OK! MAGAZINE: HOTTEST VAMPIRE COUPLES
OK! Magazine has made a little list of their own, to count down the hottest vampire couples ever. Of course, Bella and Edward made the list, but unfortunately, they didn’t come in at #1! Read below to see where Bella and Edward landed, and to see who beat them out:
#3: Next on our list, a recent favorite, the gorgeous Edward Cullen and Bella Swan from Twilight! Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart take teen angst to a whole new level as Edward (a century-old vampire trapped in a 17-year-old heartthrob’s body) can’t decide whether he wants to kill or marry his mortal obsession, Bella. Guess we’ll just have to wait for the sequel, New Moon!#2: The next hot vampire couple is a blast from the past. David Boreanaz made the undead cool–even something to be desired as the hunky and tortured vampire Angel on t.v.’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Even Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) herself couldn’t help falling in love with this bloodsucker with a debonair flair, spiking the show’s ratings and even landing David with his own Vampy spinoff, Angel.
#1: Who can deny the sexual heat between True Blood’s Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) and Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer)? The brooding centuries-old Bill falls for the naive and virginal waitress, Sookie, and to say that sparks fly — well, take a look for yourself!

Okay, so I like the couples they chose for #1 and #2, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t disappointed that Bella and Edward came in at #3! I definitely think they deserve the top spot.

I guess I don’t get out much. I have heard of, but never seen the folks in #2. I don’t follow too much on TV.
I have never heard of the #1 group. Guess I will check them out.
Of course I am biased, and can’t believe I would find them or any other nominees more attractive, seductive and down right addictive than Bella and Edward.
Of course this sort of list is subjective, and I am up front about who I would prefer. So, who is OK! Magazine to say what is what? Not for me.
Silly list! Bella and Edward need to be #1, then Interview with The Vampire #2….and after that, who cares! lol!
I think the list should go Angel and Buffy except it should be Cordelia not Buffy as I thought there was more chemistlly between Angel and Cordie and they should come in 2nd and Edward and Bella in first place. Thats my opion anyway.

Buffy and Angel was, what 10-20 years ago? I think True Blood is just disgusting. Bella and Edward should be #1.
i think they should be 2nd. i loveeeee twilight and was soooo obsessed for a while, but i have a soft spot for sookie and bill haha. if you love twilight, i’d recommend reading dead until dark from the sookie stackhouse series..it’s the first book with sookie and bill..they made a tv show out of the books called trueblood. so far there are 8 books and they are very addictive..a little more adult than twilight..but believe me you’ll be just as obsessed

As for Sookie and Bill, I think they only made number 1 because they ‘got naked and did the deed’. They don’t actually appeal to me much….too obvious and Bill the vampire is too scruffy…I like my vampires well groomed and urbane, not scruffy and common.
As for Angel and Buffy - well, back in the day I thought they were hot too, but we’ve rolled over another century since then and times change.
…and if Lara Adrian’s Midnight series is ever put on screen then even Edward and Bella will pale in hotness.
I think that Bella and Edward should be #1 of course, then Buffy and Angel should be #2 followed by Sookie and Bill at #3.

But I was absolutely floored that Mick and Beth from CBS’ “Moonlight” wasn’t on the list! (If you didn’t catch the series last season, grab the DVD or download it from ITunes…you won’t be sorry!)
While I do love Bella and Edward. I have to admit Angel will always hold a place in my heart.
ok Edward and Bella should be #1 because they are the top couple now i mean seriously! haha and ya Angel and Buffy should be number 2 but i havnt even heard of the folks who are #1!!!!!
helll yes Sookie and Bill are #1. I love HBO’s True Blood series. I think Bella and Edward deserved to be number two.. but thats my opinion because I never really watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
I think its great that Sookie and Bill are number 1 I mean I love the show and the Books were and are freakin awesome!!! But come on Buffy as number 2 NO FREAKIN WAY… I think Edward and Bella are SO much better than Buffy and anyone she’s with!
I can definitely see why Bill and Sookie are #1 on the list but remember that there target audience is not the Twilight or even the Moonlight (I dearly LOVE Mick and Beth). With Bill/Sookie on HBO, sex is part of the storyline and our beloved Bella and Edward are about the intimation of the intimacies of eternal love-two very different things. It’s like comparing apples to beach balls-they are vastly different from each other but share a rather large and obvious common feature be it roundnes or vampirism.
Personally, I’m a fan of vampires in love as a rule-I’d have been hard put to pick one over the other!! lol…
I was hoping it would have been Lestat and Jessie, from “The Queen of the Damned” now there is one hot couple,oh well,They only voted for Bill and Sookie because it was season 1 of True blood,in the upcoming seasons they will not be as hot nor as heavy as this past season,if you have read Charlaine Harris’s books you would know that it is a very different pairing that makes this series very very HOT!!!!
I guess that Bella and Edward are “Too Clean” for this survey,once again somebody thinks that being a virgin isn’t sexy!!! Poor people,what kind of example are they setting for our sweet,pure kids today ; )
Maybe i will make Twilighters yell at me but I will put on the first place Buffy & Angel, ont the second (it was very difficult to me to choose!)Bella and Edward, on 3rd Dracula with Gary Oldman. In that selection, we see how much love can be so deep and so painfull in the same time… What do you think of it?

