TA TALKS BACK: A FAN’S HOT TOPIC EXPERIENCE (NIKKI & KRISTEN)

On Thursday the 13, I woke up at three thirty in the morning to wait in line for over two hours so I could buy a thirty dollar t-shirt and wristband. But this was no ordinary t-shirt. This was a Twilight tour t-shirt and the wristband would let me in to get Kristen Stewart’s autograph.Yes, I got Kristen Stewart’s autograph. Did I mention that Nikki Reed was there also? There was so much screaming going on at Fair Oaks mall; I could barely hear the rest of the night. When I went up to the table in Hot Topic, I noticed that Kristen Stewart had HUGE circles under her eyes. When you travel around multiple states in a few weeks, you must get exhausted. On the t-shirts and posters, she kind of looks likes a chipmunk. I must tell you that she doesn’t look like a chipmunk in person. Nikki reed had brown hair for the signing and smiled the whole time. You got to have a mini conversation with them. They both commented on my friend’s hair, which looked exactly like Alice’s. Kristen Stewart was chomping on a piece of gum and looked like she had better things to do. I think it had to do with the fatigue.
I was speechless, and as I left, Nikki Reed smiled and said “Hi”. I said hi back in a wavery voice and walked out. When I walked out we just stood there speechless for a minute, because we had just met the stars of a major motion picture. After all 500 fans (I would say girls, but there were a few guys mixed in there, probably forced to come with their girlfriends) had their posters and picture of Rosalie and Emmet signed, there was a Q & A “session”. It was, at the most, seven minutes. And they had the volume turned up so loud, you couldn’t hear a word they said unless you were in the front row of screaming girls. They started to scream after every single answer (which I couldn’t hear).
But Kristen and Nikki had a plane to catch, so they left EXACTLY at seven. Some girls chased after them (hem-hem, OBSSESED). It was an amazing experience and the staff at Hot Topic handled it all very well. Shout outs to my dad, who woke up at three thirty in the mooring to take me, and my friend’s younger sister, who hasn’t read the book yet and was very patient throughout the ordeal. And to all those Twilight fans out there, remember: the stars are under a lot of stress to.

wow amazing i myself was also there…..didnt get the autographs tho…..and it was way tooo loud and seeing as im short i didnt bother fighting with the girls so i left a little before they got there…..it was a pretty neat experience though
i myself have met nikki, taylor and edi!
it was the best thing ever, we got photos and had a half an hour Q and A with each and then they did a 10 miinute Q and A with all of them. They were all keen and energentic, we got to see taylor do a backflip! they stood up and walked around while answering questions, it was just great to see that they appreciate the fans =D
They were all overwhelmingly nice and i agree nikki reed is just gorgeous, even better in person!

kristen stewart always seems really full of herself and bored even in interviews she needs to start appreciating
Katie - what a wonderful memory you’ll get to share for always. I’ve never had a brush with fame - WAIT! Do my dreams count? Because I’ve been having lunch with Rob for about 2 weeks now and the conversations are getting better and better each night! Tee Hee!
Seriously though, think about how you’ll get to tell your kids about this one day? So Cool! And YAY for your Dad, aren’t parents wonderful sometimes?
The Screaming…. ack! I do understand the excitement but I think there is a time and place for them. Rock Concerts? Pep Rallys? Horror Movies? Not when people are trying to answer questions about their movie.
Thank you Katie for sharing about Kristins REAL beauty, I know she must’ve been exhausted with all the travel but she has this inate beauty, I love her eyes. They are this wicked color, very smoldery! Lots of critics and fans put her down especially from her past interviews but she is so mature and just seems to be an old soul in a very young person. I enjoy her candidness and honesty. Nikki Reed is so beautiful, I’m glad they were there together, I think you really need support and back-up at scary gigs like this. Why didn’t Rob have anyone? Sorry so long with my reply, got carried away!
i think i went to the same event that the all.things.twilight girl did. Australian convention in melbourne, perhaps? If that is the case, then yes i totally agree with you on it “being the best thing ever.” Although i think she may have gotten the details slightly wrong. If my memory serves me correctly the talks went for 45 minute to an hour not half an hour. But i guess that can be easily forgotten, you certainly dont keep an eye on the time when your in company with those three stars, unless your doing it in vain. oh, by the way taylor’s flip was AWESOME!
Hey, that’s really cool. I was lucky and went to the one in Boston, ma with Rob! That’s cool though, I am jealous though! The fact that you only got up at 3 ahaha we had been there from the night before and we were still at the end of the line but it was an amazing experience!!!

Wow. That’s really amazing… I wish I were able to go. That would have been so cool. I agree that some people are just too obsessed, to actually chase after the stars like that. They deserve some privacy.
I love Nikki Reed. She’s so talented! I really enjoyed THIRTEEN and how she portrayed Rosalie in TWILIGHT.
It seems as if New York City never gets much of the Twilight fandom, its all mostly at the west coast, which is unfair… I wish they would have some events here…
The only famous people I have met are swimmers, which makes sense since I am one (Jason Lezak, Megan Jendrick, Matt Grevers, Ed Moses, Josh Davis, Cullen Jones[very, very ironic], Christine Magnuson and a couple of others).

it was so much fun. except for the getting up early. that was not the highlight of my day. both of the stars smiled alot and were super nice. i’m really glad i was able to go. my dad, who took me, sat out in the car for, oh, an hour or two while we got the tickets. here’s to you dad! i’m sure both of the stars were very tired but kristen, being younger, showed it more. thanks for your comments!
