MUSIC MONDAYS: SHOULD THIS SONG BE ON THE ‘ECLIPSE’ SOUNDTRACK?

Posted February 8th, 2010 By: Evie 5 Comments »

Welcome to the sixth edition of “Music Mondays”! Every week we will bring you a fan suggestion for the Eclipse soundtrack. Let us know what you think of the song, and send us your ideas!

This week we have Love Is The End by Keane

Dana sends us this week’s song for when Bella goes to tell Jacob that she has chosen Edward to spend the rest of her life (and beyond) with. I agree this song has a good moody feel for that scene, not to mention several of the lyrics are perfect. The song also has a certain “montage” feel to it. I can see it playing over scenes of Bella and Jacob talking in depth.

Sample of lyrics include:

“Love is the end
So lets not pretend
Cos love is the end

So I tread the only road
The only road I know
Nowhere to go, but home
Nowhere to go
Maybe our time is up
But still you can’t abandon
All the principles of love
Don’t say those words”

(Thanks Dana!)

Keane is one of my favorite bands ever. And I love this song. It would be fitting for Eclipse, but I think that their song “Hamburg Song”, “Your Eyes Open”, or “Black Burning Heart” would fit just as well if not better.

It sounds great and would suite Elicpse but not sure.

Oh yeah, this song would totally fit that scene where Bella’s telling Jacob that she’s choosing Edward…there’s that sense of deep tenderness that’s still there between the two of them, even though both their heart’s are breaking…it’s perfect. A great choice! :)

I listened to the song and I don`t think it can fit the atmosphere of the movie. My answer is NO.

AHHHHHHHHHH! MY EARS ARE BLEEDING!!!! STOP THE MUSIC!!! PLEASE sToP tHe mUs-
oh, ok. This song is wrong for the movie. It doesn’t properly catch the emotions circling in this scene at all.
