    — It’s everything I wanted it to be

thats the option i chose because even though they kidn of rushed into things like Bella & Edward falling in love it was still a great movie because of the action and suspense it had since it wasnt like the book even if it had the same concept.

oh and i loved the actors/actresses they were greatt :D

  • Bella

The first option. I LOVED IT!!!! My friends and I were waiting in line three whole hours(even us Canadian fans love Twilight!) and when we got there, it was almost full! I had to promise my friends I wouldn’t scream because they kept on hitting me when I would start bouncing in my seat. The called me Alice for a little while until I told them that Alice would dress like Bella(Just so you know, I went dressed as Bella) but they told me I was a freaky hyper pixie in my head. How true… But anyway, I think it lived up to my expectations and I was so glad that it wasn’t like the fourth Harry Potter movie(they took out way too much) I would have liked to have seen the blood typing though. They didn’t include that…

  • coco cullen

I thought I was prepared for it to be ok at best, it was not even that! I new about the small budget, and the location shootings and I actually thought it would make it coooler, but ultimately it boiled down to bad acting and terrible short choppy scenes? I wished they would have excluded the made up field-trip scene and added that time to rest of the scenes. Kristin just walked around with a bad attitude and Rob tried just to hard!

  • Ali

ok, I think the book was better, but the movie was AMAZING!
they are all such great actors! but they did leave out a bunch of scenes, but how are you supposed to make a 500 page book into a movie?? they did a great job! :)

    hahha i love edward! :) )

  • http://alohamonkeys.blogspot.com Aloha Monkey

The movie was alright, but the book was definitely better! It was easy for me to follow the storyline because I read the book, but for anyone who hasn’t read it, there’s so much missing! Looking forward to the New Moon movie!

  • Nicole

I was a bit embaressed watching it with my bf next to me getting antsy. It was 50/50 for me. JAcoB looked hotter than Edward did to me. There was no need for all of that makeup…especially the lipstick.

I felt as if he was trying to hard with his eyes in some scenes. The perfect edward dazzling eye scene was wen he saved her from the van…he didnt even have to try that hard…and i thought it was PERFECT!

They shoulda talked more about the other vampires abilities…since she will be in their family soon.

The tranisiton to the meadow scene sucked. Walked up a hill…i know what u are! omg.

The next movie better be good.

  • Natasha

    • It was alright but the book was better

Okay okay I liked it and it was hilarious, but they did skip over a few things and made it go too fast. I am disappointed about Jasper not getting good enough recognition for his powers and why he looks like he is in pain.

All the new twists were pretty interesting and Victoria at the prom was so perfect for the ending, like she is saying, I will be back, and so will these movies!

I was expecting a more fulfilling meadow scene too. That was one of my favorite parts in the movie and they pushed it too fast and didn’t make it as magical as I would have liked.

Rob Pattinson did NOT fill Edward’s shoes, period. He was too stiff and not very graceful. It hurt to watch him half the time.

The theater I went to was packed full of excited fangirls, including myself but there were more guys than I thought there would be!

All in all, it was pretty decent, I only wish some parts were more like the book. ;D

  • twilighter4l

I seriously loved the movie. I’ve seen it twice and I have to say you appreciate twilight more the second time. Ahhhh it was by far the most AMAZING movie ever. I loved loved loved it and I’m going to see it as many times as I possibly can. I’m way excited for new moon!

And I think Rob and Kristen did an amazing job as well as the other actors. Loved everything about the movie!

  • Mara

You know what, I loved it. Of course the book was better, anyone would have to expect that. You have to understand, as a movie director or producer or screen writer, you need to create a movie that is good, relating to it’s original story, but at the same time they need to make a movie that flows smoothly. Yeah they did leave out some crucial parts, like Carlisle’s story and I was sad that Edward did not take his bite of pizza. But I think that it has to be hard condensing a big book into a 2 hour movie, so they did a great job!

  • Maggie

I loved the movie, however the beginning was a little iffy. In the book they really get to know eachother BEFORE they fall in love. I felt like it was a little bit rushed. I wish they would have added 1 or 2 more scenes in the beginning, perhaps the fainting in bio.

