Make-Up Artist is featuring New Moon’s Dakota Fanning on the cover of their issue 81 as part of a larger article on the make-up in New Moon. Normal Hill-Patton talks to Make-Up Artist about the make-up designs she created for the Cullen and Volturi vampires. Check out some images from the magazine below:

You can order a copy here.

An event you don’t want to miss if you’re in Toronto is the International Make-Up Artist Trade Show from Nov. 21-22. For show information see here. Norma Hill-Patton will be a keynote speaker, and she’ll recreate some of the New Moon make-up designs at the show.

(Thanks Cori!)

The make-up in New Moon seems to improved from Twilight. I think the vampires look a lot better this time around.

Do you like the make-up for the vampires from what you’ve see so far in New Moon?

Woahhh Jane’s eyes are really awesome. They are really creepy and bright. They really stand out against her white skin. Excellent job from what i have seen so far with the makeup and eyes!

I love that look for Jane!

Ok So i stumbled across this yesterday on lunch and thought I’d share. I have seen a lot of people trying to find a decent example of how to mimic the look of the movie new moon and this make up tutorial for new moon is great! this shows how to do the new moon make up for Jane, the new character from the Twilight Saga – Dakota Fanning.

    Check it out!

I have to say that I expected the makeup to not be so noticeable… there were times in the movie that I saw a noticable difference in shade between Alice’s face and neck… a serious makeup mistake AND editing boo-boo. Also, the vampire men (not women) had cakey-looking faces. I realize that men have rougher complexions than women, but couldn’t the men have had some exfoliating facial treatments to reduce that? Next time around, I would hope to see a more “natural” pale, instead of obvious makeup. I’m glad Edward’s lips weren’t so red this time, at least! I thought the red and amber eyes were fine, although some actors looked like their eyes were irritated from the contacts. Jacob looked amazing… not just the muscles, but his skin as well.

The Volturi didn’t bother me because their skin is supposed to look a little cake-like, but I did not like what she did with any of the Cullens, especially the men. It takes alot to make Rob Pattinson look bad, but she succeeded.
