STEPHENIE SATURDAY: NEW MOON OUTTAKE - ‘ROSALIE’S NEWS’

Last time we brought you an outtake, it was a ‘Twilight’ outtake titled ‘Emmett and the Bear’. This week, TA Staffer Claire brings us yet another outtake - but this time, from ‘New Moon’. This outtake was removed from ‘New Moon’ by Stephenie Meyer and her publishers for one reason or another and contains the phone call between Edward and Rosalie where Rosalie tells Edward that Bella has died - told from Edward’s perspective. This is a really great outtake and we’d love to hear what you have to say about it, so we’ve included some response questions at the end to get you to rack your brain.
So this week, as previously stated, we bring you an outtake from ‘New Moon’ titled “Rosalie’s News”.

it was just SO sad.
i actually cried a little bit…it was fabulously written…just so agonized.
Stephenie, you never cease to amaze me. EVER.
i read all the book and i love them so that wnat does the phone call say that bella is daed from draving off the mountains of la push. it that going to be in the movie. i that it shoild be becauce it tells bella and edward are in love and edward is till love with bella and bella is till in love with edward. i really love the books and twilight i cann’t wait intill twilight going into stores. new moon is coming out and eclipse and breaking dawn.
that outtake was great..it was the part i wanted to know edwards feelings the most…i definitely hope they make a scene out of it in the upcoming new moon movie..

I read it and I think it’s great!!! I mean I think the real pain and love and longing you can feel from this one little scene is insane!!! And wonderful!
I’m glad I’m not the only one that cried while reading this, because I had to hold on to the desk when I read the line where Rosalie tells Edward she is dead! I was really surprised by how painful this little scene is, it’s so full of emotion, I really hope the put it in the movie. It really would have been cool for them to keep it in the book, but as always great job Stephenie!

If Im Being Honest This Actually Makes Me Like Rosalie Alot Because If Rosalie Waited Then Edward Would Have Never Gone Back Because Hed No Bella Was Safe And Alice Would Reassure Him So Technaccally Although Rosealie Almosts Kills Edward He Saves Bella And Edward
It was all very sad to read Edward’s perspective. All the pain he went through when he was without her, he put her happiness before his. Then when he thought Bella died..oh my gosh..he wanted to join her. It’s going to be so, so sad to see that scene in the movie, but NM is going to be awesome!
That was amazing! I wanted more! Reading this is like torture becauses there is no more to read. I have read all the books and I would love to read more. Thank you for posting it. It really takes me back to reading the other books and now I am trying to imagine what happened from the other perspective.
That was incredible. I really hope that that scene will be in the movie. I could not stop myself from crying while I was reading it…amazing, powerful, wonderful…

I was crying when i read this! You can really feel edwards pain, I hope they put this in the movie.

That was a great outtake - really. I mean, that was always one scene I wanted to see (the phone conversation). If summit insists on adding more scenes with Rob in it, it should be THIS SCENE!
In response to Sara, yes, Stephenie has a great website. I read about this awhile ago. I think she wrote this as a joke for some type of Twilight writing contest but did not submit it. It would have been funny if the editors did not recognize her writing.
