Today I, TA Staffer Becky, take a deeper look into the edible side of the New Moon merchandise world: the Twilight candies; including the Twilight NECCO Sweethearts and the new New Moon chocolates by SkyBar.

 

A Deeper Look at the Twilight Candy By: BeckyInPhilly

It’s been more than a year since products came on the market, branded with the Twilight logo. I’m fairly sure most of us all own something now that has been released by NECA and other companies that has Twilight or now New Moon on it, fully licensed by Summit. Everything from tee shirts and posters to bookmarks, jewelry, key chains and even body glitter and perfume. Some items were a natural fit. Everyone wants posters of Rob and Taylor and who doesn’t love tee shirts? What girl doesn’t want Bella’s bracelet or any of the Cullen Crest jewelry worn in the movie? Even the body glitter, though that falls into the what-will-they-think-of-next category, works as something to tie into the movie release. Another natural fit were the special Twilight “Sweethearts” candies from Necco since a small box of the candies features in a touching scene in New Moon between Bella and Jacob.

The Sweethearts aren’t bad, if you can still get a box. They are a little softer than the normal Sweetheart candies and in special fruit flavors. A few even…sparkle.

But chocolates? And in time for Halloween?

    Wow these look pretty awesome! I’d like to try the ‘Edward’ ones, although I’m sure we’d all like to taste Edward… hehehe. I laughed at the Jacob chocolates running at a higher temperature comment. That would be hilarious if it was true. :) Hope these sell in Oz.

    i work at a retail store and they has candies similar to them, except they were all the same just with the different faces on the wrapper. The chocolate was shaped like a heart with the Cullen crest on the bottom and they were cream filled. I ended up buying like 6 of them for friends and myself and boy were they good lol but these look even better. :D

    I actually tried the Sweethearts, they were pretty good.. I’m excited to try the chocolates :)

    I’ve had the chocolates and they are AMAZING!!!! bella is my favorite of the three flavors because her candy has an AWESOME butter-cream center! OH i LOVE these candies!

    Glad to hear they’re good! I bought three bags of the chocolates for Halloween candies, but have them hidden so my teen/tween kids don’t eat them all before they get to play the ‘cool kids’ who give out the good candies!
    I’ll probably pick up another bag or two for us though, before then. *chuckles*
    Hmnnn… Switzerland… swiss chocolate… I like the connection!
