TA TALKS BACK: TO WATCH OR NOT TO WATCH…THE TWILIGHT DVD
TA fan Meghan worries about watching the DVD. Will she not appreciate the movie as much now that she has unlimited access???:
To watch or not to watch?? All week long I looked forward to the coming release of the Twilight DVD, much like many others, I am sure. And Friday March 20th at 8pm, my copy arrived. Early, before the midnight release. I even frightened my doorman by yelling, skipping and explaining the whole movie to him before he asked the dreaded, “Isn’t that the teenage movie?†I simply frowned and replied, “I’m in denial.â€Now I sit and stare at the DVD with dread, excitement and anticipation- not unlike my feelings that led up to the film’s initial release. If I have the ability to watch the much beloved movie at any moment, will I fully appreciate it? I stopped myself after ten trips to the theatre, admittedly, because of financial and health reasons. Now I’m afraid to fully embrace my ability, my freedom to watch the movie any time I choose. Will it recolor my thoughts regarding the novels? Will I once again be able to separate the two entities- film vs. written fantasy world? Will I have truly forgiven dear Kristen Stewart for her few media faux pas? Sigh. Yes, I am panicking, but I am about to watch my DVD for the first and far from the last time. Wish me luck.