I love Edward and Bella and I love Buffy and Angel so either one should be number 1. Noone knows that Sarandon one and Queen of Vampires is higher on the list than Dracula! This list needs serious revising. For me the Buffyverse and the Twilight Saga should of had special mentionings (Twilight also for Rosalie and Emmett and the Buffyverse also for Buffy with Spike and Angel with Cordelia)

I’ve heard of both OK’s #1 and #2, but c’mon, there’s no way either of them beat Edward and Bella for hotness! Especially the Tru Blood series - I’ve read those books and they’re okay but there’s no way they compare to the Twilight series, not even close! It goes to show you how subjective likes and dislikes are! Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder!

I love all three couples but the reason Angel and Buffy are in the number one spot is because they won my heart years ago when Buffy the vampire slayer first started. I’ve loved them the longest so they deserve the number one spot in my book at least:)
Instead of Buffy and Angel, it should have been Buffy and Spike. Their relationship was way better. They had chemistry since season 2. And, it should’ve been #1.

Ok….#1 would be more legit if their names weren’t “sookie” and “bill”.
Bill is a suckish name for a vamp. it’s not vamplike at all. But eh…yeah they’re pretty cute. AND the show’s hot. Although I see it as a cheap southern ripoff of twilight.
For me, always : 1, Buffy and Angel. For those of you that havent seen Buffy, boy, you’ve missed alot! Joss Whedon created a masterpiece, just watch Buffy Season 3 ep. Graduation day part 1 & 2. My fave bit is when Angel drinks Buffy’s blood. it sounds stupid, but that is directing at its best.
Compare that to when Edward bites Bella in the Twilight movie. LOL.
2nd for me would be Edward and Bella. I perfer the book, but Robert PAttinson made the film for me. grr..
Never seen Trublood, so I cant say much. I’ve seen a pic of them both and it just looks naff. his teet are so pointy- r they needles?
I have to say I’m a huge Twilight fan, but that only comes from my vamp obsession from Buffy…so I think Buffy and Angel should be number one but I loved Spike too so either for me…then Bella and Edward…I haven’t seen Tru Blood but I am not sure they could top those for me. Joss Whedon was a genius
I think Buffy and Spike should have been #1. All the way. Pasty faced Edward is so not hot but rather a dog with vomit over himself. Anyone who has never seen Buffy check out some Buffy on youtube there is no ever substitute for her and her man.

