I really like this song for the New Moon movie and soundtrack. I agree that it would fit perfect in the part where Bella jumps off the cliff. I hope the people in charge consider putting it in the movie. : )
No way. I think they should stay away from songs that “describe” the scene and listen to the sound of them instead to fit the feel of the movie. I would prefer some hard core instrumental music to pop-y stuff.

maybe they should play this in the movie during the aftermath of edward leaving bella. like playing in the backround while she tries to be normal for charlie & while shes sleeping & having those nightmares. its too slow paced for her climbing a mountain & jumping off of it.

FYI twilight fan who said fall for you should be on the soundtrack remember that New Moon is mostly about HEartbreak, and having some mainstream crap like that song would ruin the mood and the movie
I love this song! It sets the perfect mood for that scene.
I agree with Haley. It’s good but too slow for this particular scene. Maybe play it afterwards when she is still depressed. The song for this scene needs to be a little more hard core to fit the mood… like on SM’s playlists she uses “Going Under” by Evanescence for the cliff dive. I think it fits the mood better.

i thought i had heard all kinds of good songs for new moon, but this one is the best.
i think it should be used when bella is actually falling and in the water. like those moments where she thinks she is going to drown.

I think it works. Lifehouse has the right sound for new moon. And I also have a suggestion for another song that might work for it as well- Love Hurts by Incubus. The first time I listened to it on the radio I immediately thought of New Moon.
i love this song.it should be in the new moon soundtrack… so perfect for when edward left bella. such a sad part in the book. i cried so much i even read the whole chapter again just to make sure that i read it right. ahh so sad ..

I agree with Carly on this one. It doesn’t capture the emotional climate through the music at all. To be honest I think an instrumental would fit this part of the movie best because there are such strong emotions that change quite quickly. She goes from being desperate, seething with pain, to the relief of falling to frantically holding on to life, to a peaceful resignation to the pull of death. All in a matter of minutes.
I do however, really like the song With Your Arms Out by Mount Eerie with Julie Doiron for the scene right after when Jacob pulls her out and she lays on couch wondering if she can settle for a Paris. To be honest the whole Lost Wisdom album has been my soundtrack to New Moon. I’m having trouble finding a decent link but here is a rough version (it’s the first song):

I’m a huge fan of Lifehouse and this song would be perfect for that scene in particular! She’s drowning and saying goodbye to Edward so it needs to be soft, slow, and have a spiritualfeel to it.
To be honest, although it is a emotional song, i dont think it would be good for that scene, as many people have already said its too slow, one of the most important things about that scene is the reason for it, if you think about it, Bella only ever hears Edwards voice when shes in danger (i.e. in adrenaline pumping situations) so although it should be in the movie somewhere i dont think it would be very effective for that particular scene
OMEC: Pressure by Paramore is too intense for that scene. It needs to be a quiet and moment of release for Bella because she’s letting go so a soft and gentle song is perfect.

I like it, it is already on MY OWN new moon playlist, but if their going to put a lifehouse song on the soundtrack i think ‘broken’ or ‘whatever it takes’ works better. ‘Broken’ is perfect for after Edward leaves, and ‘whatever it takes’ describes the whole movie, Edward leaves, but more importantly HE COMES BACK! thats what the book is about. Also at the end of the book, the most perfect song would be Far Away, by nickelback.
I think they should put 17 forever by Metro Station acoustic version in it because Edward is 17 forever. It just fits
I think this song fits right for that part of the movie. It is a tad bit slow, but it really gets the point across.

It’s a great song. it should play when Bella’s on the cliff and jumps. I hope that Chris shows what’s happening to Bella while she’s drowning. I want to see her fight, and then give up and look peaceful while she sinks into the darkness. Seeing Edward and telling him she loves him.

Something about this song I don’t like. And normally I like Lifehouse. the words fit but the music itself I think is what’s bothering me. I do have a suggestion, but i’ll email it to Evie.

