Xavier Samuel is a GQ Man of Style and Julia Jones to Appear in LaPush

Posted December 2nd, 2010 By: Evie No Comments »

We have a short and sweet little TA Follows the Stars for you today featuring Xavier Samuel and Julia Jones. GQ Magazine in Australia has just listed their 2010 Men of the Year, and Xavier Samuel was named their “Man of Style”. Meanwhile Julia Jones will be appearing in LaPush this weekend as part of the tribe’s Cherish Our Children event. Check it all out below:

Xavier Samuel – GQ’s Man of Style

GQ’s Man of Style Xavier Samuel was surprised to learn we’d anointed him the most dapper chap in the land. “I’m not really a fashion enthusiast. I just wear stuff I like and feel comfortable in,” was the 26-year-old actor’s initial reaction. But, when pressed, Samuel demonstrated impressive sartorial smarts, reeling off a list of cutting-edge clothing shops he “wanders into” in Paris, New York and Sydney.

He then went on to sing the praises of Hudson shoes, All Saints jackets, Incu T-shirts, Nudie jeans, and Herringbone shirts. After that he generously shared his favourite piece of fashion advice: “Someone once told me I should never wear a black T-shirt because everyone that was cool – Paul Newman, Marlon Brando – wore a white one. The only person who ever wore a black T-shirt was Patrick Swayze. The person telling me this said, ‘So it’s your call – do you want to be Newman, or do you want to be Swayze?’”

Julia Jones to appear in LaPush

Julia Jones, an actress from “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” will make an appearance in LaPush Friday as part of the tribe’s Cherish Our Children event. Jones will autograph photos for fans for a fee as part of the fundraiser, said Quileute publicist Jackie Jacobs. The prices have not yet been set, Jacobs said.

The event will be at 5 p.m. at the A-ka-lat Tribal Center. Friday’s event will include a spaghetti, seafood and hot dog dinner fundraiser, silent and live auctions with one silent auction table set up especially for children, photos with Santa and a crafts sale. Donations of gift certificates, sports paraphernalia, artwork, Native American crafts, gift baskets, money or other items are needed. Proceeds from the event go toward the Quileute Housing Authority and the Forks Santa’s Workshop program to provide gifts for children.

Jackson Rathbone’s ‘Aim High’, BooBoo Stewart at Hollywood Santa Parade and Gil Birmingham at SAG Screening

Posted November 29th, 2010 By: Evie 2 Comments »

We have another new TA Follows the Stars for you today with Jackson Rathbone, BooBoo Stewart and Gil Birmingham. We now have lots of details on Jackson’s new show Aim High, a little interview and video clip from BooBoo Stewart at the Hollywood Santa Parade and Gil Birmingham at the SAG Screening of Reel Injun, American Indian Actors at LA Skins Fest. Check it all out below:

Jackson Rathbone and Aim High

Warner Premiere and Dolphin Entertainment today announced casting for their forthcoming multi-platform teen action series Aim High. Jackson Rathbone, best known for his role as the scarred vampire “Jasper Hale” in the Twilight movie series, stars as teenage government operative “Nick Green.” He is joined by Aimee Teegarden, known to loyal Friday Night Lights fans as “Julie Taylor,” who stars as Nick’s charming love interest “Amanda Miles.”

“We’re thrilled to have Jackson and Aimee on board,” said Producer McG. “They’re incredibly talented, collaborative individuals with undeniable screen presence.”

Aim High also stars Rebecca Mader (Lost) as Nick’s sultry science teacher “Ms. Walker,” Johnny Pemberton (Megadrive) as the well connected best friend “Marcus,” Clancy Brown (Highlander) as Russian mercenary “Boris the Bear,” Jonathan McDaniel (That’s So Raven) as Amanda’s jealous boyfriend and swim team captain “Derek Long,” and Greg Germann (Ally McBeal) as the protective “Vice Principal Ockenhocker.”

Aim High is the story of a young man leading a double life – juggling his studies by day and serving as a government agent by night. This series chronicles the life of Nick Green, a junior who’s just starting a new school year as one of the country’s 64 highly trained teenage operatives.

When he’s not handling international spies, Nick is dreaming of Amanda Miles, the most popular girl in school who’s cool, intelligent and very alluring. Amanda mercilessly flirts with Nick, but before he can enjoy her advances he has to avoid Derek – her overly protective boyfriend who threatens him for even looking at her.

Posted November 23rd, 2010 By: Evie No Comments »

We still have more to share with you from our Twilight Stars tonight with Robert Pattinson, Dakota Fanning and Ashley Greene. The book Water For Elephants now has a movie tie-in cover and it gives us a really good first look at Robert Pattinson’s character, then Dakota Fanning is gracing the cover of Sugar and finally we’re also getting a couple of glimpses of Ashley Greene in her movie Apparition. Check it all out below:

Dakota Fanning on the cover of Sugar

Just ask this issue’s gorgeous cover star, Dakota Fanning. It’s hard enough to convince the world you’re a grown up, but even trickier when they keep seeing you as a little girl. But since she shot to fame as the cute little kid from War of the Worlds, she has shown from her savvy career choices to her awesome fashion decisions that she’s pretty blimmin amazing.

In our interview, Dakota tells us how she still cringes when she looks back at her old films and why she’s ready for the world to see her as an adult now. Minus the crooked teeth and dodgy prom dresses, if possible!

Jackson Rathbone introduces Kolpix

Welcome to the second installment of “Twilight” star Jackson Rathbone’s EXCLUSIVE web diary on Hollywood Crush! Today’s entry is especially juicy as it features not one, but two 100 Monkeys exclusives. First, is the band’s new music video “Kolpix.” That’s right, you’re seeing it here first. The video, directed by Jackson’s bud William Schmidt, finds the band members rocking out from different far-flung locales.

Catherine Hardwicke on Red Riding Hood and the Twilight connection

Q: Who are the men competing for Red Riding Hood’s affections?

A: One of them is Peter, played by Shiloh Fernandez. She feels he is her soul mate, but he’s had more of a troubled past. They love each other but that’s not the way her mother wants Amanda’s life to go. She wants her daughter to have a better life and arranges a marriage with Henry, who’s played by Max Irons, the son of Jeremy Irons. He’s a very striking-looking kid, as is Shiloh, who’s very soulful. Shiloh was my runner-up for Edward in “Twilight” but he and Kristen [Stewart] didn’t have the instant chemistry lock that is now well-known.
