STEPHENIE MEYER.COM UPDATE: FAKE ADS ON MYSPACE AND FACEBOOK

Seth has a rather serious update for us from Stephenie Meyer’s official site tonight. It looks like someone is trying to take advantage of Twilighters’ desire to see Midnight Sun published. Read the details below:

 
Hi. I hope everyone is having a great week.

It has come to my attention through several concerned emails that many popular websites like MySpace and Facebook are displaying ads offering a chance to win Midnight Sun. This is a hoax. I would advise against giving out any personal information or even clicking on the links.

That is my ‘tip of the day’ from your friendly neighborhood webmaster. On a more exciting note, we only have to wait 71 more days until New Moon the movie hits theaters! In case you don’t want to have to count the days on your calendar (like I just did) every time you think about Edward and Jacob, I’ve added a countdown widget to the New Moon Movie page (right side).

It’s just sad that someone would take advantage of the fact that we all want to read Midnight Sun. I’m glad Seth is busting that rumor before it gets going.

    Thats just sad! its horrible to think that people are taking something so wonderful and using it to their advantage that is giving it a bad name, so people will start to think “oh, its just like any other obsession that tries to cash in on their unsuspecting fans.” *shakes head* i dont know. As for the count down, 10 WEEKS TOMORROW! Cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I have seen this several times on Facebook. It’s usually an ad to “Get the newly released fifth book.” I have only seen it on the audio books ads, but I have even gone searching to see where the information is that it has been approved for publication. I’m so thankful that these rumors have been put to rest. (However, I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to see it published. Stephenie would have some seriously happy people on her hands!)

    i read wat stehanie put on her website about the midnight sun and i think it is stupid that someone would ruin this for us the fans and now we will never be able to read it and see wat edwards point of view is and i truely fell in love with all the cast and people in the book and i thank stephanie for letting us fans read a partial of it an i hope she will reconsider and still write it cause now i am more intrigued with the book and i hope she will continue on with the cullens and bella and the there daughter and keep the story going and give us the chance to see how bella weathers as a part of the cullen clan and how renesmee’s future goes and i hope this will make her know that she has fans that love her writings and want more from the cullens and the whole forks clan please i am asking u to please give us more of what we want and continue on yur path to continue this story between jacob and renesmee and let us live through yur eyes and enjoy this story and fall in love with yur next works on this matter thank u very much tammy snyder one of yur dearest fans
