STEPHENIEMEYER.COM UPDATE: CONGRATS TO STEPHENIE
Seth has updated Stephenie Meyer’s official website to post the links to some articles that note the amazing year that Stephenie has had.
Here’s what Seth had to say:
Since 2008 is almost over, I thought I would take a minute to congratulate Stephenie on a successful year. A lot of very exciting things have happened this year, and it has been fun for those of us who are fans of the writing to follow along.Several major media outlets have also noted the success, and (as long as I am posting something that Stephenie probably wouldn’t approve of) I thought I would post a few of the links for those of you who haven’t heard about the recognition and praise that she has received for the year of 2008:
• TIME’s List of ‘People Who Mattered’
• USA TODAY’s ‘Author of the Year’
• MSN’s ‘Most Influential Women’
• THE ARIZONA REPUBLIC’s ‘Most Fascinating People’OK, I know that the AZ Republic may not be as big as TIME, but it is a very cool experience to be able to open up the paper and be surprised by an article about a family member, so I thought I would include it. Anyway, congrats, Stephenie, and thanks to everyone for joining us during this crazy and exciting year. We wish you all the best in 2009!
I love that Stephenie is being recognized so much for all these amazing achievements. She definitely deserves it and I can only hope that next year will be just as successful!
What do you think about Stephenie getting all this recognition? Are you surprised? Do you think that next year will be just as successful as this year, or do you think it will be too hard to match the success of this year?

Stephenie did an awesome job this year and i am not at all surprised!! not only did she write the most amazing books EVER, that then turned into a hit movie, she also balanced being a mom!! that deserves a pat on the back!! no doubt she will be back stronger than ever in 2009!!
Twilight made one of the “Regrettable Trends in Pop Culture: 2008 Edition”
Is it an ouch?
I’m going to have to have a word with my mother as to why she didn’t have the Arizona Republic article laid out on the coffee table for me to read like she does with every single other article she finds about Twilight or SM in there!!! One of the best upsides to living here is the local coverage we get! It’s not a lot, but still…
I live just as far south in the Valley as she lives north, so I very seriously doubt I will ever run into her at Target or the bookstore, and quite frankly, I’m not sure it’d be such a hot idea for me. I’d probably dissolve into a puddle of tears on the spot, become completely incoherent and scare her!!!
I don’t think things will get TOO ridiculous around here. It sounds like she’s mostly getting recognized by fans in the store, and I hope they are sane and mature and not bombarding her with a million questions or begging her to finish “Midnight Sun”, I don’t think that would help that particular situation at all!!!
It doesn’t surprise me that she’s getting all this recognition, either. She has done what few people have before. Gotten teenagers to willingly pick up a non-school book and read it!!! As if that weren’t enough, she’s managed to get a large sector of adults addicted to her books as well. As for the success of next year- that depends entirely upon what happens with the “New Moon” movie, and if there are any new books or new editions of the saga published. I don’t think she needs to try and live up to the success of this year, or any of the hype. She just needs to write from her heart and know that we all love her and thank her for what she’s done so far.
How lucky would we’re all be if we we’re in the shoes of the 3 kids that I nanny for. Why you ask? Only because they go to school with stephs son! Oh to be that young. GOOD JOB GIRL- ‘09 will be just as good. I’m so anticipating the release of new moon!
hi I just want to thank you for writing your books. My daughter has RA. and your books takes her mind off of her pain. We both enjoy your books. And Thank you again. Patricia.
