NEW MOON MONDAY: SHOULD THIS SONG BE ON THE NEW MOON SOUNDTRACK?

Well it would be really great but the audience (those who haven’t read the books) won’t have realized that Jacob is ignoring her because he is a werewolf. She doesn’t figure it out until a little later so they wouldn’t want to give it away otherwise it would be dramatically ironic for the song to be playing but not have Bella aware of Jacob’s transformation. I love the song though!

i’d just like 2 say that jacob and the wolf pack are not true werewolves!!! the volturi make it clear in breaking dawn! the pack can change whenever they wish as it is part of the magic of their tribe! where as werewolves change only on the full moon and they become werewolves because they have been bitten and infected!!! and also the volturi had all or most of the true werewolves killed off!!!

that is precisely true amber,although jacob and the rest of the pack refer to themselves as werewolves in New Moon. I love Cat Power and this song will fit great when Bella finally guesses the secret that Jacob is sworn to hide. Jacob and the pack don’t know to refer themselves as shapeshifters. They find out only what they truly are in Breaking Dawn.

I think this song is too much about the traditional werewolf. Jacob and his friends,like belladonna101has said,are shape shifters, and do not just come out at night,or on full moons,ect.If the words were different,maybe because the tune is good.

I like the gloomy tone of the song but I’m not too thrilled about the lyrics. I think it’s too much to play a background song with the actual “werewolf” word in there, I mean I don’t want to listen a song with the word “vampire” for Edward either. I like songs that illustrate what the characters are going through in terms of their feelings at the moment instead.

i dont mind this song, i think the rhythm and sound of the song fits very nicely to that part of the book, i’m listening to it again and i can’t really make it out when it says werewolf, so if this was in the movie i doubt that audiences would hear the word either

i ask all of you who don’t think it would go to listen to it again and try not to listen to the words but the song as a whole, and try not to think about it to literally, and then if you dont think it fits well oh well i tried

That is by far the most gorgeous and heart-wrenching song I have ever heard.

Apart from the obvious werewolf connection, I think that this song would be PERFECT on the New Moon Soundtrack!

I have a song that would be great for a totally different part of the movie. Since they are including Victoria (and therefore, maybe some of Victoria hunting Bella?), I think the song “Hunter”, by 30 Seconds To Mars, would be an awesome choice for the New Moon soundtrack. It really has an ominous feel to it, and it might even be a good opening, or ending track as well.

I agree with the very first comment, by Sarah. The thing is I’m pretty sure anyway they would be able to play at at least some pint in the movie.

i think the song ‘forever and always’ by A Rocket To The Moon, would be a raelly good song to have on the soundtrack!…..i don’t really like this song

I don’t think so because their not werewolves. If Breaking Dawn becomes a movie, I think the song might confuse the ppl who didn’t read the books.

I think the song Untouched by The Veronicas should be on the New Moon soundtrack!

‘Over Me’ by STandar Candle is a great fit for New Moon…or any of the books…check them out!

I think ‘Metal Heart’ by Cat Power is a great fit for when Bella is in her ‘catatonic’ state after Edward leaves. Very soulful.

Hmm… Interesting.. I agree they are not REally werewolves… They are shapeshifters as it is discussed in the “Legends” Chapter in Eclipse!!

I think this song is good for new moon because as I listen to it I see images of Jacob and Bella flash through my head like I can see it in the movie…good fit…

i am sorry, but i totally agree with sarah. it wud give it completly away and in the part where jake is making bella guess why he cant be with her, we wud already know and wud be calling bella an idiot fornot knowing. the one thing i disagree with is the ong part… i dont really like this song. sorry, but its tru!!!

I love this song but I don’t think it fits Jacob and Bella’s relationship! It’s to personal to me. Yeah it talks about werewolves and yes Jacob is a shapeshifter but in New Moon he is still thought to be werewolf. The song is really not about werewolves anyway it’s a metaphor……so I’m going to say no!

I kinda like how the song talks about the werewolf crying and we all know that Jacob has no problem doing that and how you should have sympathy for him cause he’s like you and me! IDK it could kinda work…..kinda….

There is an awesome song for new moon called Left in the dark on youtube that would be great for the sound track or the actual part were Bella is going through her break down.

I dont think that song would be great for the movie. Like many people said, they are shapeshifters and it would give away Jacob’s secret before Bella figures it out. I have to suggestions: My Immortal by Evanessence and Almost Lover by A Fine Frenzy