Peter Facinelli did Carlisle flawlessly, which I wasn’t expecting at all.
I loved Rob & Kristen, they had great chemistry
I also love what they added to the characters. I think Rob made Edward a little less perfect, and Kristen made Bella alot less annoying and obsessed.
I loved it, but obviously the book was better

  • Heather

    **SPOILER ALERT**

Well…I have to say that I was disappointed, unfortunately. I did find some great amusement in parts the whole way through, and I really enjoyed Rob in his role – I thought he portrayed Edward quite well, though they could have done more with him to develop him in the movie…I enjoyed Jackson, Ashley and Peter in their roles as well – though they were quite limited…I have to say that they could have spent much more time on the attraction, relationship development and discovery of Edward for Bella…the meadow scene was a huge disppointment…

The movie went WAY too fast and it seems like they cut out some of the best development parts of the storyline for two main characters in order to try and get everything into a two hour movie…should have made it longer. – even if they had to condense the movie – it could have been done soooo much better…and what was the deal with the police station scene – where was that in the book?? They should have cut the whole police station scene…

I think less of the nomadic vampire buildup (which was not even a part of the book) and more of the relationship and funnier parts of the book would have made it so much better…

  • Natalie C.

I absolutely loved it. It did way better than I expected. I totally agree with Maria&&JasperHale on everything plus I also think they should have put a bit more of the Cullen’s in. I don’t know about everyone else but I think the Cullen’s are a very important part of the books. I mean they’re like a second family to her. Not to mantion Alice! Alice and Bella despite the differences become best friends and in the movie you don’t really see that wich upset me cause I love Alice’s character. Besides that though I loved it.

  • http://wanda.com wanda

    meh.

  • Amanda Kay

I just got back about an hour ago and I have to agree with almost everyone on here. I loved it!!

Yes it didn’t keep EXACTLY to the book, but c’mon people…what movie has ever actually kept with the book it came from? Harry potter ring a bell? lol.

I really liked how they did the edward sparkle. great job on that. the baseball scene was awesome.

my only 1 tiny gripe is the meadow scene (it was still really good…but i like how it was in the book.)

but overall…i give the movie a 9.9 out of 10.
oh and i do plan on going to see it again and again and again….etc lol.

  • sarah

I really think that they only scratched the surface of what Twilight really is . All I saw was Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart taking orders from somebody . And Robert had the same facial expression on the entire time (but when he smiled I melted) and then apart from that, EDWARD WAS NOT EDWARD ! He was just any 17 year old teenager who LIKED a girl . Edward (what i thought he was supposed to be anyway) was insecure, frozen forever at 17, madly and passionately in love, over-protective, DAZZLING,vampire . I felt ashamed to be known as a Twilight fan . My hopes were so high ! I thought that Stephenie Meyer wanted people to have a better respect for Edward and Bella , but the way that they portrayed them in the movie, its like saying that they were just an ordinary strange couple trying to get by . But we all know that they are more than that . It was a good movie over all , however , I don’t think that it fully portrayed the roll of the phenomenon, Twilight .

  • Chrystina

Honestly, I really liked it! I think it was a great interpretation of the book. Books are always better then the movie because there is so much detail and you get the best seat in the house, the whole thing is played out in your mind, so the characters look how you want.

I think for the most part it was wonderful. It was funny, it stayed true to the major parts of the book, and the characters were true to who they were in the book. The only thing that I wish they would have done was put more interest in the characters. Having read the books, I know the characters, which makes me love all of them… the movie doesn’t really let you “know” each character, I don’t know how they expect people who haven’t read the books to fall in love with them.. they don’t go too deep. Oh well, I still think they did a good job. B+

all i have to say is OH.MY.EDWARD. THAT WAS THE MOST AWESOME MADE OF AWESOME AWSOME MOVIE EVER CREATED IN THE HISTORY OF THE PLANET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I CANT FIND A DISSAPOINTMENT? i came in with an open mind and left unwillingly i wanted to see so much more. twilight is officialy my favorite movie!!!!(it topped the lion king) gosh i could not stop laughing at two parts specifically but mostly when jaspers comes at the cullen house and he just looks like costipated or sumthing i was laughing so hard. but he looked so how in the baseball scene. the other one was during the port angeles scene and hes all like PUT ON MY SEATBELT?? oh gosh i nearly cried of laughter. im so mad though i really had to pee, and ended up missing the piano scene, i ran to and fro. my favorite scene was the FIGHT SCENE!!! gosh it was kick awesome. i loved it like its like the best part of the film. and im like yelling edward stop!!!!!! he was beating james to a pulp!!!!

