ROBERT PATTINSON: BREAKOUT STAR OF 2008
The LA Times has put Robert Pattinson on their list of Breakout Stars of 2008. Also on the list were stars like Katy Perry, David Cook, Demi Lovato, Leona Lewis, Vampire Weekend, and more.
Here’s what they had to say about Rob:
It took less than a year for the folks on our Breakout Stars of 2008 list to become household names. You may not have known them a year ago, but this year you couldn’t get away. Robert Pattinson and his unruly ‘do sent “Twilight” fans — and then some — swooning.
Robert PattinsonIs it the British accent? His alleged negligence of personal hygiene? Could it be his total cluelessness over how to maneuver in his newfound fame? Or is he just the lucky bloke who got cast as hottie teen vampire Edward in “Twilight”? (Answer: All of the above.) And the 22-year-old Pattinson won’t be disappearing back into obscurity any time soon. He and “Twilight” costar Kristen Stewart start filming the sequel, “New Moon,” in March.

Congratulations to Rob! I think it’s great that he’s making “Breakout Stars lists” left and right, and I think he deserves it. But I’m not too thrilled that Russell Brand made the list. Just saying..

Russell Brand and Rob Pattinson do NOT need to be on the same list of ANYTHING *ever* (unless it’s for being British)! UGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGH, I can’t believe this travesty! Yes, Rob deserves to be on that list. He’s a breakout star because he has thousands (perhaps millions) of fans, young and old. He has handled his sudden fame w/great charm and humility. He’s one of a kind, and he’s no one trick pony; ROB CAN ACT IN ANY GENRE HE’S GIVEN. Yaaaaaaaay Rob!

It’s ALL of the above but I think at the top is the fact that he’s just so down to earth. I agree that he does deserve to be on this list. I am so sick of Russell Brand getting his face in everything, I just heard that he’s been offered a slot in the next Pirates movie, NO!!! Please do not ruin Capt Jack. I don’t know who this guy’s agent is but he’s been working overtime for sure. He doesn’t need to be on this list…….
Russell Brand is an idiot! There was no excuse to cut off Rob that way. Okay, Im sounding like an immature idiot. Anyhoo, Rob deserves to be on that list and I think Robs slovenly ways are adorable, dont you. It makes him more human. I am sooo excited for New Moon. I cant wait to see Robs potrayl of Edward in Italy…shivers! That list left off one major thing we love about Rob besides the fact that he is an amazing actor, He causes the body to go into sensory overload, he’s so HOT!!!
Yes, Robert deserves to be on the breakout stars list at #1-not only did he pull off the part of Edward, he did a great job! And, I know he’s humble and all and I hope he stays that way, but this guy has got loads of talent-when he was on Jay Leno and said he just got on a plane and went to Oregon in answer to what his motivation was! I know he and Kristen did a lot of work on their characters behind the scenes because they wanted the movie to be good. I just hope they know we appreciate all the hard work they did!

I agree with Angel, Rob Pattinson totally deseves to be on the list, but Russell Brand? I don’t think so. I haven’t seen a young man so talented as Rob come along in quite some time. All his hard work has paid off in Twilight. I really loved the movie and can’t wait till it comes out on DVD. I was wondering why I like him so much, besides being talented. I guess it his British accent and charm. Oh, I can’t forget his happy laughter.
Imdb rating (Twilight) = 5.9, and remember thats with all the silly little girls voting 10/10, that should indicate to you something about this movie, oh, and russell brand is more intelligent and funnier than the entire pubescent cast of Twilight combined. Especially this so-called actor, although i am yet to see him ‘act’ with any kind of competence.
Robert Pattinson is very talented. Russell Brand is very sexy. Perhaps sexy enough for the list?
