TA TALKS BACK: IS KRISTEN MISUNDERSTOOD?
TA fan Ang talks about how she thinks Kristen is misunderstood:
Ok I feel like my brain is polluted so I’m going to clear it the only way I know how, writing.I read all this stuff today about Kristen Stewart and I don’t think it’s rightfully justified and it’s not just because I’m a brunette who wears Chucks either.
Ok so she’s quiet but does that make her “unfriendly”? I remember being completely ridiculed for being quiet. Automatically just because I was quiet I was a “snob”. Isn’t it possible to be shy and a celebrity? I stand in front of people every night (going on 2 years) now yelling and I still am not comfortable with it. Her job is to perform not to be comfortable with massive amounts of attention she’s getting all at once.
I read “how could she be nervous (at the MTV awards) she’s a celebrity she should be used to it” I mean she loves to act that’s her job description. Her job isn’t to accept awards, she’s 19 and accepting an award in front of the whole world and you wouldn’t be nervous? I thought it was totally cute that she dropped the award, I can totally relate but if it was me I probably would found some way to drop the award then fall off the stage. I think her recovery was awesome. ROCK on.
About her “rude gesture” to the paparazzi…..ok let’s get into rude gestures. Taking pictures of celebrity’s minding there own business in their privates lives hoping they screw up so they can sell the pic for their own personal gain that’s not a rude gesture? Then I LOVE how some paparazzi act so surprised after a celebrity loses their cool cuz ya know it’s the celebs fault for going out into public trying to have a somewhat normal life, that they have every right to have may I add, minding their own business and they don’t have a right to give the paparazzi a rude gesture once in awhile? I think one rude gesture deserves another. I think if people want to say that being followed and photographed is in a celebs “job description” well wouldn’t it also be pertinent in a paparazzi job description that they get rude gestures once awhile for possibly being over the top? I’m sure it’s possible to be
paparazzi and not be obnoxious.I loved her outfit at the music words. She was just being her and it’s MTV for pete’s sake not brunch with the Queen. Whether she had a twisted ankle or not I thought the chucks were awesome.
Finally, who cares if her and Robert Pattinson are dating? I mean if they are and they are happy more power to them. They are doing 3 more movies together with intimate scenes if they would end up together it would be understandable. Even if they weren’t doing the movies together they have incredible chemistry and I say go for it. Plus I always want my parents to meet people (guys or girls) I spend massive amounts of time with it’s only natural but it doesn’t mean I’m dating them either. Best friends or dating they have something special and I hope they never let Hollywood ruin it.
So I think Kristen is Kristen. Ok so I MAY a little bias, being called a “snob” just because I was quiet (and still have my moments) wear my chuck taylors, and I’m a clumsy brunette that still gets nervous whenever I have to stand in front of people but hey I still think she rocks so give her a break….
They only hate ya cuz they ain’t ya (and that goes for anybody not just KS.)
Not like it matters what I say or think, just my opinion but I needed a good vent so thanks for reading kids

I have nothing against KS, I just think she is 19………….enough said LOL. I don’t care what she wears I don’t care who she dates (although I do think if RP and KS are dating is a very bad idea until all the films are complete…19 is too young and to mix it with business), But I do care as a parent having my tween girls who are gaga over her (we even named our new puppy after her Bella) seeing her smoking pot legal or not in CA or Italy. It does not mean I hate her or even dislike her. I’ve seen far worse (I’m most likely a bit older than most of you here)things said about stars in the past. When the saga is done and complete it will all calm down and she matures and gets older as well. I think she is going to be great BTW in the runaways they picked the perfect gal for that part.
I totally agree with you! It is an actor’s job to entertain us or in some way enrich our lives with their performances onsreen, stage, or television. Beyond that they owe us nothing. Their private lives should be just that, private! Sure some PR work goes along with their jobs, but we don’t own them and they should not have to answer to us for every move they make.
Very good article, we pay to see the movies they are in. They are portraying characters and acting out a story. That is where it should end, we have no claim on them, period. What they do off that screen should in no way be a part of our lives, nothing justifies the wild fan reaction any of these actors are getting either from the paps or the fans, and it only because they both have gone to an extreme.
Being critical of Kristen for being herself is just plan silly. Everyone has the right to be how they are, and I’m glad she has remained true to her self.
I totally agree! She does not get up on stage as an actress she goes behind a camera but then people are shocked that she is not good on stage! She is not a stage actress and does not have experience at it. I have never herd of her expressing an interest in stage acting. Love KS and think she does a great job and is cool lol
I think your absolutley right, the girl is 19 years old and a great actor… doent mean she still isnt human and doesnt get nervous in front of large audiences like everyone else. Just because her life is in the spotlight and watched and critized by everyone. People are just jealous because of what she has a great talent for acting and she is smart but because she is quiet, not materialistic and showy carry a puppy in her purse they have to judge her. I like KStew because she can still be herself and be a good actress, yeah so what if she blows of the paperazzi so what, like a normal kid doesnt flip off a car that cuts them off as there crossing the street. I think if her and Rob want to date so be it, leave them alone. They seem to have a great chemisty why is everyone so eager to find out. High profile marriages and relationships dont last in hollywood, too much divorce and infidelity. If these guys want to be privet and do it right let them and if not who cares. Everyone is so busy worrying about other people lives they need to worry about their own!
Yes! Why can’t you be shy and quiet and still be friendly? I grew up with people assuming I was snobby just because I’m extremely shy and quiet, but once you get to know me, well my mouth doesn’t shut up. I mean yes, I understand why actors would be stereotyped as outgoing, but really there are a lot of actors uncomfortable with the limelight, Nicole Kidman I know is one of them, and that lady has no reason for insecurities, she’s gorgeous, but she’s only human. I loved her outfit at the awards too, that’s her style and she stands out. Good for her! And if she and Rob are dating, well all I can say is that as long as they are able to do their job well in the movies, the rest is none of our concern.
I totally defend Kristen whenever I can. People are constantly talking about what a bitch she is. The one time I ever met her was at the afterparty for the Twilight premiere in Los Angeles. There were hundreds of people coming up to her all night, and I stood in line for a little while and when I finally got up to her she was so sincere and thoughtful and articulate. She made me feel like I was the only person in the entire room, looking into my eyes and thanking me for the support. I think, like everyone else is saying in here, that she is just extremely shy in public, and like she has said in interviews, she doesn’t have that talk show personality where she can just turn it on for a 10 minute interview at the drop of a hat with charming anecdotes. She just doesn’t have that in her, and I respect her for not trying to be someone else. She’s totally keeping it real and she’s a great actress.

