So this week, we explore the question: “What does the title ‘New Moon’ refer to? Is it a werewolf reference?” And in addition to this, we’ve got some interesting background information on new moons and what they are believed to represent.

i always took the title rather literally, like – when there’s a new moon the sky is almost totally black, no light. when edward’s gone, it’s like that for bella (and for edward, as we later find out when he gives her his now “famous” little speech about what his life was like w/out bella in it…)

i though that the title “New Moon” had somthing to do with how bad Bella’s life was without Edward

i thought is was both a reference to edward being gone (edward is her moon) (jacob is her sun). it also might have something to do with the werewolves/shape shifters. but werewolves inly transorm when there is a full moon, not a new moon, which is the exact oppostie. maybe she is making the point that jacob and the others are opposite than the werewolves that we know? other than the edward being gone- i don’t know if there is anything else to it.
