MOVIEFONE: ROBERT PATTINSON CLEARS UP THE RUMORS

A few very…interesting rumors have been going around lately about ‘Twilight’ star Robert Pattinson. Among those, there have been rumors that he rarely showers and is beginning to irritate the cast and crew with his smell, and another rumor about Rob getting injured on set after a gust of wind caused a sign to hit him in the head. Well, MovieFone has gotten to the bottom of these rumors, and others, by talking to Mr. Pattinson himself, read below for more:

 
1. I heard that you follow all the online gossip about yourself?

I read that and thought it was such bull****. I was like, “God, I sound like such a loser!”

2. So it’s not true?

Well, I do sometimes. I used to a lot more before and then … I only look at the negative stuff. I just want to know whoever’s saying negative stuff, and I just want to remember their names. I write it all down in my black book. [Laughs]

3. Is it true that you took a fan out for dinner?

That is true, yeah.

4. Is it true that, I don’t know if you saw this, but a source on the set of ‘New Moon’ said that you don’t smell good, that you don’t shower?

I haven’t even been on the set yet!

5. You know the same thing went around about Zac Efron a while ago; that he doesn’t shower.

Really? He looks like he smells really good [laughs]. I also do shower.

6. I also read that you got hit on the head with a sign while you were filming?

You know, that is the most … I actually got told about that this morning. It’s like, “What?” It’s the most boring story.

7. I just watched a Ryan Reynolds video interview and he called you “dreamy” and said he’d love to work with you.

[Embarrassed laugh] Really?

8. Is there anyone you’d love to work with?

Ryan Reynolds! [Laugh] … I’ve always wanted to work with Benicio Del Toro, I think he’s amazing. And there are tons and tons of people …

Well, it’s nice to hear things straight from Rob himself. It is getting pretty ridiculous to hear about all these rumors, especially the one about Rob getting injured. I think whoever made up that absurd rumor should be seriously ashamed for worrying so many people.

    All I have to say is..HE TOOK A FAN OUT TO DINNER?! So the fact that I’m obsessed with Twilight might NOT deter him from falling in love with me? This is great news. Now I just need a plan to meet him… *begins plotting*

    Wow, he seems so down to earth!! It is so sad that there are people out there who try to make others look like crap!! I believe there probally just jealous of all the attention Rob is getting!! Well on my part I absolutely love Twilight…but come on girls..it is a MOVIE..he is not Edward in real life…he has a real life, one that aint a vampire!! Ya’ll seriously need to grow up and say hey you know this man has talent, good looks, georgeous eyes, wild hair, sexiest accent around, and a shy streak to him!! WOW not many men in america are like this and here we are (NOT ME) putting him down, trying to make him look bad!! Rob seems like a really sweet guy and I hope things only get better for him!!

    I for one haven’t read of anyone on this site putting Rob down. Now some of the slimier, less successful media who need a punch of coverage any way they can get it, yes I think they have helped with these type stories. But not here.

    I certainly think I would prefer the real Rob over Edward. I like warmth. Rob has it, and I don’t mean body temperature. I mean soul, personality, character.

    As for taking the fan to dinner, I read he did that (I think in Spain). This fan learned what hotel he was staying at, and stood outside where he could see her for an insane length of time, and I’m not talking a few hours either. He said he took her to dinner because he was bored. I doubt she cared about the reason. So, anything more than that, who knows.

    I’m glad the other ridiculous stories were addressed. I wish when these media people have access, they would ask something of significance. Maybe some day.

    I wonder who this person is that he took out to dinner. Imagine if they have an account here in TA :P . But Im glad that this whole stinky thing was cleared up. I never believed it but even if it happened to be true that wouldn’t have made me see him any different. He’s still such a great person and I love how he takes every question, hes a cutie and other words :X haha

      I read up on that. it was a stalker fan that was outside his apartment for weeks on end day and night he finally went out with her because he was feeling alone I guess.. That is one lucky girl… I just want to hug him and say your not alone. I feel bad for him…

    I feel so bad for Rob right now. To have to come out and defend himself about something so stupid….just makes me so mad. If someone came up to me and asked me if I took showers I would feel so humiliated. I think he handled the interview very well and shows he has a great sense of humor but remember he stated before he hides a lot so I wonder how he is really handling it when he is alone. I think he is great actor and I can’t wait for little ashes but sometimes when read some of the headlines I tend to worry about him. I really dont understand some of backlash that Rob recieves (especially from MTV and Ryan Seacreast). First they like him and then they dont. I don’t get it all.