Excellent article! Personally, I like Kristen, enjoyed her movies, Cake Eaters, Into the Wild, TWILIGHT and others. She is a bit on the shy side, but so is Rob. She kind of shys away from papparazzi’s and I don’t blame her..they are in your face all the time. Kristen is a very strong person, even she seems nervous speaking to the media. People interpret the shyness with being stuck up or being a snob. I really don’t believe she is a snob. She never expected to be thrown into the spotlight with Twilight. Kristen usualy does inde movies, that was what she enjoys. She is also a fan of Twilight, she loves it like the rest of us do. As for Kristen and Rob dating…well, that’s really up to them. They do have an intense chemistry off camera too. Fan say they shouldn’t date because it will interfere with their acting on screen. They must complete two more movies Eclipse and Breaking Dawn, then their commitment will be fulfilled. Well, I think Kristen and Rob compliment one another on and off screen. Rob brings out the best in Kristen and Kristen really brings out the best in Rob, this is my observation.
Awesome! I just love love love it when someone comes to Kristen’s defense! Thank you for the wonderful article Ang. I’ve said time and again that people need to cut her some slack. As for her smoking pot etc, that is just one incident, give the poor child a break. She’s not done anything to mar her dignity and reputation since then. Just look at Lyndsay Lohan with her drunk rampages, Vanessa Hudgens with her naked photos (although that is just once and it’s her stupid boyfriend’s mistake), Miley Cyrus with her provocative pics (yes I was shocked at those ones) and the list goes on. So she smoked pot once, she was not advocating it. She was on her own premises and the paparazzi intruded. Sheesh!
And may I just say that this from Tessa in the other page, really touched my heart.

Rather contradict to what everyone says of her, does it not? She is probably like many of us introverts who work better in smaller crowds. She does not need to prove anything to anyone but herself. You stay true to yourself, Kristen.

re Kristen, she is not this giggly, fake smile, airhead thing, fake hair, fake boobs, fake nails, high heels, pretending to be someone she is not, like let’s face it some Hollywood Starlets are. And we can all see through that….
Kristen is more serious, reserved and quite, there is nothing wrong with that, she has her own unique style, and I for one like her because of that. Do we all need to see her paste a fake smile on her face, no. When we do see photos of her smiling and having fun with friends etc.. it’s genuine.
Do you know what else I think Ang? Sometimes I think people are jealous and they make themselves feel better by saying something nasty about people they don’t know.
Great article! I totally agree… I’ve also had my shyness misconstrued as snobbiness. Just because someone is quiet doesn’t mean they’re a snob. I like that Kristen just tries to be herself and doesn’t conform to the Hollywood starlet stereotype. The haters are probably jealous. I also agree with other commenters that her pot-smoking is really not a big deal. (Although it was kind of stupid for her to do it outside when she knows her every move is being photographed…)

Everyone is entitled to a private life, period. What they do is their business. If you have children that are close to that age, and pictures such as one of Kristen smoking Marijuana turn up, you take the time to sit down and talk about it (in hopes that your children already have had the drug talk). Smoking a legal substance (be in tobacco or Marijuana) is not wrong. There are far, far worse things she could be doing (Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan for example).
Secondly, her dropping the award, personally I thought kind of filled in with why she was winning an award, and I thought it was actually intended. She earned her award for playing Bella, a very clumsy, accident prone girl. what did she do? She dropped her award, and very gracefully recovered. We’ve all done something stupid (such as trip or drop something) in front of crowds. It’s called being human.
preach! I like kristen, I’ve always found her whole quiet nervous thing endearing, it shows she’s human like all of us. I loved whaat she wore at the MTV awards and if someone could tell me where I can get a pair of those converse chucks..I would be ever so happy. I live in England and their only available to men which sucks =(
