MORE CASTING INFORMATION FOR ‘THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE’

A few days ago we gave you the news that Eclipse casting was reportedly underway, and today we have some more information for you regarding the third film in the Twilight saga.

First up, Lainey Gossip has received some exclusive information regarding what other roles the moviemakers are searching for:

Still Leah and Seth Clearwater. And my sources tell me that they’re favouring Canadian suggestions for the role of Riley. Originally the agents were looking for “name talent”. They’ve now modified their criteria. This suggests that Channing Tatum might be too established to take on this kind of supporting position. Perhaps they think GI Joe will blow up the box office.

Anyway, postings for Maria, Bree, and Royce King are also now active.

And on another Eclipse related note, could Harry Potter be crossing paths with the Twilight saga again? Ever since the casting call went out for the role of Riley, Tom Felton (who plays Draco Malfoy) had his name thrown out by fans and even a few in the movie industry. Tom even responded to the rumors by talking to FeltBeats, and you can read his response below:

“I’ll be ready when they want me!” Tom responded late last night when Feltbeats.com asked for his response to these rumors. “Really, I’m only joking. I’m not really sure at this point; but you will be the first to know if I find out anything!”

At one point in the day, Tom actually posted a message on Twitter to address the issue, saying, “I keep getting asked if I’m being cast as Riley in Twilight! I’ll let you all know if so!!!”

I think they’ve done an amazing job with casting for the films so far, so I have complete faith that they will continue to do a great job. I will throw this out there though – I love Tom Felton for Riley. Surely, if they can bring Jamie so far to play Caius, they can do the same for Tom? Okay, in any case, I’m really excited to find out in the coming months who will fill these roles.

    OOHH, I like the idea of Tom Felton as Riley, I think he would be good.
    The others, Bree,Maria & Royce are pretty small parts so it doesn’t matter to me who they cast. They should give an unknown a chance for the exposure they would get by being in such a sucessful franchise.

    I’m definitely more anxious to find out who’s playing Seth. He better be just as adorable as he is in the books!! :)
    They need to find a girl with SERIOUS attitude for Leah!

    You know what…I love Tom Felton as Malfoy. He’s a fantastic baddie. So maybe he’d be good for Riley.

    Tom Felton would actually be perfect for Riley, IMO. Way better than Channing Tatum (who was the rumor a while back).

    Tom Felton is who I always pictured in my head when reading the parts with Riley in it!! But if it’s not him, I’m sure that they will find someone who will play the part really well!!

    I absolutely totally and utterly hate Draco Malfoy in Harry Potter, that’s why I think Tom Felton plays his part very very well. So I can see Tom playing a bad ass Newborn Vampire, if they keep that blonde hair he has in Harry Potter , maybe just a little bit messier add to that red eyes now that’s totally creepy…..
    I think Channing Tatum might be a little too old to play Riley??? Maybe he Channing could be a Vampire in one of the Covens in Breaking Dawn like, Stefan, Vladimir, Peter or Alistair ??

    I think Tom would be a really good Riley, I always sort of pictured Riley as a “Draco Malfoy” It would be really cool if he did, but obviously his main priority would be Harry Potter right now so maybe not. Yeah Channing Tatum is a really good actor, but wouldn’t he be too old play Riley? Maybe it won’t even be an established actor, maybe they’ll want “new meat”. It’s interessting, I look forward to see who they cast.

    I always pictured Royce as Billy Zane’s character in Titanic for some odd reason.

    Looking back in the book he has very blonde hair and piercing blue eyes. How old was he? In his twenties or thirties? That makes a huge differnce in casting.

    Seriously, if _Dakota Fanning_ is not too big to take a small, supporting part, Channing Tatum is definitely not, GI Joe or no GI Joe.

    I have never pictured Riley like Malfoy, but I think Tom is great and would do a great job. When they mentioned Channing Tatum, I thought that was a good pick. Riley is supposed to be the main soldier and trainer for Victoria, so I thought he should be a bigger guy, not so skinny. I would hate Ryan Reynolds for Royce. I think he could do a good job, but Royce is so revolting, and I like Ryan Reynolds too much to see him like that.