It is a good song, and it fits the mood of the book- but I trust the stuff they choose- there are plenty of good songs but I hope they stick with whatever isn’t mainstream.
On that note- I really like Twilight by Thriving Ivory. It fits from Edwards pov…the title is just a weird coincdence

i love lifehouse, and while listening to this song after reading new moon i wanted it in the movie as well. lifehouse also has some other music,such as “you’re everything” that fits with bella and edward so well.
Yes!!! I cried as I listened to the song and saw the scene in my head of Bella. Perfect feeling in the music along with the words to convey how Bella feels.
I think a great song for the New Moon teaser trailer should be
“song to the Siren” by Mortal Coil. The lyrics are so perfect and the female voice makes it so sad and haunting.
Just picture Bella on the cliffs, the wind howling, swirling her hair, the thunder rolling, the waves crashing against the rocks.
And Bella’s sad desolate face… and her smile as she starts to hear Edward’s voice pleading for her not jump…and the horrified sound when he screams “No, Bella!!!!” as she takes the final jump into the black ocean…whispering “I love you, Edward.” with this haunting and somewhat pleading song in the background.
Everyone, youtube this song and read the lyrics, you won’t be disappointed.
I think this song would be perfect for the movie. When I visualize that scene from the book and hear the song, it’s kinda like I can feel bella’s pain. Well…maybe not but still nice song. I hope New Moon doesn’t make me cry.

I think this song is absolutely perfect for when Jacob’s SAVING Bella from drowning. Like after she’s already given up and is unconcious. Maybe even the song when they’re both napping after the drowning, or when he’s doing CPR or something. Cause I totally agree that Evanescence’s absolutely perfect for when she’s jumping / giving up.
Or maybe as the song for the month’s that Bella’s a zombie. Don’t know, but I think it could fit.

I definitely think the music this time around will be much ‘darker’ and less ‘uplifting’ that Twilight was. The emotions are deeper and everytime I read the part when Bella jumps off the cliff, I thought immediately of “Going Under” by Evanescence.
This sounds like it was written just for that scene. It also resembles some of Rob Pattinson’s style. I think it would be perfect!
I like the song… and I like the mellowness, because I just picture Bella being serene when she jumps, hearing his voice and being happy…. but like some of the other people I don’t like that it’s actually describing the scene with the water… however the line “you will catch me if I fall” gave me goose bumps!

Not saying this song should be when she jumps… but say they do a bit with Edward finding that she’s “dead” and breaks down… my suggestion would work well like that… i dunno, i just love the song 
and i loved hearing someone refer to Secondhand Serenade as main stream… John(Vesley) would be so happy to hear that! Maybe it is main stream now, it’s just I’ve known about him for like 4 years when he was doing small venues in SF so it cracks me up
BUT if someone really wanted a Secondhand Serenade song in there I would go with either “Like a knife” or “Suppose” neither can be considered mainstream at all

The song is perfect for the whole dark time, especially the cliff section. I found a song that will be perfect for the soundtrack, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus “Your Guardian Angel” The song is beautiful. For New Moon, I think it will work for the Italy scene where Bella runs to save hime. I kinda think it’s not right for the scene. The music was so slow that it almost seemed like she WAS trying to kill herself. May I remind you guys that she jumped the cliff for some adrenaline. So she could hear Edward’s voice again, not to commit suicide. And she was HAPPY that time. I suggest (just a suggestion, okay) that you try something more… adrenaline-ish. The music’s too slow for adrenaline. But that’s just my OPINION. But I’m not sure if they did the same thing in the movie. ‘Cause in the BOOK, she was happy.

I listened to the song before I read your discription of where you would put this song…I hear it at exactly the same place. Bella standing at the top of the cliffs thinking of Edward, desperately wanting to hear his voice again. At the point in the song when it says something about “you will catch me if I fall”…that’s where she steps off the cliff…PERFECT!
You guys picked a good song…and it fits the storyline. I’ve heard other “artist” suggestions, wanting to be involved with New Moon so I was alittle apprehensive before I listened to this…but this song is perfect…good job guys!

The lyrics are perfect. If some of it could be sung in a female’s voice and some-with Edward flashbacks-in a male’s voice.

Evanescence - Going under, is also a good choice for this scene, it has the feel of Bella’s thoughts just before jumping and then to have her jump on one of the huge beats in this song would be a powerful statement.
Breath by Breaking Benjamin or Broken by Lifehouse - YES…for those dark days before Jacob.
Fall For You by Secondhand Serenade - I think would be a good song for the scene when Jacob is trying to tell Bella how he feels and she’s “not ready for that decision” and leaves with Alice to go save Edward…it just depends on how its shot.
I miss you by Blink 182, Song to the Siren by Mortal Coil, With Your Hands Out by Mount Eerie . - Not so much.
They should have the song Stand In The Rain by SuperChick That would fit much bettter.
I like Lifehouse very much and this song fits. But, overall I think they should stay away from mainstream acts for the soundtrack. It’s one of the best decisions they made for the Twilight production. On a side note, check out “Gravity” by Sara Bareilles. It makes me think of the book every time I hear it. Not emo or dark enough for some, I still like it.