my second fave scene is basball of course emmett, jasper n of course edward look so hooooottttt!!!! nikki reed is a PERFECT rosalie. as is ALICE!!! like evryone was perfect.my favorite romance scene was in the hospital and edwards all im not leaving, im not goin anywere. awwwwww T_T

then i really was afraid that kristen wouldnt pull it off but she was so bella. like evrything i gave her props in the fite scene.

jacob was jacob he look so badass on the ‘rez’ with his werewolf buddies..lol i love taylor

    twihard 4 evr luv spunkransomkstewkellanjacksonashleynikkipeterbillytaylor

  • Katherine

    its was okay..
i hate how the main characters had little bit of lines Carlisle didnt get to talk much!
Edward told the story of how they came to be instead.
Kristen is a horrible actress. she freakin bobbed her head and shook it tooo much , blinked her eyes like 5 times in a row, didnt make much eye contact, and her voice was so flat all the time.. bella is supposed to be head over heels in love with the boy and she talks about him like he is just whatever. =/////
and the way she looks at him it’s not real.
her acting pissed me off. so horrible.
I wish the part of bilogy where she passed out fromt he sight of blood came out.. that was what made it all ironic..
I hate the prom dress they put bella in.. she wasnt supposed to know they were going to the dance. Alice dressed her up nice.. without nasty convers or tights.. it was elegant.. Bella was under the impression edward was going to take her to his place and turn her into a vampire.
pissed me off hwo the dance went. I do love the baseball scene and the part where bella walks in and roberts face he makes when he catches her scent that was preiceless.

  • Amy

The book was of course better, but you have to think this was done on a low budget. I was surprised you never heard Edward and Bella say “I love you” and there could have been a few more kisses. I thought Rob did a great job as Edward, Bella on the other hand was so-so. I look forward to see what they will do next now that they will have some money to spend on better special effects.

  • 20yrOldNerd

I am so dissapointed in the movie. I love RP as Edward, not because hes “hot and moody” but because he portrays Edward as someone less then perfect. Edward is only perfect to Bella, and we arent Bella. You could see in some scenes the conflict he had with the script, not the acting just the accent. I really enjoyed the piano scene, and the fight scene with him. Yes, some of his facial expressions were rediculous (count dracula-esque when he really (really) wanted to suck her blood) but apart from that he did an amazing job with the “god like” character.

KS as Bella was also great. KS looks the part down to a T of what I expected Bella to look like. But, she is way too strong and independent to be Bella. Im not saying Bella was weak and rediculous in the book, but she is OBSESSED with Edward. I just didnt feel that in the movie. What I did like that KS did that was different from the book was….nothing she was just like I imagined her.

    ISSUES I HAD:

    1. They are rarely together. The camera spends more time on eye close-ups and trees then it does on the two of them being together.
    2. Where have all the Cullens gone?: Honestly, Carlisle had five lines. And the rest (especially wax figured Jasper) all had less.
    3. They never say “I love you” instead in a short amount of time you get a bunch of “Im not afraid, Im not scared of you, Im a little afraid now” from Bella and a lot of random “We shouldnt be friends, we cant be together, you are my world” from Edward.
    4. Scenery O Scenery: Honestly show me one tree and I can understand were in a forest. Show me a scene with a tree and I get the same concept. Showing me six scenes with trees not to MENTION the thousands of still shots of trees makes me want to become a forest ranger. Get rid of the tree still shots and get back to the action.
    5. Cafateria: I know a bunch of people want the meadow scene (and I love it too) but if I have to pick a scene that I wish was there it would be the cafateria scene where they talk. They dont TALK in the movie. Edward doesnt ask her the 10000 questions, and the relationship isnt really established. ++Spoiler Alert++ they do one/tenth of this by a freaking salad bar. The way we read about him breaking away from the family and “breaking all the rules” in this scene could have been really beneficial to the movie.
    6. Bella and Edward went up the hill to, catch a pail of water? Wrong! Bella decides to angrily huff and puff her way up a hill so she can tell Edward…Hey you dont eat, your strong, your pale, you are cold to the touch..your a vampire. Smart Girl! Alone…in the forest…with trees..with a vampire right behind you. I liked it better in the car.

I give it a B-. I just hope that the issues I had with it are fixed with a bigger budget and more support. Please Stephenie Meyer, I am not saying that the movie needs to be exactly like the book but COME ON! Bella and Edward were barely established in this movie, how am I going to explain why Bella is so pained in the next movie? In the movie twilight they just look like best friends with benefits.

I have made 7 of my friends see this movie and I plan on going this week to see it again so I can show my support and plan a countdown for New Moon.

