REELZ CHANNEL: MICHAEL WELCH TALKS ‘NEW MOON’ AND SEQUELS
Reelz Channel has a brand new interview with Michael Welch where he talks about filming New Moon, when they go back for Eclipse and even some words on Breaking Dawn.
(Thanks Kristin!)
I actually squealed when he said Breaking Dawn would hopefully be filming in February. I have no idea if he actually knows those details, but the tone of his voice didn’t sound like he questioned if the movie would be made. I can’t wait for an official announcement from Summit regarding Breaking Dawn. I’m glad Kristen and Taylor stood up for Mike’s scene in the movie theatre. That’s one of those scenes that I can picture in my head really well, it’s needs to be in the movie.
What did you think of this interview? Are you glad they kept the movie scene between Bella, Jacob and Mike?

AHHH!!!! How many times has MW unofficially confirmed BD?!?! He did sound sure though, like it’s in the works already. Summit, please please please, put us out of our misery and confirm pleeeeeez!!!!
eek i hope they make it
did anyone else notice it says in theaters 11/15/09 on new moon at the end its probably is mess up but wouldnt that be amzing if it came out the 15th instead of the 20th
Yesssss, so glad to hear another mention of Breaking Dawn. Now let’s make it official Summit !!
The fact that the movie date scene was left out of the script bothers me, I know they can’t put everything that’s in the book in the movie..that’s been discussed to death, but I am concerned about Melissa’s screen writing, adapting the book to movie, Chris W is also a writer and I’ve heard has stepped in and put in other things like Carlisle and Bella’s stitch up scene and conversation.
It just makes me concerned about the books/movies yet to come that don’t have a director that can/will step in and fix things, instead will just film the script.
Marianne: They keep changing directors for the movies, yet not the script writer? Why is that? Just like they have to choose directors based on expertise, shouldn’t they do the same for the screenplay writers? Just my assumption, don’t know anything about the movie business, but I’m sure there are writers with different forte as well.
Wow, I am amazingly happy that they kept the scene of Mike, Jacob, and Bella’s awkward movie date. I seriously would not have liked the movie as much without it, it’s a pretty important part after Mike is in the bathroom and Bella is alone talking to Jacob. So yay!
Chelle: I have to plead ignorance when it comes to the movie business, it’s not that I didn’t like Twilight, but there were things that were done/written, that just didn’t make sense to me. I don’t know who’s part it was …writer or director, but simple things left out that changed the feel of the movie in some parts, and the leaving out of scenes and putting in of a scene that made no sense. Example blood typing vs greenhouse. Because things were left out of the first 2 movies makes me wonder who will be there for the next 2 to keep the good stuff in. I also never got the Edward obsession with trees?
It would have been interesting to see what a different screen writer would have done with these books. I still have a feeling Chris W.made a lot of changes to this script. Sorry I going on, and on about this.
Marianne: I completely agree about the movie leaving out some parts. I really only love the movie due to my love for the book (and of course RP). First time I watched it, I was lost and confused. The tree thing still baffles me. I really do wish that blood typing scene would have been on there. That would have been hilarious and touching at the same time. Oh well. I think CH made lots of changes too, and the writer strike was going on at the time too. I hope D. Slade will be proactive about the script and listen to the cast the way CW did.
