‘NEW MOON’ SOUNDTRACK RISES TO #1 ON BILLBOARD 200
Great news, Twilighters! The numbers are in and Billboard.com has confirmed that the New Moon movie soundtrack has reached the top spot on the Billboard 200. It’s up 33% in sales this week and Billboard has all the details for us below:

“The Twilight Saga: New Moon” soundtrack rises to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 this week, selling 153,000 copies (up 33%) in its first full week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The Summit/Chop Shop/Atlantic album, which features music by Death Cab for Cutie, Thom Yorke and the Killers, arrived on the chart last week with 115,000 after an early release last Friday (Oct. 16) pushed it onto the list with just three days of sales.“New Moon” is the second soundtrack this year to top the Billboard 200, following the “Hannah Montana: the Movie” album on the chart dated May 2. “New Moon” is, of course, the sequel to “Twilight,” which saw its soundtrack debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 less than a year ago, on the tally dated Nov. 22, 2008, with 165,000.