    It was when he was filming in Spain and a fan was following him around. He was having a bad day and decided to ask her out for dinner. They went to dinner, he talked her ear off and according to him, bore her to death and then never saw her again.

    I just hope that he really does shower and use some sort of soap. Rinsing just doesn’t do it. This little bit of info has plagued my dreams lately (not seriously but enough for it to reenter my brain). I still love Rob but I’ve been considering… if it were some normal hunky guy like Rob, would him being smelly turn me off? Yes, of course it would! Maybe that’s what he’s trying to do… turn the fans off/away from him. So sad.

    Btw, I love Rob’s dorky laugh during the audio commentary… and I’d love it on any other normal hunky guy as well! HA!

    interesting about the bad hygiene rumor, the SAME EXACT thing was said about Brad Pitt right after his meteoric rise to fame, they said he didn’t shower or wash his hair???…now they are saying the same thing about R.Pattinson. And they’ve said it about Zac Efron???…hummmm…seems to be a pattern here.
    somehow I think if there really WAS a problem Kristen Stewart would have tipped off her leading man way back when, don’t you guys think?

    [grumble] I was not finished! ;) We are so curious about what goes on in our favorite actors’ minds. When we find someone that “turns-a-light-switch-on” in our heads and we shift our attentions to … Pattz. :)
    We love the way he talks and dresses and expresses his emotions and his p.o.v. about his future. We are like “Wow! This person really cares about his fans. He enjoys acting and singing and being an artist. ( in the broader sense of who Robert (T) Pattinson is to us and how he shares it with us. It makes all the difference!

    If we talk smack! about Pattz, would he use that emotional response ( when he reads about the falsehoods) and put that into his character?

    Anyone seen “The Waterboy” with Adam Sandler? He uses his anger and frustration to better himself in football and Coach (Henry Wrinkler) uses funny, cute imaginary (something he cannot get mad at) and betters himself in coaching.

    Rob, looking at negative inputs could bring you down emotionally and mentally. Looking at the POSITIVE gossip, good smack!…well, I hope you smile and even laugh. Unless you are soaking up the negativity to have it channel through Edward’s emotions/soul while he is away from Bella. Hmm?

    Good interview! I’m not surprised about the hygiene and accident rumors not being true. What caught my attention though was that when he goes online to see what’s being said about him, he only looks for the negative…someone needs to go up to him, shake the daylights out of him (me! me!) and tell him to read the good stuff too. Although I did think his bit about putting all the names in his little black book was a riot! lol…

    Poor Robert!!! All I know is, I never ever believed that crap! I wrote on-line last night, about a source, that interviewed him in his trailer, and she said he smelt so good, it almost made her swoon.

    I’m glad Robert got the chance to speak out about this ridiculous Rubbish being said about him. Good for him, Rob is so genuine and not to mention gorgeous. It’s so pathetic that the gossip rags will do anything for attention.

    The fan was stalking him, standing outside his house just watching him, so he took her for lunch then she quickly bailed when he strated talking about himself.
    Poor Rob.

    Reading or watching an interview with Rob always makes me smile, because he seems so down-to-earth. Especially when he said he wanted to work with Ryan Reynolds! He dosen’t seem to take what the tabloid/rumors say about him seriously.
    Of course I wasn’t surprised. I mean come on. People always have to report something negative/stupid/untrue about someone when they’re doing so well and have such a great fan base. I hope the ‘source’ feels so ashamed for starting such stupid nonsense. It really pisses me off!

    I think Rob is one of the greatest young men to enter the entertainment world. He is so talented, yet he doesn’t seem to let it taint his life. He shows he has his “head screwed on right.” I certainly hope he continues to keep focused and not let the fan mania change him. Rob, you are great and we love you as you are. Don’t change!

    Not for one moment did I believe any of these vicious rumors! When someone all of a sudden becomes famous they will try to find anything, even if its not true to make you look bad. Rob is an extremely talented actor and musician. He has a gorgeous smile and his laugh is infectious. He makes me smile every time I see him ;o) Rob if you happen to read this try not to pay any attention to the idiots out there that try and put you down. There are fans like myself that truly adore you and admire your talents and what a down to earth person you are. Keep you head up and keep doing what you love! Love ya, Lisa