This song is pretty good. I do prefer little rockier songs. I like “It’s Been a While” by Staind. It makes me think of how Edward must feel after he left Bella and is in Italy. Also, I like “Animal I Have Become” by Three Days Grace. I picture this for the Jacob/werewolf transition and/or when Bella figures out what Jacob has become.
i think this song is a twiddle bit too depressing for this scene even though it is supposed to be pretty depressing, but i totally think The Fear You Won’t Fall-Josh Radin should be on the soundtrack.

I agree that Evanescence makes the perfect type of music for Twilight/New Moon, but “My Immortal” is too mainstream. Plus, it’s more like, “I did all this for you, and you left me anyway?” which doesn’t really fit the book.
Check out “Hello” by Evanescence (not for the cliff scene specifically, but for New Moon in general). It’s all about being left behind and the world going on without her. Yeah it’s kind of slow, but so is that part of the book.

Wow. This is soo captivating with the scene that it’s pretty creepy. This is beyond perfect for the scene, it’s amazing, totally teary and i can just picture Bella climbing with such determination while this songs being played.
I don’t think there should be any sort of pop shit on it that’ll get people comparing this to something ‘disney’ like, thats the last thing any twilight fan would want.. I think.
I love the lyrics, but i feel the music is wrong to be played over the jump…. perfect for when she’s under the water and thinks she’s going to die. And it the line “you will catch me” is a perfect way getting across the fact belle really does love jake when you pulls her out!

I do love this song!! it’s a great pick for that scene. I also think that Like a Knife by Secondhand Serenade should be up for debate, it’s an amazing song and perfect for just about anywhere in New Moon! Good pick!
All I got to say is wow!! This song is perfect for the soundtrack… I kinda agree with some by saying that it isn’t right for the cliff scene because it needs to be a stronger, more emotional song for that. But as far as the soundtrack goes, it’s perfect! I had never gotten into this kinda music until I listened to the Twilight soundtrack really lol not even Paramore!!! Crazy, I no haha
But yes, I agree 100% that this is the perfect song for “New Moon OST”!

personally.. i don’t like this song at all. its too slow.. wheres all the intensity? its adrenalin + danger + stupidity remember?
i can hardly hear the background music but i think the melody is too dull and repetitive.. i know alice coming back is supposed to be the turning point of the book but the cliff dive is so closely linked to that i think it should be a little more upbeat. to show that the mood of the story is changing from the depression and back into hope.

If an upbeat-of-sorts song is what you want though, i think “Hoppipolla” by Sigor Ros would be a great choice… Have you heard the piano? The music has incredible build up too! very climactic in my opinion! If you get a chance, have a listen…..

I think it is a beautiful song. This song fits perfect with when bella is fighting to stay above the water after she jumps off the cliff in new moon. She sees Edward in her head once she hits the water and realizes how strong the current is. He is telling her to keep fighting.

The song is great, but I’m with the people who are unsure about that being the right place in the film for it. I think that scene requires something a little more intense-sounding.
As for my own suggestion, I would never ACTUALLY want this on the soundtrack, but I heard a song today that I can’t help but think is exactly how Jacob thinks and feels in New Moon — “More Than That” by the Backstreet Boys. Keep in mind I was being nostalgic; don’t make fun of me!

I waz a little sketchy at the beginning but then I saw that it waz absolutley perfect for that exact scene! I hope they pick thiz and I reely hope to see it in New Moon!
I don’t mean to bust anyones bubblez…but I have a feeling that the director is going to go w/ an “epic instrumental” throughout the movie… weaving it in and out of certain scenes… And he will probably only have one or two “main” songs probably by a mainstream artist(s)…possibly written just for New Moon reoccuring throughout the movie. I WISH alot of these songs would be in the movie, but I just don’t see it happening at all. (I’ve got everyone of the songs suggested here on my mp3…plus many more that go along perfectly w/ New Moon!) I’m just wondering who the lucky band…or singer…is gonna be. I gotta say I think Blue October is gonna be on the soundtrack for sure. Stephanie Meyer is probably fighting tooth and nail for them to be on the soundtrack. Do you think Kings of Leon maybe also????
