TA TALKS BACK: ASPIRATIONS FOR NEW MOON
Ta fan Oretha writes about her aspirations for the New Moon movie:
While most people are hoping and praying for motorcycle scenes and wolf scenes, I have hopes for the following:1-I am praying for Alice and Bella Scenes, In particular I hope to see the arrival scene. I think the whole meeting in the hallway and Alice looking at her like she’d seen a ghost is pivotal to building on Eclipse. It’s the first time you get to see exactly the relationship that is possible between Alice and Bella. The brutal honesty comes through. In particular, I think we all need to hear the line, “I forgot just how exuberant you are.
2-The first movie completely left out the fact that Charlie is crazy about Alice. We need to put some of that back. That’s comic relief.
3-The scene in which they are making the great escape. I hope they write in an airport scene in which Alice lays down the law to Bella. We need to hear Alice warn Bella that she was going to do her damndest to get her backs o she had better behave. It sets the tone that Alice will keep reminding Bella that she can see what she is.
4-We need to see the family together at the Party. She’s got a connection to them all. Let’s capitalize on part of what she feels when she leaves is the desolation of losing her new family. Somewhere in her psyche there is a scar now because she has now lost her family twice.
5-Let’s make sure we see Victoria in the shadows and feel the on coming dread. Though New Moon is told from Bella’s point of view. Let’s make sure that we can see hats going on in the world around her. After all when she hooks up with Jacob it’s the desperation of her living on the fringe.
6-Let’s get to know the guys down at la Push a little more. They have been cast. Let’s hope they write a scene that all theirs so that we can see the foreshadowing of what to come. Maybe we can see Seth get chased away from the older boys as being to little. Let’s see Jacob look at Seth with kind eyes in that scene and reassure him.
7-Finally let’s hear the phone conversation that pushes Edward over the edge. I think I would love to see a scene as follows. The camera pans up to Alice and Rosalie sitting in the car. Alice gets the vision and reacts. Rosalie says, what’s wrong. Then we see Alice go inside and Rosalie pick up the silver phone and dial and have “The conversation†It’s got to be fast and furious and urgent.
8-We need to see the phone call to the house.
Those are my great wishes for the new movie.
