TA TALKS BACK: WHAT’S THE HOLD UP ON NEW MOON CASTING?

umm renee and victoria are not in mew moon, and im pretty sure of that. i just read new moon. . . so that might be one reason.

Melissa, I believe you are incorrect in Victoria not being in New Moon. I am fairly certain that she is, and the wolves spend quite some time hunting her, but were never able to catch her due to her uncanny ability of getting away. Maybe you are confused because she doesn’t have any dialogue, but the character of Victoria is most certainly in New Moon.

Renee is mentioned in passing by Bella, but Renee does make an appearance when Bella is in her “depression” during those months in passing. She comes to try to take Bella to live in Florida after Charlie doesn’t know what else to do, in which Bella throws a hissy-fit and she refuses to leave Forks.

Victoria is there when Bella does her cliff dive. And is also mentioned a lot in passing by Laurent and by Edward nd him tracking her.

Victoria is mentioned in New Moon, and the wolves do hunt her, but Bella never has contact with her, so it’s unlikely she will be in the movie. There is no specific account of the hunting, just a mention by Jacob, and of course, Bella catches a glipse of her hair in the bay as she goes cliff diving.

I think they should look at Michaela Conlin from Bones for one of the Quillutes. She would be AWESOME. She would be an amazing Emily – so beautiful, and she can convey such sadness in her face.

Yes, Victoria is in New moon but it doesn’t actually say that it shows her, it just says that it shows her red hair on top of the water so they don’t have to have Rachelle Lefevrein New Moon. They only have to show red hair if they want.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t use Rachelle Lefevrein for the one scene Bella has a little contact with her. It doesn’t make sense financially for them to pay Rachelle to be on set when they can just add her flash of hair in post. Bella doesn’t mention seeing her mom in New Moon (Charlie mentions it when he’s talking to Alice and I believe that’s the only reference to her being around) so unless they do a montage and add her into that, I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t use Sarah Clarke. There’s probably plenty of footage that they didn’t use for Twilight they can cut in.

HOWEVER, the rumor is that they are shooting Eclipse back to back with New Moon, so it is a bit weird that they haven’t announced Sarah Clarke or at the very least Rachelle Lefevrein will be back for that.

i just can’t really wait for “new moon” to hit the screen. are they planning to show one movie a year? and how about “midnight sun”? i hope stephenie can read this, please dont keep us hanging for it really affects our lives thinking when will “new moon” be shown and “midnight sun” be released in the bookstores.

Since was the Christmas holidays when I was reading NM. I thought that Charlie was on the phone with Renee and once he was off he threatened Bella that she will “ship her off” to her mother’s in Florida, if she did not kick this delusion of hers. I thought that Bella saw Victoria’s eyes when she plunged into the ocean. I still can not see how Robert thinks that he is only in 2 scenes? We all know that there is more than just 2 scenes for our vampire hero Edward. Okay, so many we will hear Renee’s voice from any phone conversations and perhaps an image of Victoria at the cliff.

Finally, the reason why I feel that Summit and Weitz production companies are taking a long time to do auditions? Not finding the right actors/actresses for the parts. Also, they are probably deciding who is going to be in the film and who will not. Or what could be left out. With the immediate production of EC right after NM, they need to work quickly and they should have started this back in December, maybe even in November. Well, then they shouldn’t have said where they are filming (the locations) exactly! It should be: Somewhere in Canada, Somewhere in LA, and Somewhere in Italy. Ha!

I agree with Jane on Michaela Conlin!! I love her on Bones, she’d be great for Emily! But she’s not exactly 20, which I think is how old she’s supposed to be, but still I would be very happy to see her in that role Also I think they’d have to have scenes of them chasing Victoria or something, like they did with flashes of James Laurent and Victoria in Twilight. I think it added alot to the story when they did that, so if their smart they’d do it again lol. Same with the mom, they should have flashes of Charlies memory with Bella completely catatonic and her mom there, cus what kind of mom would she be if she wasn’t there for her daughter? And I think Bella flipping out on them would be a good scene to have.

im not 100% sure if i remember correctly but i think i remember something being said about bellas mom coming down to forks to see her when she was in her crazy phase. but whether or not they will be put in the movie who knows.

Yeah, Victoria pops up in New Moon for sure. Remember Laurent gets slaughtered by Jake and company becaue of Vivtoria in the meadow. I loved Edwards reaction when he finds out Bella has been hunted by Victoria. Priceless moment between the two.

Heey. So whats up with the hold up on New Moon? I have a few questions
When will New Moon come-out?
When will filming start?
Who do we know for sure is coming back?

New Moon will come out on November 20, 2009
It will start filming in (I think) Italy on March 23, 2009
[both of these were said durring an interview with Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz at the Push premier (I think)]
Robert, Kristen, Taylor, Ashley, and Kellan are the ones I remember hearing comming back.
