and motherhood. I think either Catherine Hardwick or Drew Barrymore.

Oscar winning Peter Jackson is my pick for Director of Breaking Dawn. This movie will be the most difficult to bring to the big screen because of its graphic and CG content. Just as difficult as JRR Tokien’s Lord of the Rings novel. Peter can handle the love story along with all the unnecessary gruesome parts in Breaking Dawn with brilliance, as he did in The Lord of the Rings trilogy. He can bring the balance needed.

People are not giving Guillermo Del Toro enough credit!! Pan's Labyrinth was a masterpiece! One of my favourite movies by far. BUUUT, i am addicted to the hp series and LOTR. Yes Del Toro made a comment on the movie twilight, but seriously. So did half of the twilight fans. Just imagine what kind of film he would create with all of his brilliant ideas! Breaking Dawn would be above and beyond. Watch Pan's Labyrinth and you will know what we are ALL talking about.