    As long as the actor/actress is commited 2 the movie, it doesnt matter who it is :D (NO DISNEY STARS THOUGH!!)

    I have a hard time seeing Tom Felton as Riley….I guess because I see him only as Malfoy. I would LOVE to know how this whole thing got started with Channing Tatum for Riley….I mean, c’mon, are you serious?? Riley is a young, lanky kid….a far stretch from Channing. If he were to have any part in the Twilight Saga….I could easily see Channing playing Garrett in Breaking Dawn.

    I’m really excited who they get to fill ALL these roles, especially Seth & Leah

    OH! & I LOVE Billy Zane for Royce, great suggestion Candice. But yeah…he’s way too old for the part, I think he is about 43….too bad. They’ll find someone good I’m sure.

    AHH! Tom would be GREAT! My very first thought for Riley was that guy that plays the sort of gay guy in HSM..I hate that movie..but I mean..him and Tom look kinda alike and Tom would be wayy more edgy for the part, it’s great! I really wish we had the address to audition for Bree, and the rest. Does anyone know it?
    I posted the address for casting for Leah and Seth on the last one fyi.

    I have the perfect Seth. My son is adorable and fits the personality of Seth exactly, and not just because he is my son. He is 5’11″, roughly 180 lbs., dark hair, dark eyes, great cheekbones, and very athletic. He has an innocent, playful quality that screams Seth. He would be best buds and idolize Jacob, and hero-worship Edward after that battle because he loves to be given responsibility and live up to it. He even has a beautiful wolf-like dog (she’s actually a Great Pyrenees) with whom he plays and wrestles around the yard. He plays football and soccer, so loves to run. Have I convinced you yet? I’d love to get a petition for him! I have been trying to get his stuff over to Summit, but boy is it difficult. Anyone have any suggestions?

    i think it would be funny if tom got the part in harry potter rob was only in one movie but u got to see him in and out of the whole movie tom will be in it maybe 10 mins and i dont think i could stand seeing tom killed by rob and who ever plays seth i know its funny but i am a harry freak to

    I love Tom as Draco, I’ve always thought he portrayed the character well. But in my mind, I pictured Riley as more manly, early 20′s, muscular build (not like Emmett muscular, but still having some muscles), tall. Tom is just not right for me, for Riley.

    I think Tom would be better in the role of Alec. He’d match perfectly with Dakota. I don’t know if I’d like to see Tom get ripped into pieces by Robert if he plays Riley.

    Hey Angela, I think they are only casting Native Americans for the roles of Seth and Leah. If you are of Native American descent they will consider your son. The Casting Directors name is Renee Haynes. So you should try and get in contact with her for your son to be considered. This is what she had to say about New Moon casting -

    Haynes’ office set up an extensive nationwide search to find the actors. They searched their database of up-and-coming Native American actors. There was a call-out for video auditions, which brought in 600 tapes (“I watched them all,” she says). There was also open auditions, including one in Vancouver which brought out thousands of hopefuls. Houseman was the lucky attendee who not only auditioned on that day, but also earned a part.

    It was crucial to Haynes — who specializes in Native American casting − that each of the characters chosen was of Native American descent. “It was important to the filmmakers,” says Haynes. ‘That is why they hired me. And that was my job.”

    Check out my choice for Leah Clearwater – her name is Sara Tomko. She is Native American, and a very talented actress.

    Yeah Tom would be good for Riley.But it would depend on whether he is able to do an American accent.
    I agree with Molly!I would give anything to play Bree!Though I wouldn’t be considered because I’m British,13,light brown long hair…Deffinitely not Bree-material lol…
    I’m also intrested in Kate…I wan’t the chance to knock down Kellan Lutz in breaking dawn!My mates wouldn’t believe me at all!Lol!
    Please say they’ll have open casting for characters that British people would be able to try out for (young female)!Pretty please Summit lol!xx

    i like tom felton better than channing tatum for riley. channing just seems to bulky; i pictured riley as more of a pretty boy while reading it. and i have seen rumors about sarah tomko but i have seen lots of rumors about nicole lee smith too and personally i prefer her. she looks like tinsel korey, she’s from the NW, she looks the right age, and she has the combo of heartbroken/tough exterior that i think leah needs.
