MUSE WILL APPEAR ON THE ECLIPSE SOUNDTRACK?

That’s right you’re reading those words correctly, we have an exciting TA Exclusive for you! Although we heard the heartbreaking news earlier this month that Muse was not going to make an appearance on the Eclipse soundtrack, it turns out that may have all changed.

TA has a reporter who has been covering events down at the SXSW (South By Southwest) Festival in Austin, Texas all week. Well today that reporter happened to find themselves in conversation with informed sources from Chop Shop/Atlantic Records. The source has confirmed that Muse will indeed be on the Eclipse soundtrack.

I guess it makes sense that this would be the place that the label and the band could come together. Both Muse and Chop Shop were at SXSW this weekend, so maybe they were able to come to some kind of terms to work together again on Eclipse. So unless more changes between now and when the soundtrack comes out, we can celebrate. All I know is I want to sing from the rooftops now! Having just seen them in concert (go if you can!), I don’t think I’ll ever get enough Muse. Now all we need is official confirmation from Muse and Summit on this one!

    Was gutted to hear that Muse weren’t on the soundtrack. Glad to hear that such an injustice has been corrected and Muse will be back! Best and Most Brilliant movie/music/literary collaboration ever!

    It wouldn’t be the same without them on the soundtrack. Stephanie loves them and I think it would be insulting to her. Maybe that’s a little dramatic, but it’s how I feel!

    im really upset how people only heard of muse because of twilight, theyve been known for their best live act awards for about 7+ years, although theyve been a band for 16 yrs. To true muse fans who have stuck by them for years, we’re really kinda pissed off how everyone just loves supermassive black hole and I belong to you, they have so many songs ones that are even better than those two.

    I’ve known muse way before The Twilight Saga and though I am a great fan of The Twilight Saga , I rather they don’t get too close to the commercial production world.New muse tracks very intriguing and I am very exited…yet I can’t get my hopes to high… It is for they’re own good…

    BRILLIANT NEWS! I couldnt stand the thought of Muse not being on Eclipse. YAYAYA! So great, they truly are one of the best bands ever. Love them! Now we just need Paramore again.

    Personally I would love some new material from Muse, but I would rather it didn’t come from a commerical source like a soundtrack. They already have so many great songs to choose from (New Born, Starlight, Resistance, etc.) that would be great for this movie and the battle with the newborns. I’m just glad that they’re on here though, they’re the greatest band! Just saw them in concert last Monday in Nashville and still can’t get enough!

    dom, as a muse fan myself, I completely agree with you!! To be completely and brutally honest, I hope with all my might that muse will NOT appear on the eclipse soundtrack, or on any future twilight soundtracks. Honestly, it’ll just end up angering true muse fans.

    Absolutely, a huge MUSE fan here. My love for Muse originated way before Meyer ever referred to them as her own personal inspiration for writing the books. They are fantastic live and Matt’s musical skills break my heart. I just see it as an added bonus that they’re associated with a successful franchise.

    I was so sad to find the band wasnt on the soundtrack. They were just here in Boston last month and I felt a tremendous pride to think that because of the Twilighters loyalty and passion, this amazing band has a whole new audiance. I wonder if Summit realized our shock and sadness about the possiblity.

    @Dom- I too have loved Muse since before Twilight, but lets face reality, not every has. I saw them years ago on that Jools Holland show on Ovation. For some reason Americans rarely here about great bands from across the pond until it’s been incerted on a soundtrack or a commercial. I go on the UK i-tunes just to see whats going on there, and most of the time Im pleasantly surprised. I love Muse and am happy for their success, no matter what form it takes.

    i was so mad when i found out muse wasnt going to be on the soundtrack because summit tried controlling matts creative spark. i started screaming bout it actually. a twilight saga movie without muse in it is like, pb n j without the pb! its not right! muse inspired stephanie (along with other great bands ) to write the series and stephanie loves them, there wouldnt be a real twilight movie to me wihtout muse in it. btw, ive loved muse before twilight, im not one of those people who go MUSE!!!

    i am glad to hear that they might be on it. they should be b/c they were stephenie (sp??) meyers “muse”. but i too have been a fan even before they were on the twilight soundtrack. they are a fantastic band! my fave song is undisclosed desires!

    and NO NO NO NO we can’t have muse on the soundtrack. i have nothing against twilight or twilighters my only problem is that muse being related to The saga is quickly turning them nto a mainstream band, sth that all true musers fear.

