MTV: MORE EXCLUSIVE ‘TWILIGHT’ DVD BONUS FOOTAGE!

MTV has another exclusive scene from the ‘Twilight’ DVD special features, this one from the hospital scene:

SANTA MONICA, California — If you’re like most Twilighters, you probably already know your plans for “DVD day,” with midnight release parties occurring all over the country on the night of March 20/21. If you’re among the lucky few, you might even be wearing butt-less onesies with Kellan Lutz and Edi Gathegi.

For those who want to get an early jump on the revelry, MTV has another exclusive bonus featurette for you — a full week before you’ll be able to see it on the “Twilight” DVD.

As a follow-up to the unveiling of the Comic-Con memories clip, we present a behind-the-scenes featurette on the making of the hospital scene at the end of the film.

To help promote the DVD, we’ve spoken to many of the franchise’s stars over the past few days — and they’re every bit as excited as the Twilighters to dig into two discs celebrating Stephenie Meyer-mania.

“We did an audio commentary and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it,” Kristen Stewart beamed, talking about a giggle-heavy track featuring herself, director Catherine Hardwicke and Robert Pattinson. “There are outtakes. There wasn’t a day that went by that we didn’t have camera crews on set. They have hours of footage to put together for the eager audience.”

“There are deleted scenes too, and I’m excited to see which ones they decided to use,” Gathegi explained. “There was a couple that I was in, so maybe there’s one of those in there. That’s what I’m going to go to first and foremost: looking for my deleted scenes.”

“I’m really looking forward to watching the audition process,” Lutz explained of a DVD feature that will show many of the actors’ first attempts at portraying the “Twilight” characters. “My audition process was really quite crazy in itself, [because] there was somebody already cast to play Emmett and he fell through … I’m really quite anxious to see the auditions of the other characters — talking to Ashley [Greene], they auditioned her, like, five times to get the role of Alice. She first auditioned for Bella, and then they called her back a couple of weeks later for Alice — it’s just really interesting to see that process, because all of them are so different.”

In addition to all that, the DVD will feature music videos from Muse, Paramore and Linkin Park, a seven-part (!) documentary about the creation of “Twilight” and much more. It’s a great opportunity for the fans to revisit the phenomenon — and some of the actors to get a refresher course before they head into shooting “New Moon.”

“Last year is very fuzzy for me. That whole ‘Twilight’ process was very overwhelming at times,” Nikki Reed giggled. “I don’t really remember that much of what we shot; I just know that I was in Portland for five months, even though I’m in only [a few] scenes in the movie. So, I’m sure that there is a lot on the DVD that wasn’t in the final cut — and I’m just as anxious as everyone else to see it.”.”

This is sort of off topic but if you go to the Canadian Futureshopp site, there’s a Twilight contest…

GROAN!! How are we going to last until the 21st??? How cute that the actors want to see their own deleted scenes. Almost like they are fans too.

I was shocked that Kellen said someone else had first been cast as Emmett. I read, I think on Stephenie’s site that Kellen was the only actor that she insisted be cast. He was so hard, like a vampire, gulp!

I am extremely curious to see if they show any of the other auditions for Edward. As Kristen has been very open about saying the chemistry with Rob was there at once. Didn’t they have it down to about four actors when Rob auditioned? I have not heard who else was considered. I always wondered who he beat out.

Uhm I never say this but OME!!! He kissed her forehead and touched her way more in this shot than in the shot that made the movie. My heart is filled with warm n fuzzies :)

I really loved that scene. I think they should have kept it because it’s only a few seconds longer and it really showed some more of how sweet (?) Edward and Bella’s relationship is.

  • darlenecullen

Yes,Yes, this one they should have kept in. The others were a god choice to delete from the movie. And creamy, you’re so right!!!! How are we going to last till Friday. Everyone, should tell where they live and what party they’re picking up the dvd from. I live in Danbury Ct.and I’m getting it from Hot Topic. Now we can listen to Edward’s velvet voice all we want. I’m even getting a new 32′ screen tv just so I can see his face better. OMG, we’re so crazy!! And I’m not even anywhere close to a teenager.

I love this scene! Why did they cut this one? It’s great to see Edward and Bella’s relationship more closely. Does anyone else thing it’s totally strange that throughout the entire movie – Edward and Bella never say “I love you” to one another?? It’s all in the book! I hope it’s in the deleted scenes.

  • Karen

Noooo! It just says “Copyright restricts us from playing this video outside the U.S.”
That’s not fair, I want to see it too! :(

  • Tonia

I love DVD’s that have the voice-over commentaries.

  • Midori

    OMG! Edward is so loving!

  • Kerri

OME! I totally noticed that too! Robs voice is so velvety smooth. I rewined it several times to just hear it. I’m a sad, sad girl!

  • May

Stop releaseing footage. I want to wait until the DVD comes out. My friends won’t like it too much if I ruin our plans and have seen all the deleted/extended ect. scenes they won’t be too happy. I want March 21 to be special!!!!!

  • May

Yet, they’re so hard to exist.

Sorry that the last one was complaining.
