SHOCK TILL YOU DROP: RACHELLE LEFEVRE’S READY TO FIGHT NEW MOON’S WEREWOLVES

Shock Till You Drop caught up with Rachelle Lefevre for a quick interview:

She closed out last year’s Twilight, a parting shot as the enraged vampire “Victoria.” Wicked pissed because her fella, James (Cam Gigandet), had been torn apart by the Cullen family. Now the question is, just how much screen time is actress Rachelle Lefevre going to get in Summit’s The Twilight Saga: New Moon?

I ran into her last night at the Hollywood premiere of Adam Mason’s Blood River and pressed her for some details.

“The books are all from Bella’s point of view,” she told me. “So there are things in New Moon that get talked about and are referred to, but don’t get described. Victoria spends all of New Moon trying to get to Bella. As a result, she fights werewolves and has encounters. They’ve basically tried to show more for the film. We want to keep the love triangle going, but we’ve kept more of the dark action, vampire-y stuff to keep those fans happy.”

Lefevre added she’ll be heading up to Vancouver in mid-April and is “stoked to work with [director] Chris [Weitz]. It’s been different with him because he has tremendous respect for the fact that something has come before. He now has to pay heed to the books and what Catherine [Hardwicke] did so hard to cultivate. He’s done an amazing job of incorporating ideas almost seamlessly into what is what the fans are expecting and love.”

I think it makes sense to have some scenes with Victoria in ‘New Moon’. We hear about her from Laurent in the book, but we never really see what Victoria is doing. I love Rachelle as Victoria and can’t wait to see how she looks in ‘New Moon’.

What do you think of Victoria having a little more screen time? What do you think of what Rachelle has to say about director Chris Weitz?

Interesting… wow I really hope they kinda show ‘pieces’ of her in the water when Bella jumps off the cliff, then realizes that Victoria was there trying to kill her!
I’m kinda happy that they are showing more than the book did since it was all in Bellas POV.

I’m EXCITED to hear that we’ll see more of Victoria. I think Rachelle did a great job, and can’t wait to see her get to stretch her character.

I’m glad that she’s excited about Weitz, and that SHE thinks he has a grasp of what he’s gotten himself into.

I’m reserving final judgement till Nov 20, though.

I hope she doesn’t get that much screen time but I am happy to see that her hair is a more vibrant red then a pale orange this time around. :)

i am glad she is in the movie i just hope the new director follows more of the book, i hate when they take scenes out. i hope it comes out to be as long as the book.

I am glad to hear that they will be filling the movie with things other than Bella being miserable! There is only so much of that you can take! I am not opposed to fill screen time with the wolf pack and/or Victoria! Anything would be better than Bella feeling sorry for herself!
