STEPHENIE SATURDAY: HOW DOES STEPHENIE FEEL ABOUT THE ‘BREAKING DAWN’ CONTROVERSY?
When Breaking Dawn was released nearly a year ago, many were happy with the ending to the saga, while (inevitably) others were very unhappy with the ending. There were heated discussions about what “should” or “shouldn’t” have happened and the internet was abuzz for a long while. Quite possibly the most important opinion on this matter is from the author herself, Stephenie Meyer. So, what does she think about the Breaking Dawn controversy? Would she go back and re-write the book if given the option? In this week’s edition of Stephenie Saturday, TA Staffer Claire brings us Stephenie Meyer’s response to the situation. As always, we’ve added some questions at the end for you to think about and respond to.
So without further delay, we bring you Stephenie Meyer’s answer to the following question: How do you feel about the Breaking Dawn controversy?
To read (and respond to!) the answer to the question above, click here.
And on a Stephenie Saturday Sidenote (say that 5 times fast!), we will be bringing you a great new Stephenie Meyer music feature that we will be adding to the SM Saturday rotation, so don’t forget to check back in next week for it’s debut!

WOW! Stephenie in my books you are the greatest author. The Twilight Saga just completely blow my mind. I read alot of books but WOW! I loved each and every book. The way Edward and Bella love story is beautiful even through all Bella’s “hard times” I think you nailed it. Breaking Dawn was my favorite book. I was sometimes heart broken about
somethings but I am not the author I just the reader. Thank heaven for that. I enjoyed every single bit of it. Thank you Stephenie for everything you have given me as a fan in your books. I really do hope that there will be more to come. You have true fan here that will always be. Thanks again.
I love Breaking Dawn as well… It was so beautifully written… I love every part of it.. I was glad that she kept her ties with her family and Jacob. I love how that all played out with the imprinting… How could you not love Renesmee.. I love how Bella and Edward finally had some alone time together Hello I wouldn’t mind going and playing on a Island for a few weeks.. I was sad that Alice and Jasper left for a while but that worked out as well.. I love the covens that came to help they were all fascinating.. The shield thing with Bella was way cool…
I loved each and every book. Stephenie has gotten me interested in reading again. And Breaking Dawn its the way it was ment to be. I do have to say one thing it would be amazing if by some miracle Stephine came out with another book to the saga at the same time Lady Sybilla (Russet Noon ) was released. Wouldn’t that be sweet revenge on her part. Because we’d all be out buying her novel instead. So I’m trying my best to hold off waiting patiently to see what happiens. We haven’t had enough of Stephenies story telling yet or maybe we never will.
I lovethe bookand wouldn’t change anything — it’s not mineto change. Stephenie did a great job, and it’s her story; who are we to critisize how she writes it? There are things in books we don’t like. For example: I and probably every Twilight fan cried my eyes out when Eddward left in NM. But it made a better story. I like that she ended a series like Twilight with a happy ending; they’ve been through so much in the whole deal. Yeah, it would have been cool if the Volturi had their butt kicked, but then how would there be any control to keep vamps from exposingeverything and ruining the Cullens’ lives? And if the Volturi got what wascoming and all the witnessing vampires survived, wouldn’t that have been awful cheesy?
Hi I also loved all the books and Breaking Dawn was my favorite as well. I really wish that Stephanie would write more of them. I would love to find out of jacob and Renesemme end up together. There are so many things she could do and go with.