    I agree with some of the commenters on this page. It saddens me that MUSE is now being referred to the “OH! That’s the band that had a song on Twilight!” And those fangirls go rambling about how cool MUSE is and how Supermassive Black Hole is their new favourite song. MUSE deserves more than just mere recognition of being a band that had a song on Twilight. They have been the best live band for years and now their songs are being featured on twilight, new moon and eclipse?! I don’t have anything against the successful franchise, really. But I just think that MUSE deserves way more credit than just recognition on twilight and new moon.

    I’m glad to hear Muse will be on the Eclipse soundtrack. I did not like the New Moon soundtrack as much as I liked the Twilight soundtrack, so I hope Eclipse has more likable songs. I thought Paramour was good on the 1st one. And Supermassive Black Hole is my favorite song ever!

    if there is a song on the soundtrack it’ll be the new one they recorded for it probably, not one of the older one :( but I love Muse and am extremely jealous of you for seeing them live when i havent had the chance to!! im a way bigger fan of muse than twilight, but no means am a a twilight hater :) just wanna see muse happy

    I’m really pleased about this. I came across Muse through Twilight but to be honest I don’t think it matters how you find out about them and I’m sure the band aren’t too bothered either. The more people that do find out about them, then the more albums they sell – which of course is a good thing. I saw them on Jonathon Ross shortly after reading the Twilight series and purchased The Resistance, Absolution, Origin of Symmetry and Black Holes and Revelations that same week. Surely that’s a positive!

    You do need to see Muse live if you have the chance. Absolutely incredible! I’m a fan from before too ;) Everyone should check out Origin of Symmetry…. I’m simply excited for more Muse. For me more Muse is ALWAYS a good thing!

    I agree with Donna – Newborn would be brilliant on Eclipse, it just fits. My favourite tracks are however, Time Is Running Out, Plug In Baby, Thoughts of a Dying Athiest, Hysteria… I could go on and on!! I’m still trying to get tickets to see them at T in the Park – I’m crossing my fingers

    Hey guys we realize that Muse has been around a long time and haven’t gotten the recognition they deserve. Just be glad that they have finally hit the big time. I first heard them on the Twilight Soundtrack and now own everything they have recorded that I can get. So don’t hate those of us who don’t always keep up, be happy they are now selling their music and everyone loves them, I’m sure they are as I am.

    It just wouldn’t be right without them. They had a huge influence on SM’s writing, they’ve been on both soundtracks and they’re Muse… they are awesome! I too saw them in concert a few weeks ago and amazing would be an understatement. I’m glad to see that Muse is going to be on after all.

    just another note… I am thankful Muse was on the playlists and on the soundtracks… I’d heard of Muse and heard a few tracks pre-Twilight, but unfortunately had not explored their music deeper. After the Twilight saga playlists on SM’s website, I ended up slowly purchasing their whole catalog, buying The Resistance the day it came out. I’m glad that Twilight exposed me them.
    The success they have is well deserved and I’m glad that they were able to expand their fan base considering they are such talented individuals. And i’m tired of pretentious people who think that if a band finds commercial success, they somehow lose out on their credibility. Muse’s talent, live performances and previous releases more than provide the foundation for their credibility.
    I truly hope that the appear on Eclipse and on any future soundtracks… every bit of Muse I can get is good.

    I agree… Thw Twilight Saga woud not be the same without Muse! heck it might not have even existed(Stephanie Meyer’s muse was Muse)!! if they were not on the Eclipse soundtrack i would be very dissapointed.

    I’m an old fogey, but I loved the Twilight soundtrack ( I did grow up with rock and roll), but New Moon, well, not so fun. I hate Paramore now because of what the girl said about not wanting to become the Twilight Band, as if…she’s such a…well, you know.
