I don’t know. . . it doesn’t sound very promising that he is “just started reading Twilight”. He is apparently, so far, after the roll because the movies a hit not because he actually cares about the project.

i think he can do a good job playing the obbsessive Jacob and the overprotecting part… i didn´t see taylor lautner standing up to Edward in that way before, he is supposed to be much bigger than Edward… But I saw a Video of taylor just the other day and he is huge now…he really build up a bodey didn´t he soo well only time will tell.. offcourse i want taylor.. i don´t like when they change actors like that…

I sure hope that he is not offered the part. They should really considered casting Steven Strait as Jacob in New Moon. He’s taller than Rob and a better actor than Michael. He’s much sexier and can compete with Rob on the big screen to fight for Bella’s affection.

Keep Taylor! He is adorable after all… Plus, I absolutely hate it when they change characters mid-stream – it’s like starting over. They have to re-introduce the character all over again. The more Summit messes with changes in this sequel – the less and less I’m looking forward to it…

Thank God he isn’t playing Jacob. They need to keep Taylor…he was amazing in Twilight, even with his very limited lines. Sorry but you can’t change actors in a movie like Twilight & New Moon from one to the other, specially with a main character like Jacob. I hope Summit doesn’t mess this up.

Look, I do have to agree, Copon isn’t a bad choice. Even Taylor said that he could do the beginning, but someone else would take over. I mean, think about it maturely for a minute.
He is to look 25-26 years old, buff and strong, and in BREAKING DAWN when Edward is yelling in Jake’s face about telling Charlie and the consequences of it for Bella, it states,

Edward moved then, to get in Jacob’s face. Though he was half a head shorter than Jacob, Jacob leaned away from his staggering anger as if Edward towered over him.

It’s as if nobody is thinking ahead. Taylor is a cutie, but facts are facts, he is not going to turn into a man overnight, or in the time that these films are going to be shot. Please don’t be mad at me, I am just being realistic.

It’s becoming rediculously childish that you won’t even rationalize what you are demanding. I mean, look at Robert’s casting as Edward, “75,000″ irate fans of Twilight, sent him a petition, hate mail, said he looked like a gargoyle, he was no Edward, and everything turned out fine. These are PEOPLE, believe it or not, and maliciousness does effect them.

This is only my opinion. I only suggest being open-minded, not obtuse.

I thought taylor laughter was the wrong person cast for that part before i even read the book. Now that i read the book it is clear. It just shouldn’t have been him in the first place, No offense to taylor of course. Also, Of course all of those people want him to stay cuz they’re young and thats who they’re got used to and created their crush on. If someone else played the part it woulda been the same thing. They’ll get use to it. Usually i’m against any recasting but this was a mistake from the beginning. Just Not the right guy for the part. srry

OMG Michael NEEDS to play Jacob!! Taylor was never really right for the role AT ALL! He didn’t fit the description in the book one little bit. As a HUGE twilight fan and a 100% “Team Jacob” supporter I DEMAND Micael Copon as Jacob.

OMG, they BETTER keep Taylor. OR ELSE. SERIOUSLY.
Guys we can’t be so picky that omg he’s not quite tall enough, WHO CARES! We love him and thats all that matters. He is perfect for Jacob, PERFECT. I don’t care what anybody says i’m not changing my opinion.

If you have read the books (and not just skimmed them or seen the movie) you would know that the actor currently playing Jacob just won’t do for the upcoming sequel(s). It was obvious form the first previews for Twilight that they would have to change the actor (or put him on some major growth hormones). The people around the Cullens are growing, aging, changing, but the Cullens stay the same.. that is the point. So unless they scientifically find a way to reverse the aging process for the actors playing the Cullen family, those around them will need to be aged or replaced. Why do you think the are rushing the production of the sequel!

I think Michael Copon would be great for this role. He looked sizzling hot in Scorpion King 2!! Taylor Lautner is cute in a boyish way, but he doesn’t quite look like a native boy to me. I think that Michael would look dashing and strikingly handsome as Jacob Black! He looks closer native american than Taylor.

Michael! Michael! Michael!

I hope he doesnt get the part. i bet he didnt read the book at all and just got it off of cliff notes. He just wants to use this opportunity to boost his non-successful career. i really want taylor to get the part as jacob black, he was made for the part.
