MAKING OF: WYCK GODFREY COMMENTS ON ‘BREAKING DAWN’

Posted December 1st, 2009 By: Evie 9 Comments »

Twilight Saga producer, Wyck Godfrey, had some interesting comments to make in a recent interview with MakingOf. Wyck discussed how there is every intention to make Breaking Dawn, but right now it is a matter of timing. The studio has kept very busy with the filming and producing of the first three Twilight Saga movies with Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse.

(Thanks Barrett!)

Well it certainly makes me feel better to actually hear a Twilight Saga producer like Wyck say that there is every intention to make Breaking Dawn. I just think they have to make it. You can’t end the movies with Eclipse! It would be an unfinished ending.

What do you think of this interview with Wyck Godfrey? Does the interview make you hopeful for Breaking Dawn?

Iam so excited, i hope Breaking Dawn is one long movie like 3 hours! THAT WOULD BE AWSOME! THIS DOES MAK ME HOPEFUL. I JUST WISH THEY WOULD HURRY UP AND DO IT !
    Awaiting Breaking Dawn

Everyone needs to stop panicing over BD not being made. New Moon has made over $400 million world wide. Do you really think Summit is not going to cash in on making the final movie? It’s the studios biggest block buster, EVER. Of course they’ll proceed with BD. Lets just hope they’ll announce it soon or we’re all going to get ulcers!

(I bet right about now whatever studio turned down the Twilight series is curled up in a fetal possision, bawling their eyes out. LOL!)

Like Kerri said:” Everyone needs to stop panicing over BD not being made”
THEY WILL MAKE BREAKING DAWN. That’s for certain. They just don’t know if they can make it IN two movies (if the actors will agree on doing 2 movies…that’s the MAIN ISSUE) or not. Then they’ll find a director and decide if they’ll film it in vancouver or not. If the honeymoon will actually be in Brazil or not, etc, etc

I never doubted for one minute that they would make BD. There are a lot of things to consider and negotiate before it’s locked, I’m sure. The big hurdle that I see is how are they going to do Renessme? That’s a biggie and then there are the salaries for the stars, which are going to be a lot bigger than what they originally signed on for and rightly so. If it wasn’t for the “Big Three”, Rob, Kristen and Taylor, I’m not so sure it would have been what it has become. Who knows, but the fact is that they can’t replace them at this point! So they will pay up, the kids deserve it!! I hope Chris Weitz agrees to direct BD but I hope they improve the make up and the costumes. I don’t like the yellow eyes, they look painful. LOL. And take the lipstick and mascara off Edward, PLEASE!! As for the length of BD, I’m not sure how they can make two movies out of it because where would they break? The writer and Stephanie will have to be pretty creative if they go that route. Sorry, didn’t mean to make this comment so long. LOL.

I had no doubt that after the big numbers that New Moon made that there would be a sequel. In truth the big story is on salaries and author I would gather. I am sure that they are just nailing down the real logistics. Renesme, actually would be easier thought out. There is CGI and there are child actreses. Thats not the test. The test is how the script treament w3ill come in and what story do they want to show on the screen. remember Adaptations are not exact tellings. Really there are three stories on that screen with breaking dawn.

i here that breaking dawn will be film nov 21 of 2010 and that it will be two move i my so glad that bd will be a movie becoues the book was so good that i had to read it 20 time and iwill read it untill the movie come out so i have a year for that

  • Alice

I really hope that BD will be made. It`s got some of the funniest things in it (honeymoon LOL) Bella is soooo desperate… its gonna be a little weird to see what happens on-screen. LOL. lolol. ok ive got a sick mind :P
I think Renesmee won`t be that hard – i mean with the cgi in new moon (which was amazing) i am pretty sure that they will have no trouble. but theyre gonna have to get quite a few actresses to be renesmee.
Another thing – part 2, jacob.
how r they gonna do that? hahaha

TA site is busy, busy!! Trying again. :)
Yes, the interview makes me hopeful but it was too short. Like what Wyck has to say. There is so much in BD it has to be 2 movies or a really, really long one with an intermission. You know Summit will want to make as much $$$$ as possible. The Stars and Stephanie should be rewarded very nicely also. Let’s pray the entire cast can do the project. : )

Spoiler alert: Beautiful wedding, squibble with jacob, honeymoon, home to sick bed, wolf feud (can get told fairly quickly unlike in the book), birth, Jacob in love (30 second scene)/ BELLA BECOMES VAMPIRE goes hunting learns her gift(will be AWESOME but wont take that long), show off Nessie, Charlie’s cool, alls well til vamp sees baby tells volturi, assemble vampires, Alice gone ( could show that in 5 minutes) Ready for combat (5 minutes) then a 15 minute scene with all of them with lots of extra fighting and a happily ever after. One movie, folks. One HELLA expensive movie, but I think they could do it in anywhere from 2-3 hours. Filming all those words will be expensive but doesn’t need to take a long time. I’m thinking they wont put in a lot of vampire sex in the cabin, Bella going for papers, things like that would ruin the flow of a film I think. Things that were pages, like the little cottage, can be shown in gorgeous visuals that don’t take any extra time. I hope they wont drag it over two movies. just make one awesome one! :)
