‘NEW MOON’ MOVE TIE-IN BOOK COVERS

Yesterday we showed you a brand new image for a movie tie-in book cover for New Moon. Today we have another that Little, Brown is releasing to share with you!

This cover is for the mass market edition of New Moon and will be available to buy in November. Have you spotted the difference between this cover and the movie poster yet?

The one we showed you yesterday, is the trade paperback edition, it will be available to buy on September 15th in stores. It will also contain a collectible, full-color, fold-out movie poster. See both covers full size in our gallery, here.

This new cover rips my heart up. Unlike the poster, the stance and and expression on Edward is so anguished! He looks like he has given up, just looking at it makes me want to cry. I think I like Bella’s expression on the other one a little better.

What do you think of this new cover? Which one do you like better? Will you buy either one?

I don’t like it.. I can’t see any emotion on bella’s face it’s like she didn’t care..

I like the trade paperback edition better. I love the look of Edward showing in the moon and the wolf pack in the background. To me it is the story of new moon more than this one.

Awwh, knife in the chest! Tears for Edward, the one yesterday was much better, showed all emotions we find in the book. Maybe they should put Edward’s face here in the moon on yesterday’s cover? That is the sad, tortured face I was looking for!!! Just an idea! Why does it have to be different? They should make yesterday’s cover a movie poster too!

I think I like this one a little better, not that I liked the other one that much, but I like Edward better on this cover. I guess I don’t see why they need to change the covers just because the movie is coming out. The story is the same, yeah I guess it helps promote the movie, but the original covers are classic. You could pick them out in an instant and tell exactly what someone was reading.

I definitely like the paperback one better. It shows the relationship between Bella and Jacob more. With him being protective with his arm around her and you can see she’s trying to push him away which is the way the book is. I totally think New Moon is more about Jacob then Edward so I’m glad he’s not like the center of the cover like this one. I do agree his face makes me sad though(even though I’m all for Team Jacob ;P) And might I say, Taylor is looking mighty fine in the paperback picture.(Not that he doesn’t here too lol)

I am torn here… I liked the one yesterday except I like Edward’s tortured look in this one! Is that weird of me to feel that way?

kijo921, I feel exactly as you do, I want Edward’s face here on that moon instead, or his stand here with that face in the background on yesterday’s cover

Does anyone else get a *shudder* every time they see those words on the bottom “now a major motion picture” LOL… Ok I’m pretty sure I’m alone with my insanity on that one!

Chelle, not that I didn’t notice but they’re just trying to egg us on further! I mean, is it not bad enough that we are dying of impatience here?????? They like torturing us!

kijo921, they are torturing us, they’re very good at it, and here we are not staying away from this fan site. We’re going to explode by the time a new trailer comes along. I keep telling myself, ok July and August, 2 more months until the “ber” months, at least by then it’s closer to November! Gah!

YES YES YES!!!! TORTURE is the perfect word. The picture yesterday bothered me. WHAT IS BELLA DOING IN JACOB’S ARMS LIKE THAT? ALL WRONG! She wasn’t like that in the book,and to others who didn’t read the story,it’s conveying the wrong message. Why can’t they just print a picture of what really happened?Yes, the way Edward looks in the 2nd picture,but with Bella more anguished and totally miserable,and Jacob looking more like her rescuer,than her lover!

Darlene, I totally agree! She was never in his arms like that! Although I have to say Taylor was looking pretty yummy lol. Edward looks great in this one, but Bellas face is all wrong. Bella always bothered me in the one-sheet, I didn’t like her stance, like she’s holding Jacob rather than leaning on his strength.

I love this cover, it is amazing. I think it shows on Bella’s (K. Stewart)face that she is with Jacob because she is broken and is not whole, like she was before. Edward (R. Patt) is amazing as well because it does show that he isn’t with her for the main portion of the book but it also shows, with his head low that he is suffering as well, which I sometimes forget when I read New Moon because it is all about Bella’s torture.

Have you read “New Moon”? The fact that she has no emotion is one of the central points of the book! Everyone is telling her how “dead” she looks and sounds…. It’s not until she spends time with Jacob that she starts to care again…. a little.

I should say – I don’t like the LOOK on Bella’s face either – she should look SAD & LOST. They definitely didn’t capture the pain she is feeling in this book, and they didn’t capture Kristen’s beauty like they did in the Twilight promo pics. I think Jacob & Edward are awesome though, especially the pain evident in Edwards face.

I can’t wait!

oh. oh my…edward’s whole appearance is just heartbreaking. It just puts me even further on the side of Team Edward. Just looking at him makes me feel sad. He seems so pitiful.

i really like this one better, it shows the comfrontation of two different loves and I love the expression on Edward’s face it shows the kind of pain he is realy going thru. I can’t say the same thing for Bella’s face, she should be in pain and confused.by the way I am a proud member of the Edward’s team.

Bella looks desperately lost without Edward. Edward is heart wrenchingly tortured by leaving Bella and “living” without her. Jacob’s just looks like he is in the way between the two.

Is it time for me to read the books again?!?

Ahhh, SOOOO much better! that one yesterday, i dont know why, i just hated it. their positions were so awkward! and the one-sheet poster, i felt like they were posing, like for some glammed up action movie.
But this one! Its AMAZING! it coveys the whole story of New Moon in just their positions and expressions! Edward, well what can i say, he looked almost scary in the last one, but now he shows the anguish he feels in the book. Heaps of you are saying Bella looks dead and expressionless. On the surface, it looks that way, maybe like she was trying to do for Charlie. But you can detect the sadness just underneath, and in seeing that you can find all the misery and hopelessness she feels when Edward is gone. And her position is perfect! The picture really shows Jacob as her protector, and Bella is holding him, still wanting him in her life, while she still wants Edward, like shes trying to push him away at the same time.

-oops, sorry for the long break-down of the picture, i just love it so much!!!

I think I like yesterdays better. It depicts the real story of New Moon better. But I have to admit, I like the tortured look on Edwards face (sorry Allie)..as well he should feel tortured, he left her. And now…”she is with that dog, and he smells” (haha sorry just a lil New Moon humor).

i prefer this one. i think that it is better cause it shows the pain of everyone in this. remember-bella is a zombie-absolutely no emotion.
