TA BOOK CLUB: ‘NEW MOON’ CHAPTERS 13 AND 14 KILLER AND FAMILY

The TA Book Club is back! Every Saturday we’re going to bring you a chapter or two of New Moon complete with a brief summary, a quote, some thought-provoking questions, a song and even a little book and movie comparison. So tell your Twilight friends and come re-read New Moon with TA!
Bella knows what Jacob is. Although she can’t approval of werewolves killing people, she has to warn Jacob of the dangerous vampires and so she drives to La Push. When she begins to warn him, Jacob tells Bella more about werewolves, including their purpose of killing vampires to protect rather than harm humans. Bella learns that the werewolves have been hunting Victoria for some time. Jacob also tells Bella that it’s dangerous to be around him, especially if he gets angry. Bella reveals to him that some of the Cullens and vampires in general have special talents like Alice’s knowledge of the future. Jacob is elated with the ability to use Bella’s insight to take down vampires. Bella starts to feel like a traitor. Jacob asks Bella if she is better off without Edward, and Bella quickly disagrees.
Bella is introduced to the pack, who reacts with fury that someone knows their secret. To make matters more infuriating to the pack, Bella is a “leech lover†who isn’t welcome. Paul is unable to contain his anger and he phases in front of Bella. To protect her, Jacob phases and charges Paul. Soon the whole fight is over, and the pack accepts Bella. They take her to Emily’s house. Bella is unable to miss the large scar the covers one whole side of Emily’s face, and she realizes what Jacob meant about werewolves being dangerous to be near. It also becomes apparent how deep the love between Sam and Emily is. The hole in Bella’s chest starts to throb for Edward. Jacob informs the pack of Victoria’s intentions, and pack agrees that Bella and Charlie must be protected.