    Twi-Hard Forever.

  • erin

It was alright but the book was better…

i would go see the movie over and over. i did love it!!! but the whole cutting things from the book got me a little upset. And some of that stuff was important.. like when edward is giving bella a tour of the house.. bella stops at an old wooden cross.. thats when she learns about the cullens being vampires..

but like i said i will go see the movie over an over!!!!! I CANT WAIT FOR IT TO COME OUT ON DVD!

  • Autumn

I can’t quite choose between the first and second. I think the only thing that would have made it significantly better would have been to make it closer to 3 hours to include a few more scenes and details. Other than that, I thought it was great! It helps knowing the background from the books. If you had just seen trailers and knew no background info, you might have been looking at the person next to you going “WTF just happened?” Everyone in the theater was laughing at some of the more serious moments in the movie — not because it was suppose to be funny — but because we knew the story and knew what the characters were thinking in their heads that they didn’t say out loud. We were privy to the “inside jokes.” I took my brother and he hasn’t read any of the books, but I’ve told him pretty much all about them. He was laughing at the inside jokes too. I liked this scene…

Mike – “So you and Cullen huh? I don’t like the way he looks at you…”
Bella(confused) – “What do you mean?”
Mike – “He looks at you like you’re something to eat.”
Bella(tries not to giggle herself) – “Ha ha, Mike.”
The whole theater becomes hysterical with laughter!

  • stephanie

well i LOVED it i gonna watch it 5 more times cuz i’m going to take me friends to watch it!!! i’m going to get every single version of it!!!
    team EDWARD!!!!

  • Emily

FREAKING AWESOME!!! I can’t believe how amazing that movie was! It was more than i expected! They did fantastic! I can’t wait for the others!

  • Amber

i LOVED it i saw it twice this weekend and i’m going again pry another two times this week…god it was PERFECT the actors did an amazing job!! I really can’t wait until the second one…all of it was amazing and i loved it!

  • melissa

okay so i remeber seeing a preview with emmett saying “this is wrong edward she’s not one of us” and never saw that in the movie …. i really liked the movie but it is nothing compared to the book. in the book you have a feel for bella and how she loves and longs and would do anything for edward and for edward you get the sam vibe .. even the movie they dont establish the connection as well they never even say i love you .. for everyone who never read the book they dont understand narly 1/10 of the connection as those of us who have. dont get me wrong im definetely going to see it again (when there a less squeling pre teens in the theatre so i see and HEAR the movie) and i am loving that they are officially making new moon but … for everyone who has not read the books they wront understand why bella becomes a manic depressive in new moon nor will they understand why she easily picks edward over jacob and why edward is going to kill himself … if my i could only have one quarrel with the movie it would be that … that their love would be more profound in the movie as it was shouting out at you in the book

  • Lisa Mallette

I selected the 1st option, but the 2nd is also true. I would never expect a movie to be as good as the book, but the movie was awesome!

  • rachel TEAM SWITZERLAND

In all honesty. i am a HUGE twilight saga fan. i read all the books, they have changed my life. BUT this movie sort of let me down. I was pretty dissapointed with it, even though i loved it, if that makes any sense. I was really hoping for more, and just the fact that STEPHENIE loved it, and was pleased fully with it was…a little suprising to me. Of course , i loved it, but it would of and could have been better.
Maybe if they had a bigger budget? or maybe if they loved it just aas much as we all do? maybe if they grasped the love, but it is sort of hard to film that. i admit.

i was disspaointed and pleased. try and make sense of that

  • Ruth

I pick one and two…. I loved it becasue I went into knowing that they would not be able to cover it all and the additions were ok. I thought the acting was great especially from Rob Pattinson I thought he captured Edward quite well, I thought it was a great adaptation of the book however we all know that the book will forever always be much better.

  • Shelley

I can’t decide from the 1st or 2nd option. With the new added scenes, I think they should of not been added and put the emphasis on some of the other details from the book. Also, there was not enough of Jacob in the movie. There was more emphasis on him in the book on how he affects Bella’s and Edward’s relationship so that should of been followed better. I give the movie 4 out of 5 even though there were some disappointments, and I cannot wait until the second movie comes out. I’m hoping it will be just as detailed if not more.

