SALUTE TO TWILIGHT CONVENTION: GUEST UPDATE
An unfortunate little update to the Salute to Twilight Convention in February - previously confirmed guest Taylor Lautner will be unable to attend due to filming prep work. Fortunately, Creation Entertainment will soon be announcing the names of two additional guests who are attending the convention.
Below is Creation Entertainment’s official statement on Taylor’s cancellation:
Today we heard from Taylor Lautner’s representative that he is unfortunately unable to appear at any conventions during this timeframe due to prep work on the new film. While we never like to have guest cancellations we wish Taylor luck on the film of course and look forward to welcoming him at future dates now under discussion. Those that purchased separate photo ops and autograph tickets for Taylor will have their credit cards refunded early next week. On the positive side we will be announcing TWO ADDITIONAL GREAT TWILIGHT MOVIE GUESTS VERY SOON to be added to the guest list. We regret the inconvenience of this announcement for Taylor’s many fans.

It’s really sad that Taylor has to cancel his appearance at the convention, but I’m sure most people would agree that Taylor’s prep work and dedication to ‘New Moon’ is as good a reason as any to cancel.
What do you think of this news? Had you planned on going to this convention? Are you bummed about the cancellation, or just glad that he’s putting forth all necessary time and effort into his role in ‘New Moon’?

It is unfortunate that Taylor can’t appear at the convention, but I do agree it shows that he has undeniable dedication to New Moon. Summit did make the right choice. I am also excited to see who the two Twilight Guest will be.

its sad for the california people. but theres always minneapolis and new jersey!
Taylor sees this for the best. He’s very dedicated to his work and he knows he must fulfill his physical appearance for the film. He’s apologetic to not being able to appear at the convention, but we all know more will be coming. As a Californian, I am not sad. I am very pleased and happy he decided this. Heck! We have 3 more movies to see his shiny new face—buff bod and all!

i am super sad that taylor is not comin i really wanted to see him!!!!! but i really want to know who the two other people are i really hope it is cam gigandet and edi gathedi i love them especially cam!!!!! lol.
I purchased the Gold Weekend Package for this convention and was very much looking forward to it.
Not to be diminutive of the other Twilight cast but I really hoped either Taylor or Robert make an appearance. It’s really not much of a convention to look forward to anymore since the main character(s) will not be present. I’m guessing the two they are trying to get would be either 2 out of the 3 bad vampires or “Bella’s” girlfriends. The only thing that would make this convention recover is if they get Robert and Kristen or Cam and Robert in it.
I don’t see why Taylor’s agent doesn’t let him do one little day of humoring his fans before he starts working on the film. He should be allowed some rest time. Ashley is on the immediate filming but you don’t see her cancelling. (Knock on wood)
I was somewhat sad to see him cancel (although I don’t care for Jacob at all), but as long as Alice is going, I’ll be happy.
Meeting 5-7 stars is going to be mind-blowing no matter who comes. See you all there!
I completely agree with Flora. I also purchased the Gold Package in hopes of seeing/meeting/greeting Taylor Lautner. I’m a HUGE Jacob Black fan and I just wanted to meet the guy portraying my favorite character. Twilight fans rooted for him to get the part in New Moon, and I think the best thing his agent could do is have him show up for ONE day to show your gratitude. He was only going to be there for one day anyway! What’s the big deal?
Thanks April, I’m going alone so it would be great to know someone going. I hope they announce the 2 new guests soon. I’m a little anxious to see who responds. Maybe Summit can help Creation get it together. I hope Taylor’s agent realizes that if not for the fans, Taylor wouldn’t have anything to train for and he should rethink his decision.
I am very disappointed! I had purchased an autograph and photo-op. I agree with Flora about Rob and Kristin or Rob and Cam. They need to make this up to the fans!
I just bought Jackson Rathbone Photo Op for Sunday, Feb 22, but I didn’t know you also had to buy General Admission tickets. I found out today that the General Admission tickets are sold out for that day. I don’t know what to do. If I should sell them or what. Or I was thinking of volunteering for this event so I can enjoy 3 days of vampirism.
