MONTEPULCIANO UPDATE: NEW PICTURES, ‘NEW MOON’ PRESS RELEASE
It’s time for another Montepulciano update, and this one includes some great new pictures of the clock tower at midday, a newly installed gutter, another great picture of the reported Volturi thrones, a picture of a statue, presumed to be some sort of saint taken, today in the city hall, and a New Moon press release.

And as promised, courtesy of La Gazetta di Forks, we have an official (translated) press release from the Italian distributor of New Moon, Eagle Pictures:
In a few days to complete the film, the cast will arrive in Italy to turn Montepulciano into two chapters in the book New Moon, second episode of the Twilight saga, which is set in Volterra.Tomorrow [today, ndr.] Pattinson is flying from Cannes to Rome, then will drive to Montepulciano. Filming in Italy will begin May 26th and end on May 29th. Below is the cast list:

Chris Weitz – DirectorOn May 30th, there will be a gathering in Montepulciano of all the Italian Twilighters, of which more than 5,000 girls are expected. Many are from abroad, some coming as far as Japan. There is no longer a vacant hotel within a 20km.

I love the new pictures and I think the clock tower looks amazing. I’ll admit though, that statue scares the life out of me. On a happier note, it’s very exciting to see the press release for the Italian portion of New Moon, because now we know who to expect on site. I wish I were in Montepulciano right now – I’d love to attend the Twilight gathering!
