NEW MOON MONDAY: SHOULD THIS SONG BE ON THE NEW MOON SOUNDTRACK?

that song is absolutely perfect for Jacob Black. umm honestly i can see it in a few different scences from the last 3 books. in “New Moon” i think it would be best when he’s begging her to stay at her doorstep instead of going to italy. for “Eclipse” it could fit in when jacob over hears her talk with edward in the tent. in “Breaking Dawn” i could see it playing in the background at the wedding when Jacob freaks out about the honeymoon. just my opinion though and thanks for posting it up for me to have a listen.

“Bleed you dry”? More like Edward! Its an AWESOMELY related song, that I think can DEFINATELY be on the soundtrack.

I agree with DeAnna, but i think it would be best as Jacob is running away after getting the invitation to the wedding.

Perfect song for two scenes. The first is in “New Moon”, with Bella laying in the forest before Sam finds here. The second scene would be for Jacob in the very last line in the “Eclipse” book, “I pushed my legs faster, letting Jacob Black disappear behind me.” The song just has that sad feeling and I can picture it for Jacob, wow, I just got goose bumps!!

i think it should be where Edwards about to step out into the sun, or when he’s considering how to do it?

those are some rockin ideas y’all got there. i think thats what i love about music. just like literature and poetry it can be given many meanings for anyone. like marie said with the “bleed you dry line” i agree that it can be taken in the very literal sense given he’s a vampire, but when i read the lyrics that were posted above the song itself i instantly thought that “bleed you dry” could mean emotionally. the fact that before he imprinted, Jacob did anything and everything he could to prove to bella that he would be a perfect match for her, but in the end he wasn’t victorious. as if he went to that same emotional black hole that bella was in after edward left. which again fits when sam finds her in the woods, or when edward decides to provoke the volturi. you guys came out with some super awesome ideas and i think ultimately in ways we’re all right. lol they should hire us to pick the music for the movies. i think we’d totally kick butt. oh and miss kawaii i didn’t know that about the song hun. thanks for that little tidbit. i’m hoping, if i’m lucky, to go to the music festival they’re having in Austin,Tx cuz Kings Of Leon will be there. those guys are frickin amazing!! i love em too.

i think it would mix well into the scene when alice and bella are racing to italy to save edward. i mean like when they’re in the car speeding toward volterra.
its a really good song and deserves to be in the movie.

Yah I can totally see that song on the Soundtrack!! I like a couple songs of Kings of Leon.. I don’t think that I have heard of that one!! Another Song or songs I think would be great are;

Cry- Kelly Clarkson… OF course these fit in the first part after Edward Leaves *SIGH*

I had to listen to this song a few times, I really like it, I think it’s more an Edward song,maybe when he is in Volterra.

I think it would be perfect for Jacob when takes off on his own in wolf form. He is so sad because Bella is going to marry Edward. It would be perfect for Edward too when he leaves, but I think it is better for Jacob.

I reckon any “emo” moments of Jacob in New Moon. As much as Kings of Leon reminds me of Rob Pattinson’s musical quality (didn’t he want to jam with them if he were to choose a band to play a gig with?) “Closer” very much applies with Jacob’s emotional turmoil.

I agree, whenhe is about to step out in the sun. Or some scene when Bella is depressed. You are totally right though, it belongs somewhere. It does have that “dead without you” feel to it!

wow freaky it can sort of relate to all of the charcters umm when i first saw kol i was like errr maybe not but then when i saw the song name i was like ohhh yeaaa..umm i think it would be an edward soong me thinks like if they made an scen not from the book…umm have you all seen the chapter that steph wrote when rose calls edward…mm i donno hah but i think it could work..umm also i just sent in a song that i like shadow of the day by linkin park heheh the producers clearly alreayd like that band hehe..umm okies bye.

I think this would be great to start from the moment bella decides to go cliff jumping. obviously it depends on how theyve filmed it now. but if she drove through forks to get to la push, forks is the spooky town. and then when she jumps from the cliff and hears / sees edward over the top of the music. I think it would also be great for an underwater sequence, the music shows signs of stuggle and its coming closer, death or edwards hallucination? Perfect

I guess you COULD use this song for Jacob, but the lyrics definitely fit Edward.

Since Weitz looks like he might be adding a few things to make the story… “juicier” on screen (yay!), I think this song would be good from a Midnight Sun aspect. If they have scenes of Edward somewhere off in his misery… Or maybe, if they show his end of trying to make the decision to leave…

If nothing from Edward’s pov, then it would be great for the trailers, or have a cameo (like Decode :-s).

I think it would be good in a couple parts, either while she’s running for edward or when they are following Jane in the underground

this song is just perfect-when bella saves edward befor he can step in the sunlight in italy…perfect! and we see it al in slowmotion when she ran to him try to save him…imagine that!

Oh God, this is so cool. I never thought Kings of Leon would be one of the choices on New Moon Monday, but it’s so great because they’re one of my favorite bands and I have all of their albums And I could TOTALLY see this in New Moon! Eeeeeppp! So stoked.

I think the line ‘with the moon i run’ would be perfect for jacob, so that makes this song good for when he is explaining about him being a werewolf, but also could be for while edward is telling bella he is leaving because of the line ‘she took my heart’ although again that could be for Jacob. so there are a few places in new moon where this song would fit but also eclipse and breaking dawn i can see a few sopts for it!

I think the song has both Edward and Jacob elements. I’ve been a fan of KOL even before they became mainstream, so I’d be happy to hear any KOL song on the sountrack! Love the song!

I personally could care less if this song was on the soundtrack. It’s a good sound and it’s an okay song for Jacob but it’s just not one of those amazing songs when you hear it you want to keep listening to it. Unlike the Twilight Soundtrack! I’m not too fond of the lead singer’s voice either. It’s a little harsh. I’ve heard better songs for New Moon then this one.

I totally think that this song would be perfect for Edward… just after he has heard that Bella jumped off the cliff… He doesn’t get to have any dialogue that shows what he is going through, but this song would certainly be like narration…. and it has a very haunted quality that will really show his very tortured thoughts in such a situation… they could go back and forth with this song, with little snips of Alice/Bella on their way to build drama… like a “hope she makes it in time” kind of thing….

I was listening to “Closer” just yesterday and said to my other half that it makes me think of Twilight. I think it would fit in when Bella is heading toward Volterra- With footage of Edward preparing to step into the sun.

honestly (just stating my opinion) i donlt like the vibe this gives off. it duznt seem right for the movie. i think we need something with piano and a soft voice that gets stronger when it needs to. something like My Immortal by Evanescence.

Would be an awesome tune… i know they want to have as much of RPattz in the film as possible… I scene of him ‘while away’ hunting for Victoria with flashes to Bella….or the scene right before Bella gets to Volterra…as he is meeting with the Volturi…Flashes of Bella and Alice coming to rescue Edward from a lethal decision

I love this song for New Moon. I’m not familiar with Kings of Leon, but plan on checking out their music. I only see this song for Edward. I don’t see how the lyrics could really be for Jacob given the way he feels about Bella. To me this would be a song they would play if they shoot a scene where Edward is suffering in Italy over his need for Bella and also his guilt over how he’s hurt her. Music is beautiful poetry and if it’s good it will move you emotionally in some way!