  • melissa

also with bella’s lullaby … we all know being twilight fans what that song was when edward was playing it but they never officially state in the movie that edward wrote it to bella and that bella inspired it .. they just have him play the piano with her there and for all anyone who has never read the books probably thought he was playing debussy because they were just listening to it in his room … so ya that pissed me off

  • ellisha

The movie was okay. I went in not expecting too much and came out smiling. They left out a lot of important scenes i felt they could have added. I don’t understand why they added that little field trip. The baseball scene was cool. Jasper’s face was hilarious, but over done, along with Edwards face where he kind of came off as an obsessive pedophile.despite all of it’s flaws and faults i thought it to be okay for a book based movie. If you haven’t seen it i wouldn’t read these comments and decide whether to go or not. Everyone has there own opinion on this movie ranging from the best in the world, to it sucked.

  • nancy

I also can’t choose between the first and the second because I do agree that the book is better. But the movie was good too! i absolutely think that they did the best they could and it was enjoyable! The actors did very well in their parts, but they did change a few things in the movie! Also, there are details that they left out and everyone is complaining about it, but from my opinion, I thought that it was good because it’s not like they very able to put the book into a movie. It would’ve been a very long movie. Although I wouldn’t have minded watching a long movie of Twilight, I think they captured the general idea of the book! I loved it! =DD

  • Nikki

If I hadn’t read the book, I still would’ve really enjoyed the movie. It was very well done, especially for such a small budget. It was totally a Catherine Hardwick style too, which I liked.
For those who keep saying that if you hadn’t read the book, you wouldn’t understand what was going on or why the characters reacted the way they did…I beg to differ. My husband who refuses to read the books and kind of sighs and rolls his eyes when I talk about Twilight went to see it with me and loved the movie. You don’t have to read the story to get the connection and the movie. I didn’t have to explain a thing to him after the movie, either. Catherine and the actors did a great job with the adaptation. Even though I wish the movie would have been at least a half hour longer. And, they didn’t come right out and say “I LOVE YOU”, the audience got the connection. That’s called good acting. Rob and Kristen have such a great chemistry that they could have been reading a milk carton to each other and you would be able to feel something.
People are just too critical. Each persons version of Edward and Bella is going to be different. Not everyone sees Bella as weak and whiny; some see her as brave, sure of herself, and strong. Not everyone sees Edward as completely perfect; some see him as flawed and self-depricating. For those of us who cheated and read MS, we got where Rob was going with his portrayel of Edward. That’s probably why Stephenie gave him MS; so he would understand Edward completely. I don’t think I would have changed the way they played Edward and Bella one bit.
My teenage son saw it with me and now wants to take a few of his friends to see it again. He said it wasn’t as much of a “Chick Flick” as he thought it would be and he really liked it.
BTW, I’ve seen the movie many times (8) and every time I’ve gone, there was at least 30-50 guys there of all ages. I even asked some of them if they were dragged there or if they chose to see it on their own & many of them saw it because they wanted to…and the ones who were dragged there came out liking it (2 out of 3).
So, the movie couldn’t be as bad as all the nay-sayers are making it out to be.
No, it wasn’t as good as the book…but, what movie EVER is.

  • Maria

    Gina responded:

I sucked big time. I want to re- title it “Toilet”.
    ———————————————
That is hilarious, i totally agree. the movie made me embarrased to call myself a twilight fan.

    1. it went wayyy to fast( if you look at it with the perspective of someone who hasnt read the book, its like their relationship changes randomly from one day to another- today i hate you, tomorrow i love you-like seriously)their relationship builds throught out the book, not just sporadically out of nowhere)

    2. where was the chemistry between bella and edward? they were supposed to be in love for crying outloud, the movie makes it seem as though their relationship is only based on looks(Bella being mesmerized by edward’s gorgeousness)

    3. Kristen Stewart has no acting capabilities Whatsoever!– At the end when she’s on the hospital bed and edwards like, no you have to go to florida so i cant hurt you anymore. and then she’s starts stutering(if thats what you want to call it, to me it was like she was pretending to have a seizure) i just laughed because her acting is horrendous(?) I mean, i know she’s supposed to be akward but still, Bella NEEDS to have real emotions, And whats up with her voice she sounds like a Man! LoL

I dont want any haters, because i know how defensive fans can get, im like that… anyway iM just posting my opinion thats all, you have yours and i have mine, no matter how wrong your may be- no JK JK Lol

  • Sophie

Omg Omg Omg I loved the film but as i want to be an actress when older i thought that robert was a bitt ….. meh but overall the film was amazing and its encouraged me too read !!!!!! my books came today ! whoo :)
