SOLOMON TRIMBLE TO APPEAR AT QUILEUTE DAYS
Quileute Days will start on July 17th this year, and The Quileute Nation of La Push, Washington have a special guest. Solomon Trimble is set to appear at Quileute Days!
According to their press release, the Quileute Nation will have actor Solomon Trimble on hand for the annual Quileute Days celebration.TWILIGHT actor, Solomon Trimble, who portrayed Sam Uley in Stephenie Meyer’s mega- hit, will be the special guest of The Quileute Nation of La Push, WA during their annual Quileute Days celebration July 17-19 2009.
Solomon Trimble (Mescalero Apache, Lakota) has been a traditional Native American Grass Dancer since the age of 3. Twilight was his cinematic debut.
He served as a cultural consultant for a few films by Oregon Public Broadcasting in association with PBS.
Stephenie Meyer’s comments about Solomon:
“It was pretty amazing. I looked up and did a double take. “Aren’t you…Sam?” I asked. Solomon laughed and agreed that he was. He had a couple of technical werewolf questions for me (ex. “Can werewolves phase underwater?” Answer: Yes) and I tried to control my enthusing. Solomon was super friendly and interesting, and though he looks awesome on film, he’s even more incredible in person. His features are just so stunning!”
Twilight fans are encouraged to attend and enjoy a photo op with Solomon Trimble on First Beach!
The Quileute Tribe extends a cordial welcome to all to join them for their celebration of cultural heritage and modern lifestyle. Guests will enjoy a traditional Salmon bake, Quileute arts and crafts, dancing and songs, adult and youth softball tournaments, parade and a fireworks display.

This is great! It’s really cool for both Solomon and The Quileutes that they are doing this. I know Solomon really studied up for his role, so this is really fitting that he will be at Quileute Days. I love Solomon’s question to Stephenie!

I’m in Atlanta Georgia at the Morehouse School of Medicine, studying epidemiology and Indian Health policy, it’s only for the summer while I have no other projects, I’m not leaving acting, I just believe those that only do one thing with their life, only ever accomplish one thing with their life. Always been intrigued by Indians and their culture and I’m so happy that Stephenie brought them to the forefront in this way.
I often wondered why Solomon didn’t make it into New Moon and had to draw my own conclusions. I’m guessing the need to have “short hair” was a show stopper. Perhaps a wig wouldn’t have worked due to the amount of hair he has. Does anyone know if there’s a different reason? I think he would have been AWESOME as Sam.
As far as Solomon not making it into new moon, besides the possible hair issue, he doesn’t seem to have that big body frame build that Sam is supposed to have. I believe,he is the largest wolf, he is discribed as being big & tall, Jacob is the only one that equals his size during the story. Taylor is young enough to be able to bulid himself up quickly, but isn’t solomon older, like 27-28, and with a small frame there isn’t much that a person can do. Just my theroy. I could be totally off, I probably am.
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing that he doesn’t have physical built required. Wasn’t Taylor told that if he didn’t get big and muscular that he would be replaced?

I agree with you Chris, Solomon really strikes me as Sam. I’m sad to not see him in New Moon especially after seeing him in Twilight. I wish there was some way to keep him in the saga.