Sorry, but gotta agree with the commenters who place Buffy and Spike at #1. Don’t get me wrong - love Twilight, love Bella and Edward - but the 6 years Spike and Buffy spent together gave them a lot more time to develop what turned out to be a multifaceted relationship with major depth. The love/hate thing, the unresolved sexual tension, Spike’s redemption, Buffy’s indecision - no comparison to Edward and Bella. If Twilight had been a TV series instead of a film series, we might have gotten a better chance to see that depth. But even in the books I don’t see it.
I also think part of this is about the intended audience. Twilight’s audience is teens. Buffy’s audience BEGAN as teens, and then the show matured right along with the viewers. To me, in spite of the sex and pregnancy, Bella and Edward never quite graduate to the sort of depth and adulthood the way Spike and Buffy do. I say this as a thirtysomething adult who only recently came to both of these fandoms at the same time, so you know it’s not nostalgia that forms my opinion. If the movies mature over time (like the way the Harry Potter films have matured), I might change my mind, but I doubt it ’cause as I said - I don’t see it happening in the books either.
And don’t even get me started on Angel - the bloody poof.
Not a bad list, but . . . Edward and Bella? PAH. How about some REAL vampires instead of pale imitations (pun not intended but still funny)?
-I honestly have no idea what True Blood is, but I’m definitely going to check it out. And to the person who said Bill is a stupid name for a vampire . . . they’re named (usually) after the humans they were previously. And it’s infinitely less stupid than “Carlisle” (I’m not even gonna touch “Renesme”).
-Buffy/Spike should definitely have been on the list — it’s just so much more interesting than Buffy/Angel. Their relationship is just so badass. Though I haven’t sene past the third season, I already know that it’ll work out and be phenomenal, because those two characters are.
-Buffy/Angel reminds me of Edward/Bella, except for a few outstanding exceptions. One, Buffy is the feminist role model Bella will never be. Even IF Angel tried to control Buffy (which he never really did, he just helped her when she needed it), she would kick his ass five different ways and make him say “uncle.” Secondly, while their love is romantic and sweet, it’s never sold as “true.” There’s always the knowledge that either he’ll decide to leave, she’ll decide to leave, or he’ll turn evil and kill her. That idea of a shelf life that both of them are aware of but won’t acknowledge is very realistic (when don’t teenagers act like idiots?) and somewhat sexy. That’s the main thing that defines their relationship — she’s gorgeous, he’s BEYOND gorgeous, and they’re both strong enough to beat the other into a bloody pulp. Somehow that’s hot, and somehow it works to make even me — the self-proclaimed cynic and scorner of “eternal love” — smile dreamily at some parts and enjoy the couple thoroughly while it lasts.
There’s why the Buffy relationships work. Here’s why Beldward doesn’t:
1. Neither of them are even remotely likable. She’s a whiny brat who redefines the term “Mary Sue” and shuns anyone who tries to be nice to her. He’s a control freak who stalks her and talks like a Hallmark card rejection. The personal ad just writes itself, doesn’t it?
2. The entire relationship centers around the fact that Edward’s “teh HAWT” and Bella smells like some sort of flower. And that’s it. I mean, sure, the Buffy relationships do put an emphasis on mutual attraction, but Buffy and her significant vamp. DO talk about other things. They fight, they joke around, and they get to know one another through several life-changing events. Bella and Edward, however, merely moan about when she’ll become a vampire and when they’ll have sex and why Bella should run the hell away now but oh she doesn’t want to. Oh, and how hot they find each other. It has all the substance of a cardboard sandwich, and tastes about as good.
3. IT’S CREEPY. Repeat this one a few times. Edward sees Bella, wants immediately to drain her dry, and proceeds to watch her sleep without her knowledge or permission, knowing full well that all the while he could lose control and turn her into a Slurpee. Talk about caring, first off. And once they DO get together, after a grand total of three days (you heard me right; three days of actual interaction)? Well, then he decides to make every one of her decisions for her even if it goes against her express wishes, going so far as to FORGE HER SIGNATURE on applications to colleges she doesn’t want to visit, just because HE thinks they’d be better for her. He also physically assaults her a few times, dragging her into his car and giving her bruises and the like for the sake of romance. AND, if this wasn’t enough to make any sane person drop the book, he also he spends a lot of time with her in remote locations . . . alone and away from any sign of civilization when he could easily have insured her safety via chaperone or dates in public places. This supports my theory that he’s only “in love” with her for the thrill of seeing how long it takes before he snaps, and she’s only in love with him because he’s hot.
I’d go into more detail, but I’m afraid there’s a word limit and I’m already frighteningly over it. But all in all, Buffy rocks and Twilight doesn’t. And it shows how two very similar relationships can be so overwhelmingly different.

Even from season 2, they made an interesting couple. Anyone remembers that episode from season 4, when Willow accidently cast a love spell on Spike and Buffy? And later, when Faith flirts with Spike, in Buffy’s body? Even then, it was “chemistry”.
